.
A Middleboro voter indicated that when he and his partner went to the COA to vote in the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, one of the pair was unable to vote because the party designation had not been changed as indicated on their census form.
.
The Town Clerk's Office indicated census forms are opened daily as they are received.
.
If a change of party designation was indicated, the Town Clerk's Office would have mailed out a CHANGE OF DESIGNATION FORM to be completed and returned, as long as it reasonably could have been mailed and returned by January 16th.
.
Since the Presidential Primary date was changed, the date by which those changes had to be made was January 16th.
.
In fairness, the Town Clerk's Office and Board of Registrars work hard to fulfill their responsibilities with minimal staff.
.
Hopefully, that has clarified a confusing process.
