A new Boston Globe profile of potential Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush explores the former governor’s time as a student at Phillips Academy in Andover during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
 
Revelations likely to get attention include allegations that Bush bullied younger students, was nearly expelled for bad grades and smoked “a notable amount” of marijuana, according to former classmates.
 
One such alleged anecdote includes Bush introducing a classmate to hashish in his dorm room as the two grooved to Steppenwolf’s stoner rock classic “Magic Carpet Ride.”
 
The Globe reports Bush has since gone on to call his use of marijuana “stupid” and “wrong,” telling the paper that his time at Phillips Academy was one of the most difficult experiences of his life:
