This article by Jeff Schogol originally appeared on Task & Purpose, a digital news and culture publication dedicated to military and veterans issues.
A lawmaker who wants the Pentagon to investigate whether military biological weapons experiments with ticks cause Lyme disease insists he is not spreading conspiracy theories.

"Why wouldn't we want to know?" Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) told Task & Purpose. "Let the IG [inspector general's office] decide that -- and put this to bed forever -- if indeed it's a fable, if it's untrue."
Smith authored an amendment to the House version of the Fiscal 2020 National Defense Authorization Act that would require the Pentagon to investigate if the military released infected ticks onto an unsuspecting American public "by accident or experiment design."
But experts say they are skeptical of any link between U.S. military bioweapons research and the outbreak of Lyme disease.
"Ticks and Lyme Disease would be a very strange choice as a deliberate bioweapon because ticks are difficult to work with, don't have wings, and Lyme would hardly be a force reducer," said Robert Peterson, an entomology professor at Montana State University.
Pentagon spokeswoman Heather Babb declined to discuss Smith's amendment because the Defense Department does not comment on proposed legislation.
"DOD takes extreme care in all of our research programs to ensure the protection of our personnel and the community," Babb said.
When Smith announced his amendment, he cited the book "Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons," which looks at U.S. military experiments with ticks.
"There's just too much evidence for a reasonable man or woman to just turn the page and say: 'Put on your tinfoil fat. This is just a conspiracy theory,'" Smith said. "And yet, people with credentials will say that, which begs the question: Why would they even say that?"
Kris Newby, who wrote "Bitten," said she discovered circumstantial evidence linking the outbreak of Lyme disease in the 1960s to the U.S. military.
As proof, Newby cites an interview she had with Dr. Willy Burgdorfer, the American scientist who discovered what causes Lyme disease, who told her shortly before his death that he had been instructed to keep his research into a possible cause for Lyme disease a secret.
"My hypothesis is that was the biological weapon they were trying to cover up," said Newby, a science writer at the Stanford School of Medicine in California.
But Newby said she cannot definitively link Lyme disease to the U.S. military's bioweapons research efforts conducted at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
"I can't connect all those dots right now," said Newby, who survived Lyme disease. "My theory is that it was a genetically engineered Rickettsia [bacteria] but, as a journalist, I can't prove that."
Others find the idea the notion that the U.S. military infected ticks with Lyme disease more than a little far-fetched.
"I've heard a little bit about this story and speculation and whatnot -- it's a really intuitively weak accusation," said Jeffrey Lockwood, who teaches natural sciences and humanities at the University of Wyoming.
Lockwood wrote "Six-Legged Soldiers: Using Insects as Weapons of War," about the U.S. military's biological warfare experiments with ticks, flies, and fleas. It turns out the Army did conduct research into whether ticks could be used to spread tularemia, relapsing fever, and Colorado fever during the Cold War.
Despite these experiments, Lockwood said he is "profoundly dubious" that the U.S. military looked into using ticks to transmit Lyme disease.
Ticks are not the best vector to spread bioweapons because they do not go very far and Lyme disease is a slow-acting pathogen, Lockwood told Task & Purpose. Other tick-borne diseases are far worse to humans.
"Weaponizing Lyme disease with a tick vector just doesn't add up to make a whole lot of sense," Lockwood said. "On the other hand -- quite frankly -- U.S. military weapons development hasn't always made a whole lot of sense."

Lyme Disease patients push back against Baker

Among those closely following the weekend legislative maneuverings are residents who suffer from Lyme disease, Elaine Thompson of the Telegram reports. Measures that would require insurers to cover long-term care for the ailment has already been vetoed twice by Gov. Baker, who has sent lawmakers a new compromise proposal. The original bill’s co-sponsors, Sen. Anne Gobi of Spencer and Rep. David Linksy of Natick, spent yesterday whipping votes, Thompson reports. “I’m hopeful,” Linsky said. “It will require a concerted effort on behalf of my colleagues to do this along with a number of other pressing issues before Sunday at midnight.”
But the Massachusetts Medical Society yesterday declared its support for Baker's alternative proposal for the treatment of patients with Lyme disease. "The Massachusetts Medical Society is firmly in support of the governor's initiative to provide insurance coverage for the treatment of patients with Lyme disease," said James Gessner, president of the society, said in a statement, reports State House News Service (pay wall). "Public health officials have determined that Lyme disease is endemic throughout the commonwealth, so much so that the state has the fourth highest incidence of Lyme disease in the nation. It is imperative that we provide comprehensive care for those affected, and the governor is attempting to do just that." After the House convened on Saturday morning, Baker's bill (H 4560) relative to the treatment of Lyme Disease was referred to the Committee on Financial Services. Seconds later, the chair considered no action taken on the matter.

