DON'T BELIEVE!

I ask one thing: DON'T BELIEVE!

Bombing Syria was in violation of INTERNATIONAL LAW....well when did the US ever worry about that? As well as being UNCONSTITUTIONAL without the approval of Congress....Trump is NOT dick - tator yet.

There's an article about Libya's chemicals ending up in Syria [Seymour Hersh].

Syria is about a PIPELINE - another resource WAR.
If the US were promoting clean energy, this wouldn't be an issue.

The US also provided chemicals/WMD to Iran, smuggled through Israel - remember Iran-Contra when the CIA flooded the US with drugs? [check out Gary Webb for those unfamiliar]

Maybe Americans don't know what the US did, but those in the Middle East know.

Anyone remember that Daddy Bush was CIA Director? And then there's Ollie North....Fox News = Fake News hero with immunity.

Evidence indicates Syria did NOT bomb using chemicals, rather they hit a chemical storage facility.

Trump's support was tanking...what better than to BOMB?

And Ivanka, with her vast foreign policy and military experience convinced Dad to BOMB?

NO MORE WARS BASED ON LIES!
NO MORE WARS!

Customarily, I have the greatest respect for Fareed Zakaria, in this he is sorely mistaken.
It is truly baffling that the Corporate Media Propaganda Machines simply MARCH TO WAR without questioning the evidence.

Regrettably the United Nations has failed to even raise its voice.

A sad day!

Liberals have to avoid Trump Derangement Syndrome

 Opinion writer

I didn’t really believe that there was such a thing as Trump Derangement Syndrome — hatred of President Trump so intense that it impairs people’s judgment. It’s not that I didn’t notice the harsh, unyielding language against him — I’ve said a few tough things myself — but that throughout the campaign, Trump seemed to do things that justified it. Once elected, instead of calming down and acting presidential, he continued the stream of petty attacks, exaggerations and lies. His administration seemed marked by chaos and incompetence.
And then came the strike against Syria. On that issue, Trump appears to have listened carefully to his senior national security professionals, reversed his earlier positions, chosen a calibrated response and acted swiftly. I supported the strike and pointed out — in print and on air — that Trump was finally being presidential because the action “seems to reflect a belated recognition from Trump that he cannot simply put America first — that the president of the United States must act on behalf of broader interests and ideals.” On the whole, though, I was critical of Trump’s larger Syria policy, describing it as “incoherent.” My Post column was titled, “One missile strike is not a strategy.”
From the response on the left, you would have thought I had just endorsed Trump for pope. Otherwise thoughtful columnists described my views as “nonsense” and a sign that the media has “bent over backward” to support Trump. (Really?) One journalist declared on television, “If that guy could have sex with this cruise missile attack, I think he would do it.” A gaggle of former Obama speechwriters discussed how my comments were perhaps “the stupidest” of any given on the subject.

VoteVets.org,: We must question the president on war

Think About it:

FORMER DIA COLONEL: “US STRIKES ON SYRIA BASED ON A LIE”

VoteVets

All weekend, you couldn't turn on the television without hearing a talking head or politician praising Donald Trump for sending missiles into Syria.

Out of the 20 largest newspapers in the nation, 18 had good things to say about the attack. Even former Obama administration officials were praising the attack that happened without Congressional authorization.

At best, it was a minority opinion that President Trump should go to Congress for the authorization to use military force in Syria, and that his newfound concern for Syria's children should cause him to reconsider his refugee ban.

But here's what you need to know: it will often be hard to find anyone willing to questions the president's decisions to use force. But VoteVets will when we must. And when we do, there's no one more powerful than veterans and military families in that effort. But we can't do it alone.

Here's the truth: Donald Trump is a reckless, impulsive, and dangerous president.

That means our work, on this issues and many others, has never been more important. And so far we've been quite effective. Your support makes that possible.

All our best,

- The team at VoteVets

Four-star general says humanitarian aid would be so much more effective than PR missile strikes

He's just spitballing ideas, and every single one is better than what we have in the White House
Four-star general says humanitarian aid would be so much more effective than PR missile strikes

A few hours before the wealthy orange barbarian Donald Trump decided to blow things up in order to stop the disastrous coverage of his equally disastrous presidency, Chris Matthews had four-star Army General Barry McCaffrey on his show Hardball. Gen. McCaffrey was there to discuss the Trump administration’s clear overtures of imminent U.S. military action in Syria. Gen. McCaffrey was asked about the merits of a small scale missile strike, like the one that actually ended up happening last night.

