The security of the US based on dependency of foreign energy sources, the expense of defending BIG OIL, invading an ever-increasing number of countries to assure fuel for our lifestyles and the environmental degradation take a back seat to Climate Change.

Much has been written about us, as a species having delayed and waited too long to correct our behavior and avoid the devastation caused by GLOBAL WARMING.

The Apollo Allliance estimated THREE MILLION new jobs through an improved Energy Plan that could be included in the proposed Economy Stimulus Plan.

Better to have alternative energy that creates jobs and reduces our dependence of foreign energy than a lump sum payment!

On the state level, we seem to have laggards among the DON'T SPOIL MY VIEW crowd that even the EmptyPrize has noticed.

Isn't Senator Kerry running for re-election? Maybe it's time for the Senator to represent the people of Massachusetts.

When you speak with your Senators, don't forget to remind them that you are aware of their position on Cape Wind.

-- Thumbs down: To Sen. John Kerry for not taking positions on such important issues to his home state like casino gambling and the Cape Wind power project. Kerry claimed he is a staunch advocate for wind energy, but said it is too early to take a position for or against a proposed wind farm in Nantucket Sound. No it isn't. Kerry just doesn't want to alienate all the rich people on Nantucket who are opposed to it for no other reason than that it would be in their view. As for the casino plans, we can hardly think of any politician, from the governor on down, who hasn't taken a position. But Kerry claimed it was strictly a state and local issue, which it isn't. These evasions follow Kerry's well-worn path straight down the middle, either not taking a stand or changing positions depending which way the wind is blowing (pun intended).

US Senator John McCain has become the first Republican presidential candidate to endorse the Cape Wind project proposed for Nantucket Sound.
McCain was approached by this reporter after he spoke last night at a town hall forum in Amherst, N.H. (as shown in photo). Asked if he supported the Cape Wind project, McCain said that "absolutely I'm for it," describing himself as a "strong supporter."
"Except for the fact that maybe it spoils somebody's view," McCain said, a clear allusion to Senator Edward Kennedy's opposition to Cape Wind, "what in the world would you be opposed to it for?"

McCain was instrumental last year in thwarting an effort by Kennedy, aided by Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens and Congressman Don Young (architects of the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere") in their attempt to derail Cape Wind through backroom machinations in Congress.
McCain's position on Cape Wind puts him at odds with fellow GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, a former Bay State governor who opposes the wind farm.
Speaking Saturday afternoon at the "Global Warming and Energy Solutions" conference in Manchester, N.H., McCain described the energy policies he would pursue as president, as did Richardson when he addressed the conference on Friday.
