Join the thousands of veterans, military family members and VoteVets supporters telling Ted Cruz there is no room for his kind of racism against Muslim-Americans who serve their country and their communities.


One of the most disturbing trends in the Republican presidential primary is their desire to one-up each other with racist and xenophobic attacks on Muslim-Americans. 

Ben Carson said Islam was not consistent with the Constitution. Donald Trump said he'd ban all Muslims from entering the United States. And the other day, Ted Cruz took it further than both of them when he said law enforcement should be patrolling and securing Muslim neighborhoods in the United States. 

If there is anything in conflict with the Constitution, it's proactively surveilling and patrolling the communities of law abiding citizens who have done nothing wrong. 

But here's the truth, and it's something everyone should know: today in the United States military, at least 6,000 Muslim-Americans serve on active duty and in the reserves, and that number is likely much higher. 

Muslim-Americans have fought for America in every U.S. War, from the Civil War, both World Wars, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Thousands more serve their communities as police officers and firefighters. 

It is important that we stand together -- veterans, military family members, and VoteVets supporters -- with one voice, to condemn Ted Cruz's racism: 

Join the thousands of veterans, military family members and VoteVets supporters telling Ted Cruz there is no room for that kind of racism against Muslim-Americans who serve their country and their communities. 

Earlier this year, Iraq War Veteran and VoteVets supporter Shahriar Chowdhury wrote you wondering if Republican presidential candidates would question his service to country. Or his cousins, a U.S. Marine currently serving. Or another cousin of his, an NYPD officer. 

But just as importantly, he noted that the hateful tone from Republican presidential candidates invites violence against people of color, something we've already seen at a number of Donald Trump rallies. 

That is why it is important for trusted members of our communities -- veterans, military family members, and those who support them -- stand up with one voice to condemn these attacks on many of the people who make our country great. 

Join the thousands of veterans, military family members and VoteVets supporters telling Ted Cruz there is no room for that kind of racism against Muslim-Americans who serve their country and their communities.

As the Nevada GOP primary caucus is underway, reports of an extramarital affair Rubio had with a Washington, D.C. lobbyist have surfaced.

Per sources in Florida, Marco Rubio – while serving as the Speaker of the Florida State House of Representatives – used an American Express credit card from the Florida Republican Party to pay for AT LEAST 17 separate trips for Rubio and lobbyist Amber Stoner. Strangely, she would frequently end up in the same destinations, at the same time:

The personal lives of candidates shouldn’t matter, but they do. That’s because when you are the Leader of the Free World, details like this can lead to unethical behavior and blackmail. This is a dangerous accusation that is about to explode just at the wrong time for Rubio.

emocratic White House hopeful Bernie Sanders knocked Donald Trump on Tuesday over his outspoken support for false claims that President Obama was not born in the United States. Sanders said the so-called birther movement is partly motivated by racism — but stopped short of saying that’s what drove the bombastic mogul to be its champion.

Sanders’ comments came in a CNN town hall event at which he was asked about Senate Republican promises to block any Obama nominee to fill the Supreme Court seat long held by the late Antonin Scalia.

“What you are seeing today in this Supreme Court situation is nothing more than the continuous and unprecedented obstructionism that President Obama has gone through” at the hands of Republicans, the Vermont senator said.

“This is on top of the birther issue, which we heard from Donald Trump and others, a racist effort to try to delegitimize the president of the United States,” Sanders continued.

Sanders said his father came from Poland but, “Guess what? Nobody has asked for my birth certificate. Maybe it’s the color of my skin, I don’t know.”

CNN’s Chris Cuomo asked the senator whether Trump was motivated by racism.

Sanders demurred.

“You know, I’m not a psychoanalyst — and boy, would a psychoanalyst have an interesting time with Donald Trump,” he said, to laughter from the crowd. “I’m not going to speak to Trump, but do I think that at least in some parts of that Republican base there is race involved in that? Absolutely. Absolutely.”

Back when Trump was fueling speculation he might run for president in 2012, the real estate developer repeatedly questioned whether Obama was born in Hawaii, at one point saying he had sent private investigators there. The president responded to the rekindled rumors by releasing his long-form birth certificate in April 2011.
