Comcast wants to merge with Time-Warner, which would make Comcast the largest
cable and internet provider for over 60% of the nation. That's an immense amount
of ownership and consolidation in an already quasi-monopolistic market--and
without strong net neutrality rules, this could be horrible for
consumers. FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler must deny this merger. Please sign and send a message to the FCC before the October 8 deadline. In a recent speech Wheeler made a few statements which, if he believes them to be true, suggests he must deny the merger. “Meaningful competition for high-speed wired broadband is lacking and Americans need more competitive choices for faster and better connections, both to take advantage of today’s new services, and to incentivize the development of tomorrow’s innovations.”We need Tom Wheeler to follow this logic and deny this merger, but once again we are up against the lobbyists of one of the most powerful companies. Please, send the petition demanding the FCC deny this awful merger. Keep fighting, Rachel Colyer Senior Campaign Director, Daily Kos |
