On Point provided an interesting explanation of the proposed energy legislation --
Starting today, Congress takes its first real look at capping carbon emissions.
It’s spurred on by some major momentum in the EPA and the looming deadline of a world climate conference in Copenhagen this December.
But Republicans, big business, and some Democrats are leading a strong counter movement and sounding the alarm about the costs and feasibility, especially in this economy.

The EPA recently ruled that carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gases) are pullutants that threaten public health.
This gives the government a pretty big stick and some might say a mandate to curb these emission.
It's now or never to get on a path that puts in a leadership role in the coming green economy.
Quite right, Bumpkin!
As you know, our actions are late and may only allow us to minimize the impacts of global warming and maintain a habitable planet.
How pathetic that there remain Global Warming Deniers in Congress who oppose some of the necessary changes?
