Theresa May says another terror attack is feared to be imminent and orders soldiers onto Britain's streets to protect the public | 23 May 2017 | Theresa May has said a further terror attack 'may be imminent' as the terror threat level was raised to 'critical' for the first time since 2007. It comes after ISIS claimed responsibility for last night's terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert, which left 22 dead and 59 people injured...Speaking this evening, the Prime Minister said: 'The police have asked for authorisation to deploy a number of armed military personnel in support of their armed officers. This is known as Operation Tempora...The Secretary of State has approved this request and Operation Tempora is now in force.'
Manchester attack: UK threat level raised to highest | 23 May 2017 | The UK terror threat level has been raised to its highest level of "critical", meaning further attacks may be imminent, Theresa May has said. The move came after investigators were unable to rule out whether Manchester bombing suspect Salman Abedi acted alone, the prime minister said. Military personnel will now be deployed to protect key sites. The prime minister also confirmed the government had triggered "Operation Temperer", a long-standing emergency plan to put soldiers into key public locations to support armed police in protecting the public.
Manchester attack leaves 22 dead as ISIS claims responsibility for Ariana Grande arena gig suicide bombing | 23 May 2017 | AT least 22 are dead and 59 injured after a suicide bomber detonated himself at a pop concert in Manchester. Police confirmed children are among the dead following the blast after an Ariana Grande gig at the Manchester Arena. Thousands of youngsters had been at the US pop star's concert when the blast hit the foyer around 10.35pm last night...The bomber has been identified as UK-born Salman Abedi, 22. A 23-year-old has been arrested in South Manchester in connection with the incident.
Manchester Bomb Suspect Said to Have Had Ties to al Qaeda, Terrorism Training Abroad | 23 May 2017 | Salman Abedi, the 22-year-old British man believed to have killed 22 people in a suicide-bomb attack, had ties to al Qaeda [al-CIAduh] and had received terrorist training abroad, a U.S. intelligence official told NBC News on Tuesday as the United Kingdom raised its terrorist threat level to the highest category. Abedi had traveled to Libya within the last 12 months, one of multiple countries he had visited, the official said. And while he had "clear ties to al Qaeda," the official said, Abedi could have also had connections to other groups.
Huge cuts to food stamps part of Trump's budget proposal | 22 May 2017 | President Donald Trump's budget would drive millions of people off of food stamps, part of a new wave of spending cut proposals that already are getting panned by lawmakers in both parties on Capitol Hill. Trump's blueprint for the 2018 budget year comes out Tuesday. It includes a wave of cuts to benefit programs such as Medicaid, federal employee pensions, welfare benefits and farm agribusiness subsidies. All told, according to people familiar with the plan, Trump's budget includes $1.7 trillion over 10 years in cuts from such so-called mandatory programs.
Hannity on Seth Rich coverage: 'I retracted nothing' | 23 May 2017 | Fox News' Sean Hannity ripped his critics and the mainstream media on his nationally syndicated radio program Tuesday, saying, "I am not Fox.com or FoxNews.com, I retracted nothing." His reaction came hours after Fox News retracted a story regarding the 2016 killing of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, after massive outcry [by the Deep State and its media trolls] over sharing conspiracy theories about the 2016 murder. Right-wing news News outlets have sought to link -- without evidence [because the cover-up disallows the gathering of such evidence] -- the 27-year-old's death to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and the WikiLeaks release of hacked leaked emails from the campaign.
On World Turtle Day, Loggerhead Sea Turtle Released Off Florida Keys | 23 May 2017 | In celebration of World Turtle Day, a 200-pound male loggerhead sea turtle was released off the Florida Keys Tuesday, after convalescing for a month at the Marathon-based Turtle Hospital. Named by his rescuers, "Big Don" was found entangled in fishing line with wounds to his face and shoulder, and struggling to surface...Since its initiation in 2000, World Turtle Day brings awareness to encourages human action to help turtles and tortoises survive through education and knowledge.
Celebrate #WorldTurtleDay By Watching Amazing Sea Turtle Rescues | 23 May 2017 | Today is World Turtle Day, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about these majestic creatures and how we can help them. At the South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Center in Charleston, South Carolina, every day is turtle day. The staff at this center are cape-less heroes to sea turtles that are injured, ill or generally in need of help, rehabilitating the animals until they are strong enough to return to the ocean.
