Pete Buttigieg is using Republican-lite talking points to undermine progressive policies. This is why we need people like AOC in Congress to fight for our ideals.

Pete Buttigieg is using Republican talking points to undermine progressive policies. That might score him a few points with moderates, but it’s an incredibly short-sighted strategy — those same attacks will be thrown right back at us in the general election by Trump.
But it’s an important reminder: the 2020 election is just the beginning. No matter who wins the Democratic nomination and the White House, we need a powerful progressive presence in Congress to fight for unadulterated progressive policies, not watered down alternatives that leave people out.
AOC is that progressive champion. Will you donate $3 to fight for her reelection, and send the message that you want real Medicare for All, real tuition-free public college, and a real Green New Deal?

Let’s be clear here: calling some of Pete Buttigieg’s plans watered-down progressive policies is charitable. Take for example his plan to reduce student debt and increase access to higher education:
Pete says his plan would make college affordable for everyone but the children of millionaires and billionaires. But if you actually read it, the cutoff is a household income of $100,000 a year — otherwise known as two parents making 50k a year.
Does that sound like millionaires and billionaires? Because to us, that sounds like a public school teacher and a firefighter. It sounds like a construction worker and a nurse. Pete Buttigieg’s plan would carve out a huge portion of middle-class families.
Let’s make sure everyone has access to education, make it a right, and enshrine K-16 just like we enshrined K-12. Donate $3 to reelect AOC today, and she’ll fight to make it happen in Congress.

In solidarity,

Team AOC
