Where can one recycle CFL's locally?
We replaced our bulbs years ago and have never broken a single one. I don't understand the discussion
We're actually replacing the CFLs with LED, getting usage down to a lower amount that will make PV reasonable.
As you commented earlier, its disappointing that the G&E isn't promoting reductions, but we won't wait for the cavemen to metamorphosize because it may never happen.
There is too much information available about reducing the demand side to wait for action in Mboro.
We lived briefly in California, consider Mboro a 2nd home, travel there regularly for business and are always impressed with the many methods employed to tackle energy.Replacing traffic lights with LEDs was simple, cost effective, inconspicuous.
When we recieve our G&E bills, their is never a promotion of reducing comsumption.
Next election, their should be a contest on the G&E to get rid of the deadheads.

The Town's landfill has a shed in the recycling area where you can leave your CFLs and fluorescent tubes.
When this issue was discussed last year, I believe it was also noted that Home Depot recycles as well.
The landfill also accepts batteries which contain some nasty heavy metals.
Recycling keeps these contaminants out of the waste stream.
The Department of Energy is also working on improving the efficiency of lightbulbs and reducing the mercury content.
