A Day To Celebrate!

This is truly a day for casino opponents in Middleboro and surrounding towns to celebrate the stake being driven through the heart of the casino vampire with the SCOTUS decision in Carcieri v Kempthorne!
.
Friend and fellow blogger, Gladys Kravitz has kept up with the memorable articles and comments -- The Dreams That You Dare To Dream...
.
To Gladys,
.
We salute you for always being there with humor and ALWAYS believing.
.
To Scotty,
.
Inevitable, you say?
.
To Glenn,
.
You're going to prison for committing crimes to get a casino built that now has a snowball's chance in Hell of being built.
.
I hear they teach how to build widgets in prison.
.
Let the indictments begin!
.
.
Here's what other fellow bloggers had to say about the victory --

Wonder what the casino supporters are doing tonight?

Mimi the casino isn't coming. You can resign now. Don't forget to tell Helen she won't get rich from her land sale.

Isn't Vegas Val going to be disappointed?

You forgot about Hal, the 'I'm against casinos' psycho babble therapist.

To Wayne Perkins and Jack Healey?

What say you?

How about "Easy come. Easy go." ?

Of Wayne Perkin's oft repeated quote that towns in CT with casinos don't pay taxes --

Damn! That means Middleboro will have to pay taxes?

Where is Jack Healey's Fuzzy Math when the town is confronted with a $4 million shortfall?

Much can be said of backroom deals that exclude public input.

Maybe we can focus on electing qualified candidates in April instead of packing the Board with casino supporters who care about little else.

In all of the articles there isn't a single quote from Wayne Perkins or Jack Healey, backroom dealmakers of this fiasco.

How long will it be before someone reveals who Vegas Val is? LL knows. What else does he know?

We have friends who live near the casinos in Connecticut and have shared their horror stories with us.
This is beyond the best news we have heard to stop the uncontrolled spread of reservations.
Casinos aren't about tribes they're about investors and lazy people collecting money for not working.
You and everyone else have comented on the problems with Soverign Nations and the destruction they cause that suporters don't listen to.
The ilegal laborers have destroyed the school systems because the towns can't afford to pay for the teachers and the state isn't increasing the money.
The increased crime and accidents have paralyzed police and fire.
Free alcohol to keep patrons at slot machines and tables 24/7 makes the roads unsafe because of the drunks at all hours and the casinos have no liability. There's no way to stop the problem. They're not like a commercial venture that you can sue or the risks its liquor license.
The crime on reservation property isn't reported or prosecuted.
There are no small businesses to support town government because they can't compete and with the heavy traffic headed to the casinos you can't drive around.
The constant buses destroy the roads and the towns can't repair them.
Everyone who could afford to get out before things got so bad and values were destroyed did.
The hut houses have destroyed neighborhoods.
Reservations spread and can't be stopped.
SCOTUS deserves applause for doing what's right and stopping abuse.
The Mashpee Wampanoag have no ties to Middleborough. They just see money.
It isn't about heritage. It's about greed and corruption.

Steve,
We made the mistake of voting for you last time and it won't happen again.
Mr. Sollamini asked questions that I would have liked to ask but am afraid to talk at your meetings. After the way you yelled at him my fear was right.
You betrayed voters with your tantrum. You were wrong to accept gifts. You were wrong to attend those events. The Wampanoags aren't coming but I can't trust your judgement next time.

Scotty was quoted in the paper today. Must still be on the payroll. Oh, wait! What payroll? They may have to repay the money. Oops!

The casino supporters seem to have gone mostly underground. A cave maybe? The next bos meeting will be a pleasure. Will they serve crow at the fire chief's celebration?

More information is coming out. You'll all be surprised.

Bozo's not a smart as he thinks and now immersed to his ears.

Keep a watchful eye for Dog, Bounty Hunter whose got it more correct about Mr./Ms Drama Queen than wild guesses about your internet love affair with the A-bomb. The plot's unravelling. Only a matter of time. It's over.

RICO anyone? A-bomb not so smart either. Pity MB and RY got snookered by a con man.

Mimi didn't come clean. The feds know. Can your hear the papers shuffling, Mimi? Only a matter of time. Steve's just a deadhead. There are more surprises. Ask AB.

Truth - Thanx for the circulation.

Truth - The Feds are about to indict a local.

Truth - There's more to come.

LL has been spiling his guts and teling all. Figgured oout he was used.

The pros are being delusional about this issue and think there's hope.
Did you see the Cape Cod Times artical about the contract with the investors? There's an expiration date at which the tribe has to pay back the money they've squandered on Glenn Marshall's defense, too many attorneys, too many lobbyists, excessive salaries, Gayle Andrews PR.

There is no expiration date on the IGA. So for all their slick attorneys, McDermitt didn't include an expiration date for the $250K? They don't own the land. Just the contract.

So now what's up with the town planner that HAD to dedicate ALL HER WORKING hours on the casino detail project and the town agreed to hire an assistant for the WORK LOAD? Is the town STILL going to CONTINUE to pay the helper that the planner so desperately needed and GOT on the TAXPAYERS MONEY? I'd still like to know exactly what Brian knew that he resigned so abruptly. He was GUN HO FOR THE CASINO.
