attack in wake of kosher store siege in Paris --Extra Jewish security patrol cars are out in force in
North-West London --Security cars look similar to police vehicles and bear the
name 'Shomrim' | 12 Jan 2015 | Extra Jewish security patrol cars and

Jan 2015 | Up to six Islamic [or CIA/MI6/Mossad] terrorist cells may still be at
large and ready to strike in mainland France, police warned last night. The
alert came as French Prime Minister Manuel Valls placed an extra 10,000 troops
on the streets of Paris and warned: 'We are at war.' He said there were 'without
doubt' accomplices to last week's killings in Paris, after security services on
both sides of the Channel warned that further attacks are 'highly
likely'.

enforcement officers have been told to erase their social media presence and to
carry their weapons at all times because terror sleeper cells have been
activated over the last 24 hours in the country, a French police source who
attended a briefing Saturday told CNN terror analyst Samuel Laurent...A total of
1,100 French troops are currently deployed in the Paris region, alongside police
forces, to increase security following the attacks, the Defense Ministry said.

France, Australia and Canada as targets, according to a memo that CNN
obtained.

tells officers to 'watch civilians' hands, don't bunch up and always have a cop
on guard' | 11 Jan 2015 | As world leaders
gather in Paris to mourn the victims of the Charlie Hebdo massacre, police in
New York City have been placed on high alert for a possible ISIS attack. The
NYPD have been warned to look out for jihadi attacks after the terrorist group
released a call to attack American police officers, soldiers, intelligence
officers and civilians in a social media video on Saturday. 'If you are assigned
to a fixed post, do not sit together in the RMP [police car],' members of the
Sergeants Benevolent Association union were told in an email obtain by both
The New York Daily News and New York Post. 'At least one officer must stand outside the vehicle at all times.
Pay attention to your surroundings. Officers must pay close attention to
approaching vehicles...Pay close attention to people as they approach. Look for
their hands.'
CENTCOM Twitter, YouTube hack traced to Maryland, home of the
NSA --Goal is to ensure passage of
Orwellian CISPA (now
CISA), the spying gift, to the
NSA/US corporations | 12 Jan 2015 | The Twitter and YouTube accounts of
the Pentagon's command for its forces in the Middle East were hacked Monday,
according to U.S. Central Command. The command's Twitter and YouTube sites "were
compromised for approximately 30 minutes," a statement released by CENTCOM

Monday it had tracked the source of the hack to Maryland, but that was not
confirmed by official sources.
FBI has its fingers deep in NSA surveillance pie, declassified report
shows --Feds had a hand in PRISM,
too | 13 Jan 2015 | The FBI has a much closer involvement with the
NSA’s mass surveillance programs than previously thought, with access to raw
foreign intelligence and data on Americans gleaned from the PRISM program. The
231-page report, from the Department of Justice's Inspector General, was obtained --
albeit in a heavily redacted form -- after a Freedom of Information request by
The New York Times, a request made possible using key details leaked by
whistleblower Edward Snowden. The report finds that in 2008 -- almost since the
inception of the PRISM program, which allows the NSA access to citizens' information stored by
Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Yahoo! among others -- the FBI had
access to slurped private data.
MI5 chief seeks new powers after Paris magazine
attack --About 50% of MI5's work is
now devoted to counter-terrorism. | 8 Jan 2015 | The head of MI5,
Andrew Parker, has called for new powers to help fight Islamist extremism,
warning of a dangerous imbalance between increasing numbers of terrorist plots
against the UK and a drop in the capabilities of intelligence services to snoop
on communications. Speaking to an invited audience at MI5 headquarters, he said
the threat level to Britain had worsened and Islamist extremist groups in Syria
and Iraq were directly trying to orchestrate attacks on the UK. An attack on the
UK was "highly likely" and MI5 could not give a guarantee it would be able to
stop it, he said.
Militants planning mass casualty attacks against West; MI5 wants more
spying powers | 9 Jan 2015 | The head of
Britain's domestic spy agency MI5 warned on Thursday that militant Islamists in
Syria were planning "mass casualty attacks" in the West and that intelligence
services may be powerless to stop them. "We know...that a group
of core al-Qaeda [al-CIAduh] terrorists in Syria is planning mass casualty
attacks against the West," Andrew Parker told journalists in London a day after
an Islamist attack in Paris claimed 12 lives. [Wait, how does he know
this?] Parker called for wider powers to identify and monitor suspects,
following a backlash against the security services after the extent of their
snooping was exposed by Edward Snowden, a former National Security Agency
contractor.

