Sierra Club: That's Keystone XL

Sierra Club - Explore, enjoy and protect the planet

Published on Feb 26, 2015
http://sc.org/ThisIsKXL Celebrities from the US and Canada (as below) have come together asking the president to do the obvious right thing: reject the dirty, dangerous tar sands pipeline once and for all. Add your voice now.

In order of appearance:
Alison Sudol, Lance Bass, Emily VanCamp, Dawn Olivieri, Bryn Mooser, Rachelle Lefevre, Sara Gilbert, Malin Ã…kerman, Daryl Hannah, Frances Fisher, Francesca Eastwood, Ed Begley Jr and
Darby Stanchfield.
The video was a production of Appeal To Reason / Hogan Millar Media / Spectral Q for the Sierra Club and EMA.

Yesterday, Big Oil-backed senators failed to garner enough support to override President Obama's veto of their Keystone XL approval bill.

Thanks to the hard work of activists like you, Congress's Keystone bill is officially dead. But Big Oil pays them too much for them to give up now. They'll keep trying -- and wasting taxpayer money -- until the president makes his final decision on this controversial pipeline.

That's why we released this video to highlight what's at stake. This fight isn't just about a pipeline -- it's about the destructive tar sands the pipeline would transport.

Take a moment to WATCH the video, and then SHARE it to help spread the word about why Keystone XL must be rejected!

Many people still don't understand what's at stake with Keystone XL. Some people still mistakenly think it's all just a symbol, that it won't really matter. This video will show the very real destruction that the tar sands bring. That's the destruction that Keystone XL would exacerbate if it is approved.

It's a message we hope sticks in President Obama's mind as he makes his final decision. But of course the president already had all the information he needs to reject Keystone XL. Last month, the EPA advised the State Department that KXL would have a "substantial impact" on tar sands production and that development of Canada's tar sands would result in a "significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions."

In short, the EPA confirmed what we've been saying all along:
Keystone XL fails President Obama's climate test.
Help spread the word about why Keystone XL must be rejected. Take a moment to watch this powerful video, and share it with your friends and family.

Thanks for doing your part to defeat this toxic pipeline,

Michael Brune
Sierra Club Executive Director