McCaffrey: The question is has the Trump white house written down the political objectives they are trying to achieve through military force? And if we're signaling displeasure to killing people with chemical weapons, there will be a consequence of that strike that will achieve nodecisive results in this ongoing war. A half million have been murdered. Self-propelled artillery tanks, AK-47s. Now we're going to respond withmilitary power over 100 people murdered with chemical weapons? I'm not too sure there's clarity in what they're trying to achieve.
Matthews: What would be the reason for a military person in the situation or wherever at the Pentagon to recommend, if it is such a limited strike, what would be the argument for it except, you know, P.R.?
McCaffrey: Well, I don't think there is an argument. I think it would be a mistake to conduct limited political signaling using naval air power or F-16s flying out of someplace in the region. I do believe there's a chance that Mattis will table—the secretary of defense—an option to eliminate the Syrian air force. The Russians will not confront U.S. Air force and naval air in air combat. We probably would kill some ofthem, but I think they would probably step aside. Now, the consequences of that, though, might be Iranian revolutionary guards killing soldiers, U.S. Soldiers in Iraq. Hezbollah going after the Israelis. So military power invites unknown consequences when you carry it out. The question might be, why don't we consider significant humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees in border regions of Turkey and Jordan and Iraq, in lieu of ineffective military strikes.
That’s just a small bit of the thinking that clearly wasn’t involved in last night’s public relations event.

Putin believes US attack on Syria violates international law - spokesman | 07 April 2017 | President Putin "regards the strikes as aggression against a sovereign nation," his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, noting that the president believes the strikes were carried out "in violation of international law, and also under an invented pretext." Peskov also insisted that "the Syrian army doesn't have chemical weapons," saying this had been "observed and confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, a special UN unit." Putin sees the US missile strike on Syria as an attempt to distract attention from civilian casualties in Iraq, Peskov added.

Speaking to RT Arabic, Talal al-Barazi said the majority of victims of the missile strike carried out by the United States on Friday morning had been local villagers. "Undoubtedly, the American attack on the Shayrat air force base was aimed at supporting terrorist groups and weakening the fighting capacity of the army of the Syrian Army, which is fighting the terrorists," Barazi told RT. "According to recent reports, the attack resulted in the deaths of five soldiers and nine civilians and the wounding of thirteen women and children who were in the nearby Shayrat village."

Homs Governor Talal Barazi, in separate remarks to Reuters, said the targeted airbase had been providing air support for army operations against Islamic State east of Palmyra, and the attack served the interests of "armed terrorist groups"...Barazi told al-Mayadeen there were civilian casualties at a village next to the base, but did not elaborate.

Syrian military source says U.S. missile strike caused 'losses' | 06 April 2017 | A Syrian military source said a U.S. missile strike on a Syrian air base had led to "losses." "One of our air bases in the central region was exposed at dawn today to a missile strike by the United States, leading to losses," a Syrian state TV news flash cited the source as saying.

Ah, then came the dawn. Oil prices soar after U.S. launches missile strike in Syria | 07 April 2017 | Oil prices surged more than 2 percent to a one-month high on Friday after the United States launched dozens of cruise missiles at an airbase in Syria, later dropping back as there seemed no immediate threat to supplies. U.S. President Donald Trump said he had ordered missile strikes against a Syrian airfield from which a deadly chemical weapons attack was launched earlier this week, declaring he acted in America's "national security interest" against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Supreme Court: 5 cases Gorsuch will hear in his first month on the bench | 07 April 2017 | It was a grueling process from President Trump's nomination of U.S. Circuit Judge Neil Gorsuch in January to the Supreme Court seat left vacant at Justice Antonin Scalia's death to the Senate's confirmation of him on Friday. But now comes the really hard work. With less than a month left in the court's current sitting, Gorsuch will have to jump into hearings on a number of controversial issues that will not only gauge the 49-year-old Colorado native’s conservative credentials but also reveal how he compares to his predecessor, Scalia.

Neil Gorsuch Confirmed by Senate as Supreme Court Justice | 07 April 2017 | Judge Neil M. Gorsuch was confirmed by the Senate on Friday to become the 113th justice of the Supreme Court, capping a political brawl that lasted for more than a year and tested constitutional norms inside the Capitol's fraying upper chamber. The moment was a triumph for President Trump, whose campaign appeal to reluctant Republicans last year rested in large part on his pledge to appoint another committed conservative to succeed Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in February 2016. The final tally was 54-45 in favor of confirmation.

Here's How Undocumented Immigrants Are Living in the Shadow of Border Patrol Deep Within the US
Adolfo Flores, BuzzFeed
Flores writes: "Most Americans don't know that there is 100-mile zone that extends inland from the edge of the US, and within that zone, border patrol agents have the authority to stop and search motorists, for any reason, to investigate whether they are here legally. Though they can arrest and question people anywhere in the US. That means undocumented immigrants who have settled in small towns within the zone are under constant threat of being stopped, arrested, and immediately deported for something as small as a broken taillight."
