Obama calls for international tax reform amid Panama Papers revelations

Let's not forget that President Obama has waged war against Whistleblowers.

It's great that he's calling for this... but the Panama issue was made possible because... drum roll please... a deal exactly like TPP.
The media calls these "trade deals" -- the truth is that they're not trade deals. They're extraction deals -- used by the elites around the world to plunder from working people.
The Panama deal of a few years ago, like TPP and all of these big deals, were incredibly lax on tax issues -- designed to enable elites to hide money and make it difficult for governments to catch fraud or abuse.
If the President is serious about this reform, he should immediately call for new negotiations on TPP that put serious teeth on finance and tax issues.
