LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Indiana State Police say a Seymour man was killed in a car accident late Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened on US 50 near CR 240W at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in North Vernon.
Officials say Michael Healy, 25, was traveling west on US 50 in a gray 2009 Toyota SUV.
Authorities say for unknown reasons, the truck crossed the line into the east lane and struck a red 1998 Chevy truck head-on. Police say two people were inside the Chevy truck.
The Toyota SUV was sent into the air and landed on top of the Chevy truck, trapping both of its occupants inside, according to officials.
Police say Healy was extricated from the Toyota SUV and taken to Jennings Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The male driver of the Chevy truck was flown to U of L Hospital after being rescued from the truck. The driver's status is currently unknown.
The female passenger of the Chevy truck was also flown to U of L Hospital. Authorities say the female passenger's injuries are considered non-life threatening.
