Arizona Governor Brewer: Penalizing the poor


This is monstrous.
 
States are allowed to use contingency funding or move money around to fund the cash-assistance payments, and other states have done so. In a letter to state welfare directors this week, federal officials said states would be reimbursed once the budget impasse is resolved. Arizona Is a "Kookocracy"

Inflammatory rhetoric and emotionally charged phrases may get the blood boiling, accomplish little and exaggerate a problem a taxpayer great expense.

The oppression we silently caused and ignored south of our border has returned to haunt us.

Sins of the Fathers? At least we got those bananas real cheap.

Just maybe we should consider how our actions caused our reality.  

Those banners are so much easier to wave than understanding our participation.

Border Folly
From Governor Jan Brewer to Sheriff Joe Arpaio to a Tea Party–dominated state legislature, no state deserves the tag “Kookocracy” as much as Arizona, and in Arizona there’s no bigger issue than immigration and border security. As immigration reform takes center stage in Washington, one man in Arizona is caught in the middle.
