Please sign this petition demanding to know why an ultra-wealthy, convicted child rapist avoided jail




Sign the petition to the Delaware state legislature—demanding they hold hearings on how an ultra-wealthy, admitted child rapist avoided a single day of jail time.

Robert H. Richards IV—an heir of the duPont family—pled guilty to raping his 3-year-old daughter. But he served no jail time whatsoever, and is currently on probation.

Why? Because prosecutors offered a deal with no jail time, and Superior Court Judge Jan R. Jurden wrote in her sentencing memo that he “will not fare well in prison.”

Even Richards’ own lawyer called him a “rich, white boy” and a “child perv,” and that he could not be “protected” while in prison.

In other words, prison is just for poor people.

We cannot give wealthy criminals a pass while low-income people serve time behind bars.
