The 2010's were the hottest decade ever

Edward Markey, official portrait, 114th Congress.jpg

Researchers from NASA and NOAA just announced that the past decade was the hottest on record.
Every indication is that this trend is getting worse right now due to our inaction. The last five years make up the top five hottest years on record.

The only way we can avert global disasters is with the Green New Deal, and that will not happen without Senator Markey’s leadership in the Senate.

Will you make a $25 donation to our campaign today to help keep Ed in the fight? We need his leadership in the Senate to make sure we pass the Green New Deal. Our planet cannot afford to wait any longer.

There is no getting around it. The planet is on fire.

That’s the bad news. The good news — the news that should give us hope — is that the movement for climate action is larger and stronger than ever before.

Senator Markey was a lonely voice on this issue when he first started sounding the alarm bells. He put a national spotlight on the issue at the 1980 Democratic National Convention when he warned of a warming planet.

The science has been clear all along, and he has fought relentlessly.

Public opinion has finally shifted fully in our direction, and the young people of this country led by the Sunrise Movement have started the largest climate movement in history.

With the momentum behind our movement, we cannot afford to lose our greatest ally and champion in the Senate. We need Ed, and he needs us. What do you say?

Make a $25 donation right now to our campaign. Ed is facing his toughest re-election ever, and he cannot win without our support.

Thank you in advance for chipping in. Every donation sends a powerful message about the strength of our movement.
