From Gandhi To Catalans, The Revolutionary Movement Of Peacemakers
by Nozomi Hayase

Recently, leading up to the independence referendum on October 1 in Catalonia, Spain’s richest province, Spanish police engaged full force to stop the voting. WikiLeaks founder and editor in chief Julian Assange, who has remained confined to the Ecuadorian embassy in London for more than five years, acknowledged the peaceful act of self-determination by the Catalonian people in facing this police violence. Calling it “the most disciplined Gandhian project since Gandhi,” he said that “its results will spread everywhere.” Peace is a revolutionary force that largely remains untapped. by Ahmad Al-Bazz

There are currently only two dedicated cinemas in continuous operation in Palestinian cities in the West Bank – Cinema City, opened in Nablus in 2009, and Palestine Tower, opened in Ramallah in 2014. Other cinemas throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip have been shuttered – some of them demolished – and others turned into wedding halls or garages. Some Palestinian cities have never had a proper movie theater.

Pain
by K P Sasi

The pain in my mind
Affect my body.
The pain in my body
Affect my mind.
Wonder whether these two
Had arranged marriage
Or love marriage.
Since I remain single
I am trying to keep away
From these two idiots.

Redefining Pain
by Anitha S

This forced rest, recuperation and recovery also made me reflect on myself. And pain and the redefining of pain along with the understanding of the marvel called the human body together with the human hands and mind that work to repair it…it was a reconnaissance about Anitha- my past, present and future!

Imagine the story, the internal struggle of a new born baby born with hearing loss? For an instant, the magnitude of future and its impact on this new born child cannot be envisaged. Now imagine, how many such children are actually suffering worldwide? Quite astonishingly, a large percentage of 360 million people worldwide who suffer from deafness are young, innocent toddlers. Tragic, indeed!
