Support spay/neuter programs!
Below are some on the KILL LIST --
On the left is Oliver a 8 month old neutered male looking for a forever home! He is a sweetheart and a lovebug! On the right is Jolby a 2 year old neutered male also looking for a forever home! He is a little shy, but with some time and love we are sure he will come out of his shell. We would prefer these two to go to a home together since they came in together, but if not possible can go to different homes. If anyone is interested in these two please call the clinic at 508-947-9400. Thanks!

We had to make a few amendments. Here is an updated "good with cats" list. Meow!
Dumped at a shelter in critical condition. Fluffy continues to be on oxygen and needs our help!
http://hendrickboards.com/s/ fluffy
**UPDATE: Fluffy is holding stable with no fever, normal blood counts and is eating and defecating normally. His neurological symptoms seem to be holding steady with a forehead twitch. It's The Pits Dog Rescue is working with the vet to move Fluffy out of the oxygen chamber by reducing his oxygen levels everyday. Their hope is if they can get him off the oxygen they can move him to a foster home. At this point they still need help with his veterinarian costs which are still at $1,000 a day.
... Fluffy was dumped in critical condition at a local high kill shelter. Fluffy had been diagnosed with severe distemper, causing vomiting and diarrhea, dehydration, labored breathing, loss of appetite, and weight loss. He is also showing neurological symptoms which indicates incontinence may ensue. His care is over $1,000.00 a day one 24/7 critical care unit and oxygen chamber. Please help us raise the funds needed to see Fluffy get the second chance at life he deservers!
With one shirt you can help Fluffy survive!

DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed.
For more information on a particular dog, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go unnoticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.

Whoever said that "getting old isn't for wimps," definitely spoke the truth. It's no easier to be a senior kitty than it is to be a senior person, although it is far too easy to get rid of a senior kitty by dumping them into the ACC system. Buttons is a 16-year-old sweetie who had lived with her former owner for the past 13 years. Owner and kitty grew older together, but her former person cannot care for Buttons any longer so Buttons is now trying to catch someone's attention from the euth list. Buttons has no teeth, prefers familiar faces to the faces of strangers, and has been given a New Hope rating because she's bereft in her current circumstances. Please help find someone who can give this lovely lady the dignified, loving home she deserves. Advocate for Buttons tonight.

DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the cat. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the cats’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the cat. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how animals fall through the cracks and end up being killed.
For more information on a particular cat, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.

8 months old and already on death row. Sophie is a young, gorgeous gal who was living on the streets with her pal Isabella (already adopted), making it the best way they could when someone decided to trap them and dump them at the ACC. Sophie is still so young, and now all alone. She doesn't understand where Isabella is, why they couldn't spay her and return her to the streets. What we know is that because she is afraid (and rightfully so), she now has a death sentence. This young lady should have the rest of her life before her. But without our help, tomorrow will be the end. Please, start networking Sophie now!!!

At the ACC, Freedom is terrified & is in full self-defense mode, which he demonstrates by retreating, growling & hissing in fear for his life. Sure enough, he was slapped with the less-than-positive New Hope Only behavior rating & quickly added to tomorrow's kill list. Don't let Freedom die abandoned, alone & afraid!
Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions

Great news update: according to Noah's Ark Rescue, Freckles has had a few good days and he's slowly becoming more animated and well enough to begin physical therapy! ""best news of all (besides him wagging his tail) is that he has started talking to us." Watch Freckles' new video here: http://www.dogheirs.com/ tamara/posts/ 3025-abused-pit-bull-dragged-be hind-car-and-found-in-dumpster -fighting-for-his-life
A young Pit bull named Freckles was found in a dumpster after he was apparently fed metal objects and coins, dragged behind a vehicle for a long distance and fi...nally left for dead. His rescuers say that Freckles has a spark of life in him and that as long as he is fighting, Noah's Ark Rescue will do what they can for him.
