Kuwait Experiences The Highest Temperature With World Under Heat Waves
by Dr Vivek Kumar Srivastava
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/kuwait-experiences-the-highest-temperature-with-world-under-heat-waves/
The World Meteorological Organization(WMO), a specialized UN agency has decided to constitute a committee to know whether Kuwait’s Mitrabah had experienced the hottest day with the temperature 54.0°C; the temperature is the highest for the eastern hemisphere. T

by Nilantha Ilangamuwa
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/tears-of-guantanamo-dear-slahi-on-your-release/
Wonderful, the news were flashes while stating that you are cleared for the release! But the questions arise over and over. 14 years or otherwise 5110 days of your life was behind the bars with no charge in the Guantanamo prison, one of the most deplorable and ruinous places in present days.
The Scourge Of Youth Detention: The Northern Territory, Torture, And Australia’s Detention Disease
by Dr Binoy Kampmark
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/the-scourge-of-youth-detention-the-northern-territory-torture-and-australias-detention-disease/
It was an image that would not have been out of place in the sickly procession of pictures that came out of Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo Bay during the ill-fated and misnamed war on terror. Here was a young man, seated, strapped in and euphemistically “restrained,” verging on catatonic; on his head, a suffocating bag.

My Daughter Sends Joy To Gaza
by Rami Almeghari
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/my-daughter-sends-joy-to-gaza/
My wife, who still struggles but is able to hold up with medication and painkillers, became flush with joy and looked more like her old self than she has in a long time. She rushed into the kitchen and instructed our son to run out to buy some ingredients so that she could bake a cake for the occasion.
Homeland Terror
by Linh Dinh
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/homeland-terror/
You are to conclude that Muslims can’t even stand each other, you see, so they’ll kill just about anybody. A key aim of the War on Terror is to spread terror everywhere, so that the state, that master of terror, can be everywhere.
Chilcot Report And The Iraq War
by M Mohibul Haque
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/chilcot-report-and-the-iraq-war/
The Chilcot report should also be a reminder to all those who are engaged in senseless violence in the Middle East and other parts of the world that the truth prevails over the bundles of lies spoken cleverly even by the most influential people and there is always enough space for getting justice with peaceful means. And that the people of the United States, the U.K. and of other countries have nothing to do with the decisions made by their leaders who lied to them, and therefore, these people should not be made the target of attack for the crime they have not committed at all.
The Psychology Of Ideology And Religion
by Robert J Burrowes

Two of the drivers of world affairs that manifest in the daily decisions that affect our lives are ideology and religion.
Why “Bad Cops” Are Not The Real Issue
by Rebecca Centeno
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/why-bad-cops-are-not-the-real-issue/
I’m hoping these comments will bring some analysis to 5 seemingly innocuous but misguided words: “Not all cops are bad” and “good cops versus bad cops”. If you’re in the company of someone who says this or posts this on social media, and if you have seen and heard this as much as I have lately, then perhaps it’s time to deconstruct these phrases and start calling them out.
Trump And Manzanar
by Marc Norton
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/trump-and-manzanar/
On the first day of the Republican National Convention, while Republican delegates were arguing about voting rules, and the anti-Trump delegates were being put in their place, I was touring the Manzanar War Relocation Center in the California desert. An historic marker at the entrance to Manzanar reads, “May the injustices and humiliation suffered here as a result of hysteria, racism and economic exploitation never emerge again.”
The Present Dire State Of Bangladesh
by Habibul Islam
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/the-present-dire-state-of-bangladesh/
Without any sliver of doubt it can be unequivocally declared that almost the entire fault for the enhanced mayhem—with its concomitant loss of precious lives—in Bangladesh should justifiably be laid at the door of the Awami League administration, regardless of whatever fiction government honchos might regurgitate.

Political Battles Need Bigger Social Coalition
by Vidya Bhushan Rawat
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/political-battles-need-bigger-social-coalition/
When the people can not join a protest in the heart of Delhi in the name of atrocities on Dalits and focus on honking on your caste identities then we must understand that the real battle in India is castes which are over 5000 and each caste has its own perception. What ever political identity we give in our discourse, at the end of the day, caste is a double edged sword
Kashmiri People Demand A Political Solution To A Political Problem!
by Lok Raj Sangathan
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/kashmiri-people-demand-a-political-solution-to-a-political-problem/
Lok Raj Sangathan is of the opinion that the problems facing the people of Kashmir cannot be dismissed as “law and order” problems which can be “solved” only by Army rule. The problems facing Kashmir and her people are political problems. They demand a political solution. State terrorism and army rule in Kashmir must be immediately ended, AFSPA repealed and the army withdrawn to its barracks. Only then can a political solution be possible in Kashmir.
Integrated TB-HIV Responses Are A Must To Meet Sustainable Development Goals
by Shobha Shukla
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/07/27/integrated-tb-hiv-responses-are-a-must-to-meet-sustainable-development-goals/
At the 2015 United Nations General Assembly, governments committed to achieve SDGs by 2030, one of which is to end AIDS and TB by 2030. If people living with HIV continue to die of TB, we will not only fail to achieve SDGs but also lose gains made in the fights against HIV and TB
