Success Story: Hospital Serves Up Meat
Raised Without Antibiotics
"My goal was to go from 19 percent to 30 percent meat raised without sub-therapeutic antibiotics—guess I aimed too low." Chris Linaman, executive chef at Overlake Medical Center in Washington state, didn’t just meet his goal for serving more meat raised without antibiotics in the hospital this past quarter—he far surpassed it.

PTA Parents Resolve to End Antibiotic
Overuse for Animals, Protect Kids
This month, the New York State PTA became the first in the country to pass a resolution against the overuse of antibiotics for livestock. Representing hundreds of thousands of parents, teachers, and students, the group called for strong regulation by Congress and the Food and drug Administration, as well as for school lunch programs to serve more meat raised without antibiotics.