BBC reporter faces calls to resign after he says 'Palestinians suffer
hugely at Jewish hands as well' | 12 Jan
2015 | A BBC reporter has faced calls to resign after he told the daughter of
Holocaust survivors in Paris: 'Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as
well'. Journalist Tim Willcox sparked anger [and praise] during his coverage of
yesterday's rally in Paris, held in memory of the 17 victims of last week's
terror attacks, including four Jewish people in a siege at a Kosher supermarket.
Willcox has today apologised for his comments, taking to Twitter to say he had
not meant to cause offence. He wrote: 'Really sorry for any offence caused by a
poorly phrased question in a live interview in Paris yesterday - it was entirely
unintentional.'
Where's Charlie? Israel arrests, extends detention without charge of
Palestinian cartoonist | 21 Feb 2013 | An
Israeli court yesterday extended the detention of Palestinian cartoonist Mohammad
Saba'aneh, who has been held since Saturday
without charge or access to his lawyer, according to news reports. The Committee
to Protect Journalists calls on authorities to immediately release the political
cartoonist and allow him access to his lawyer. The military court extended
Saba'aneh's detention for nine days, the Palestinian Center for Development and
Media Freedoms(MADA) told CPJ. Israeli authorities said they were investigating
the cartoonist for providing services to unspecified "hostile organizations,"
according to Saba'aneh's employer, the Palestinian daily Al-Hayat
al-Jadida, which cited the cartoonist's lawyer. Saba'aneh works as a
political cartoonist for Al-Hayat al-Jadida, and has depicted imprisoned Palestinians in his most recent
cartoons.

