UK House of Commons Members Spectacularly Humiliate Donald Trump (VIDEO)
During question time on Monday members of the UK House of Commons brilliantly mocked President-elect Donald Trump while trying to determine who Prime Minister Theresa May should choose for U.S. Ambassador.
Also Monday, President-elect Donald Trump tweeted that he thought Prime Minister Theresa May should choose Nigel Farage of Great Britain for UK’s Ambassador to the United States. Despite the fact that Farage is an Independent party member, which rivals the Conservative Party, Prime Minister Theresa May’s party.
The President-elect’s suggestion by way of social media goes directly against the unspoken rule. It’s not standard for foreign leaders to offer their thoughts on whom other countries appoint to serve as ambassadors.
The response from the British MPs to President-elect Donald Trump was sassy and laced with sarcasm. Sir Simon Burns asked Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson:
‘Although there is no vacancy, would the foreign secretary think it extremely general of Donald Trump to suggest who should be our ambassador.‘And in that measure of fraternity, might he suggest that the best person to fill the vacancy of the ambassador to the United Kingdom next year would be Hillary Rodham Clinton?’
In response Johnson responded:
‘As the house knows full well, we have a first rate ambassador in Washington.’
At this point there were shouts of, “here, here” from the assembly.
Johnson continued:
‘…doing a very good job of relating both with the present administration and with the administration to be, and there is no vacancy for that position.’
David Winnick, Labour MP, also provided his own suggestion, offering that actor Brandon Victor Dixon, from Broadway’s Hamilton, would be a great choice to fill the role of ambassador.
Needless to say, our President-elect Donald J. Trump is the laughing stock of Britain, among other countries. Perhaps Tweeting your opinion to world leaders isn’t the best idea when you’ve been elected as President.
