A $ 25 million write-down of taxes in bankruptcy proceedings involving Donald Trump might not be all that unusual, despite media reports questioning its propriety, experts tell Tax Analysts.
The New York Times, in an August 16 article, reported that New Jersey agreed to settle a $ 30 million multiyear tax dispute with bankrupt casinos founded by Trump for just $ 5 million shortly after Gov. Chris Christie (R) took office.
