Car crashes through High St Melton photo store
STAFF at a Melton photography business were lucky to escape unharmed yesterday when a vehicle ploughed through the front of the High St store.
The Photo Shop was left a shattered mess yesterday at around 4.15pm when a woman in her early 60s allegedly put her foot accidentally on the accelerator and launched her Toyota four-wheel-drive over the gutter and into the shop.
No one was injured but store owner George Tsegos said he and his staff were still in shock and he expected a hefty repair bill.
“I wasn’t here at the time but there was one of my staff members and a customer at the counter when the car came through the glass,” Mr Tsegos said.
Mr Tsegos said his staff couldn’t believe it when the car appeared out of nowhere.
“The council really needs to install some barriers or poles between the shops and parking to avoid this, someone could have been killed.”