send a brigade of tanks and fighting vehicles into Europe by the end of this

F.B.I. and Justice Dept. Said to Seek Felony Charges for
Petraeus | 9 Jan 2015 | The F.B.I. and
Justice Department prosecutors have recommended bringing felony charges against
David H. Petraeus, contending that he provided classified information to a lover
while he was director of the C.I.A., officials said, leaving Attorney General
Eric H. Holder Jr. to decide whether to seek an indictment that could send the
pre-eminent military officer of his generation to prison. The Justice Department
investigation stems from an affair Mr. Petraeus had with Paula Broadwell, an
Army Reserve officer who was writing his biography, and focuses on whether he
gave her access to his C.I.A. email account and other highly classified
information. Mr. Petraeus, a retired four-star general who served as commander
of American forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan, has said he never provided
classified information to Ms. Broadwell, and has indicated to the Justice
Department that he has no interest in a plea deal that would spare him an
embarrassing trial.
1 dead, 84 others taken to
hospitals after hundreds evacuated from L'Enfant Plaza Metro station and train
due to heavy smoke | 13 Jan 2015 | One
woman died, two passengers were in critical condition, a firefighter was
seriously hurt and dozens more suffered lesser injuries after heavy smoke filled
a Metro train and the tunnel at L'Enfant Plaza station, authorities said Monday
evening. Hundreds of people were evacuated about 3:30 p.m. as thick smoke filled
the rail tunnel at one of the busiest Metro locations in the city. The source of
the smoke remained unknown Monday night and the closed station was being
ventilated. Emergency medical workers evaluated about 200 people following the
evacuation at a makeshift triage center set up along the street above. Those
needing further medial attention were taken by ambulances and buses to hospitals
in what the local firefighter's union called a "mass casualty"
event.
Democrats Step Up Efforts to Block Obama's Trade
Agenda --The Trans-Pacific
Partnership, secretly negotiated by and for
corporations, is a trade 'deal' that would cost American jobs, weaken
[what's left of] food safety and financial regulations and undermine
environmental and labor standards. | 8 Jan 2015 | President Obama is
facing opposition from fellow
Democrats to one of his top priorities: winning the power to negotiate
international trade agreements and speed them through Congress. As Mr. Obama's
team [of corpora-terrorists, Wall Street trolls, and sociopaths] works privately to line up
support for the so-called trade promotion authority, a coalition of Democratic
lawmakers and activists from organized labor, environmental, religious and civil
rights groups is stepping up efforts to stop him. "Fast track would be yet
another insult to the American worker," Representative Rosa DeLauro, Democrat of
Connecticut, said on Thursday at a news conference on Capitol Hill, where she
predicted the effort's defeat. "It will not happen. We are not going to do
it."
Wildfires Leave Cuddly Australian Critters With Singed
Paws --These Injured Koalas Really
Need Your Mittens | 8 Jan 2015 | The International Fund for Animal
Welfare has put out a plea for cotton
mittens to help recovering koalas whose paws were
burned during recent bushfires in Australia. Thanks to record heat [global
warming] -- the country experienced its third-warmest year on record in
2014--bushfires have blazed through many regions...High temperatures have been
forcing koalas out of the woods, but many of the slow-moving marsupials fail to
escape the flames. According to BBC News, koalas and hundreds of other
animals have died in the Adelaide bushfires. Aaron Machado, president of the
Australian Marine Wildlife Research and Rescue Organization, said that koalas
left on their own face starvation and infection. "Koalas don't have immune
systems, so the risk of death from infection is very high," he told BBC
News.
South Australia fires: 'Hundreds' of
animals dead | 7 Jan 2015 | Hundreds of
animals are believed to have been killed in South Australia since bushfires
began burning out of control in the Adelaide Hills last Friday...The Australian
Marine Wildlife Research & Rescue Organisation (AMWRRO) has treated the
burnt paws of a young male koala brought to its Torrens Island centre 15km
northwest of Adelaide. The koala, found in the Adelaide Hills, would likely have
died if it had not been rescued, AMWRRO President Aaron Machado told the
BBC.
Gag me with a chainsaw: Romney moves to reassemble campaign apparatus for
2016 | 12 Jan 2015 | Mitt Romney is moving
quickly to reassemble his national political network, spending the weekend and
Monday calling former aides, donors and other supporters... Romney's message was
that he is serious about making a 2016 presidential bid. He told one senior
Republican he "almost certainly will" run in what would be his third campaign
for the White House, this person said. His aggressive outreach over the past
three days indicates that Romney's declaration of
interest to a group of donors in New York Friday was
more than the release of a trial balloon but rather was the start of a concerted
push by the 2012 nominee to be an active participant in the 2016
campaign.
Mitt Romney Says He's Considering a 2016 Presidential
Run | 9 Jan 2015 | Mitt Romney, the 2012
Republican presidential nominee, told a group of donors in New York on Friday

to the party's fin-nciers that they should not yet commit to Jeb Bush.
Calif. AG Harris to Run for Boxer's Senate
Seat | 12 Jan 2015 | California Attorney
General Kamala Harris plans to run for Barbara Boxer's seat in the Senate,
making her the first to join what's expected to be a crowded field of candidates
vying for the long-time senator's job, the Associated Press reported, citing a
source. Harris's plans emerged just hours after Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, a former
San Francisco mayor who was considered a potential frontrunner, said that he
would not run for Boxer's seat. Boxer announced last week that she plans to step
down at the end of her current term, setting the stage for the California's
first open Senate seat race in more than 20 years.
Following another assault charge, George Zimmerman ordered to
surrender firearms |
10 Jan 2015 | George Zimmerman, who became a folk hero to some after he beat a
murder rap in the killing of an unarmed black teenager, has been ordered to
surrender his weapons after being arrested for a third time for domestic
violence. Mr. Zimmerman, who told the Orlando Sentinel last fall that he's
jobless, homeless and broke, was arrested in Lake Mary, Fla., on Friday night
for aggravated assault. Although he has had several run-ins with the law since
his 2013 acquittal in the killing of Trayvon Martin, this was the first time
after the verdict that a judge ordered him to surrender his
arms.
