Why did a GOP mega donor give $1 million to the Moderate PAC?

 

Have you seen this headline from The Intercept?

A GOP mega-donor and 🤑billionaire🤑 gave Moderate PAC $1,000,000 to stop us from recruiting the next slate of progressive primary challengers like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Summer Lee. 😱

So now we’re officially sounding the alarm. 🚨  we need your help to fight back against Moderate PAC and their GOP mega-donor — who also happens to be a billionaire.

Moderate PAC is coming after us because they’re threatened by our success. We recruited and helped elect AOC, Summer Lee, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman and in just a few short years have completely shifted the conversation about what’s politically possible in Washington.

But Moderate PAC plans to raise and spend $20 million against us and our candidates. Because our own fundraising has been steadily declining, we’re counting on you to help us counter this obscene amount of money they’re spending against us.