CHEMICAL WARFARE RED ALERT: Zika panic DEET chemical part of a brain damaging binary weapon being carpet bombed across America's cities

DEET is promoted and recommended as a mosquito repellent.
PLEASE read & share before using DEET!
There are many safe and effective environmentally friendly alternatives including a fly repellent horse spray that contains citrus, lavender and other herbs. [The one we purchase is called Nature's Defense, but there are many others.]

CHEMICAL WARFARE RED ALERT: Zika panic DEET chemical part of a brain damaging binary weapon being carpet bombed across America's cities

DEET chemical
(NaturalNews) With every ignorant news organization across America now pushing Americans to slather their skin with DEET chemicals as a defense against Zika mosquitoes, there's something every American needs to know: DEET is one chemical component of a binary chemical weapon system currently being carpet bombed onto U.S. civilian populations.

That's an aggressive assertion, I fully realize. So in this article, I'm going to lay out the science for you that proves all this, citing published scientific studies, government research papers, historical accounts of military actions and molecular citations from the world's most authoritative sources on chemistry. As far as my own science background goes, I am the lab science director of CWC Labs, an internationally accredited, ISO-17025 accredited forensic food analysis laboratory. I personally run mass spec (LC/MS-TOF) systems with a special focus on pesticides, herbicides and chemical toxicology. In fact, I have just completed a science paper on the world's first LC/MS-TOF accurate quantitation and anti-counterfeit analysis method for cannabidiols in hemp extracts, and that paper is going to be published later this year at a science expo event. I'm also the author of the Amazon.com #1 bestselling science book Food Forensics.

In other words, let there be no doubt whatsoever that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to the science I'm about to describe here. Nearly everyone who attacks this story, you will find, has no qualifications to even understand the science.

DEET damages brain cells

Getting back to DEET and Zika, the DEET chemical is actually N,N-Diethyl-3-methylbenzamide. From a molecular science point of view, it looks like this (courtesyChemSpider.com):

Note the molecular formula of C12H17NO. This means it has a total of 12 carbon atoms, 17 hydrogen atoms, one nitrogen and one oxygen. (We often use molecular formulas as shorthand in chemistry. This tells you the elemental composition and ratios, but not the bonding configuration or polarity.)

All by itself, the DEET chemical is known to cause damage to nerve cells. Let's explore that, because DEET is just one part of a binary chemical weapon system that is right now being deployed against the American people... a weapon system engineered to cause mass fear and confusion while even achieving a "behavior modifying" effect as you'll soon see.

DEET damages brain cells by interfering with enzymatic reactions

Ever wonder how DEET kills insects? It's an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, meaning it blocks the molecular action of acetylcholinesterase.

Via this Natural News article:

French scientists Vincent Corbel from the Institut de Recherche pour le Developement in Montpellier and Bruno Lapied from the University of Angers headed a team of researchers who studied the mode of action and toxicity of DEET, also known by the chemical name N,N-Diethyl-3-methylbenzamide. "We've found that DEET is not simply a behavior-modifying chemical but also inhibits the activity of a key central nervous system enzyme, acetylcholinesterase, in both insects and mammals," Corbel said in a statement to the media.

What exactly is acetylcholinesterase? "Acetylcholinesterase (AChE, acetycholine acetylhydrolase...) is found in many types of conducting tissue: nerve and muscle, central and peripheral tissues, motor and sensory fibers, and cholinergic and noncholinergic fibers," saysthis 2013 science paper in Current Neuropharmocology: "Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors: Pharmacology and Toxicology."

Blocking AChE causes "disrupted neurotransmission" and other damaging effects to brain cells: "The enzyme inactivation, induced by various inhibitors, leads to acetylcholine accumulation, hyperstimulation of nicotinic and muscarinic receptors, and disrupted neurotransmission."

