A driver and passenger were temporarily trapped, but ultimately uninjured, after their car hit a pole at a Subway restaurant Wednesday morning.
Fire officials said firefighters, police and EMTs responded at about 11:30 a.m to the Subway in the shopping center at 90 River St. to a report of a car crash. Officials said a man lost control of his [TOYOTA]car in the parking lot and drove into the walkway that runs between the lot and the shopping center.
The driver and one passenger were trapped inside the car because the driver had wedged the vehicle between the pole and the building. First responders removed the two from the car, fire officials said.
The Building Department was called to assess structural damage to the building.
