FY2014 Local Aid Estimates
After acting on various amendments to the Senate Ways and Means (SWM) Committee budget, the Senate approved its final FY2014 proposed budget last night. The final Senate budget amends outside section 112 of the SWM's proposal and authorizes up to $21.25 million in additional funding for Unrestricted General Government Aid for cities and towns. Since the funding source is the consolidated net surplus for FY2013, the extent to which these funds will be available will not be known until the state's books are closed. Consequently, this additional funding has not been included in the Senate final estimates. Other amendments increase Regional School Transportation reimbursements by $2 million, State Owned Land reimbursements by $1 million and Local Share of Racing Taxes by $1.15 million. Estimates for other cherry sheet accounts are unchanged from the original SWM estimates.
Updated local aid estimates have been posted to the Division of Local Services website at the link below:

Please be aware that these estimates are
subject to change as the state budget process progresses. In particular, final
Charter School and School Choice assessments may change significantly when
updated with final tuition rates.