According to that science paper, AChE inhibitors work similarly to carbamate and organophosphate pesticides -- two classes of chemicals routinely sprayed all over the national food supply -- meaning that people who slather their skin with DEET are poisoning themselves with brain-disrupting pesticide chemicals. Says the paper, "In medicine and agriculture, the word 'organophosphates' refers to a group of insecticides and nerve agents that inhibit AChE."

These organophosphates "exert their main toxicological effects through non-reversible phosphorylation of esterases in the central nervous system," report the scientists. "The acute toxic effects are related to irreversible inactivation of AChE."

In other words, some classes of AChE inhibitors can cause irreversible damage to the central nervous system.

DEET inhibits nervous system function... that's how it kills

DEET is an AChE inhibitor. As stated in this science paper entitled "Evidence for inhibition of cholinesterases in insect and mammalian nervous systems by the insect repellent deet":

Despite the widespread and increased interest in the use of deet in public health programmes, controversies remain concerning both the identification of its target sites at the olfactory system and its mechanism of toxicity in insects, mammals and humans...

...[W]e show that deet is not simply a behaviour-modifying chemical but that it also inhibits cholinesterase activity, in both insect and mammalian neuronal preparations. Deet is commonly used in combination with insecticides and we show that deet has the capacity to strengthen the toxicity of carbamates, a class of insecticides known to block acetylcholinesterase.

These findings question the safety of deet, particularly in combination with other chemicals...

Now you are beginning to grasp the binary weapon of DEET + Carbamates (or OPs). Carbamates are common pesticides sprayed on food crops. They're also sprayed into the air by your local government as part of their ill-formed mosquito control programs they claim will stop Zika.

DEET is one part of a binary chemical weapon (the other part is carbamate insecticides)

I hope you're paying close attention to what I'm explaining here, because what the study mentioned above reveals is that DEET is part of a binary chemical weapon system that goes "ballistic" against your nerve cells when combined with certain classes of insecticides (such as carbamates and OPs).

What are carbamate insecticides? They are a class of pesticide chemicals that are right now being sprayed on food crops all across America. Even worse, they're often used in aerial spraying campaigns in combination with DEET. In effect, this is a chemical binary weapon now being deployed against the American people.

"Deet is commonly used in combination with insecticides and we show that deet has the capacity to strengthen the toxicity of carbamates, a class of insecticides known to block acetylcholinesterase," says the BioMedCentral science paper linked above.

Adding to the concern, this warning from MDguidelines.com explains, "Over 80% of the pesticide poisonings in the US are caused by organophosphate and carbamate pesticides. These compounds inhibit acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme critical to the control of nerve impulse transmission from one cell to another. When the enzyme is inhibited, there is overstimulation and then paralysis of the secondary cell."

According to this PDF document from the USGS, "The toxicity of OP and carbamate pesticides is due to the disruption of the nervous system of an invertebrate or a vertebrate through the inhibition of cholinesterase (ChE) enzymes. These enzymes are involved in transmitting normal nerve impulses throughout the nervous system. An acute pesticide dose reduces the activity of ChEs, and nerve impulses cannot be transmitted normally. This can paralyze the nervous system, and it may lead to death, usually from respiratory failure."

That same report goes on to explain how "More than 100 avian species have been poisoned by these pesticides" and that "Raptors and other bird species become victims of secondary poisoning when they scavenge dead animals poisoned by pesticides or when they feed on live animals or invertebrates that are unable to escape predation because of pesticide intoxication."

In other words, the carbamates make animals weak and confused, turning them into easy prey. Hmmm... can you think of any other targeted population an evil government might want to make weak and confused so that they can be easily controlled or exploited? Remember, to the government, We the People are nothing more than zoo animals living on tax farms, and they are more than happy to use chemical sprays to keep us all dumbed down and ignorant, just as former slave plantation owners refused to allow their slaves to learn to read.

"Research by Duke University Medical Center pharmacologist Mohamed Abou-Donia, who has spent 30 years studying the effects of pesticides, found that prolonged exposure to DEET can impair functioning in parts of the brain and could result in problems with muscle coordination, muscle weakness, walking or even memory and cognition," reports Natural News.

The binary weapon formula is DEET + Carbamates

In summary, here's how the binary chemical weapon works:

DEET + Carbamates = Extreme toxicity, weakness, confusion and loss of cognitive function.

