MIDDLEBORO —
The state Housing Appeals Committee will be in Middleboro on Tuesday at 10 a.m. to begin a three-day hearing into the Zoning Board of Appeal’s denial of a Chapter 40B project that would be adjacent to Cirelli Foods, Inc.
The public can attend the hearing, which will be held in the selectmen’s meeting room, Town Hall, 10 Nickerson Ave.
The project is proposed by Terrence W. Conroy, a Stoughton based developer. Conroy wants to build 250-housing units on 12.5 acres in the industrial park, which he owns.
The town protested the project at the outset, contending the park has been designed and permitted for intensive manufacturing, warehousing and research since 1982. Cirelli Foods, for example, is a wholesale distributor with tractor trailer trucks rolling in and out daily.
Conroy, as president of Conroy Development Corporation, bought the industrial park, Middleboro Park @ 495, in 2002 for $12.3 million in 2002.

Some things seem to be "No Brainers" and this seems to be one of them.
.
Does it seem to make sense to combine businesses that have tractor trailers with homes that have children?
.
Somewhere down the road, families will complain about the noise, the speed of the trucks or there will be a sad accident of a child getting hurt.
.
You might consider attending the meeting and voicing your concerns.
