CounterCurrents: FBI’s Fake ‘Investigation’ of Hillary’s Emails, Security Council Meets After US Coalition Strike Syrian Forces

Dear Friend,

The world is on the edge. The balance could be tilted either way, if better sense  doesn't prevail. Extremely bad news is coming from Kashmir where an army camp was attacked by four militants and killed 17 soldiers. The militants crossed    the Line of Control (LoC) and attacked the camp. South Asia, world's tinter box is on the edge!

Meanwhile, Kashmir valley remains shut for 73 consecutive days

The Syrian crisis has now moved into a serious zone.  US-Led Bombing Kills Nearly 100 Syrian Soldiers. Though US regretted saying that it was nonintentional and was intended to target ISIS but Russia rejected the contention.

Let's do our best to make sure that  better sense prevails on both these fronts so that the world doesn't plunge into another calamity. Yes, we've enough calamities already to deal with. We don't need more.

And more stories from around the world.

If you don't mind, and if you think the content of this news letter is critical for the dignified living and survival of humanity and other species on earth, please forward it to your friends and spread the word. It is the highest casualty suffered by the Army in a single attack in Kashmir in the past two decades. The four fidayeen involved in the attack were also killed.

The dawn attack on 18 Sep on the army’s Uri camp by Pakistan-trained militants resulted in 17 troops killed and 30 more wounded. The fact that attackers were four in number, has attracted the attention of the media, which labels them as terrorists, while politicians term the attack as cowardly.

Security Council Meets After US Coalition Strike Syrian Forces
by Dr Vivek Kumar Srivastava

The Syrian crisis has now moved into a serious zone where the next developments will bring the opposite groups, which were recently involved in a ceasefire deal, to a direct confrontation in more lethal way than the prevailing stage. The reason is not very hard to comprehend as in a strike by US led coalition forces; 62 Syrian soldiers have been killed. Though US regretted saying that it was nonintentional and was intended to target ISIS but Russia rejected the contention.

The WADA Hack: Transparency And The Uneven Playing Field

The hack by the cyber espionage group Fancy Bears of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) data storage system has, to that end, produced a range of reactions.  Transparency supporters have given it a good wink and in some cases, even a dismissive shrug.  Germany’s discus thrower and 2012 Olympic Champion Robert Harting was content to tweet that, “We don’t hide anything. Go transparency!”

‘Burkini’ And French Imperialist Mind
by Andre Vltchek

http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/09/19/burkini-and-french-imperialist-mind/

Recently, France’s highest administrative court has ruled that “burkini bans” being enforced on the country’s beaches are illegal and a violation of fundamental liberties. Still, more than 90 percent of French people are supporting the ban, which is thoroughly illogical and philosophically as well as ethically indefensible.