The DEET is now being purchased and deployed by obedient sheeple who stupidly think Zika viruses are going to eat their brains. The Carbamates and OPs are sprayed onto populations via aerial carpet bombing runs and agricultural chemical spraying. If you aren't eating a 100% organic diet, you are eating carbamates at every meal. These then combine with the DEET chemicals to cause mass mental confusion, weakness, memory loss, fear and neurotransmitter disruption.

Combine this with endless propaganda from a complicit media run by globalists and this is how you end up with people voting for their own enslavement at the hands of tyrants.

The following map, sourced from the USGS, shows the number of avian deaths recorded across U.S. states from OP and carbamate poisoning (from 1986 - 1995). Note how widespread the chemical spraying is? "Organophosphorus and carbamate compounds are used throughout the world as insecticides, herbicides, nematocides, acaricides, fungicides, rodenticides, avicides, and bird repellants," says the report.

Agitation, confusion and death

How exactly do AChE inhibitors cause so much damage to the nervous system? According to the same paper cited above: (bold added)

The inhibition of the enzyme leads to accumulation of ACh in the synaptic cleft resulting in over-stimulation of nicotinic and muscarinic ACh receptors and impeded neurotransmission. The typical symptoms of acute poisoning are agitation, muscle weakness, muscle fasciculations, miosis, hypersalivation, sweating. Severe poisonings may cause respiratory failure, unconsciousness, confusion, convulsions and/or death.

It almost sounds like a nerve gas chemical weapon, doesn't it? Not coincidentally, that notion is exactly right. These OP and carbamate pesticides ARE chemical weapons and if they were deployed as weapons, they would be illegal under United Nations treaties that prohibit weapons of mass destruction from being deployed against human populations.

Chemically very similar to nerve agents such as VX Nerve Gas

"Many of the toxic nerve agents used by the military are similar organophosphate compounds," reports MD Guidelines.

Here it gets even more stunning: According to this published science paper, organophosphorus compounds (OPs) make up most of the deadly nerve agents that have been deployed as chemical weapons by the world's governments. From the paper:

Nerve agents of OP group include tabun, sarin, soman, cyclosarin and VX. Sarin, soman and cyclosarin are phosphonofluoridates, and VX is a phosphonothioate (Fig. 1313). Soman has four, while sarin and VX have two isoforms, which significantly differ in toxicity and irreversible AChE inactivation rate. Based on the acute toxicity, VX is the most toxic compound among all the nerve agents [67]. The developing and production of these extremely toxic nerve agents started in the 1930s, and later used in wars and by terrorists on several occasions. As chemical weapons, they are classified as weapons of mass destruction by the United Nations, and their production and stockpiling was outlawed by the Chemical Weapons Convention.

And yet, even though these nerve agents are classified as chemical weapons, variations of nearly identical molecules are widely deployed as pesticides, often being sprayed in combination with DEET and other chemicals.

Note carefully that "soman and cyclosarin are phosphonofluoridates," meaning they combine fluorine with organophosphates to create a hyper-toxic chemical that's deadly to brain cells. Here's what the cyclosarin nerve gas molecule looks like (courtesy ofChemSpider.com)

Molecular formula: C7H14FO2P

Note the astonishing molecular similarity of this nerve gas agent to diisopropyl fluorophosphate, a commonly used pesticide: (SOURCE: ChemSpider).

Molecular formula: C6H14FO3P

See how they have a common structure centered around the phosphate element (P) with a double bonded oxygen (O)? Notice how they both have an attach fluorine atom, which creates an extremely aggressive molecule that can bond with (and therefore ravage) other biological molecules including brain cells? (Fluorine is also found in many psychoactive drugs such as SSRIs.)

"Commonly used OP insecticides have included ethyl parathion, malathion, methyl parathion, chlorpyrifos, diazinon, dichlorvos, phosmet, fenitrothion, tetrachlorvinphos, azinphos methyl, pirimiphos-methyl, dimethoate, phosalone," says the Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors paper cited elsewhere in this article.

Many of these insecticides, you may recall, are routinely carpet bombed onto America's cities under the justification of eliminating various flies, mosquitoes or agricultural pests. Malathion, for example, is routinely sprayed on civilian populations.

Weaponized Zika was used by the U.S. military to attack communists

As you take in all this information -- none of which you'll ever see on CNN, Fox News, the NY Times or the Washington Post because all of those organizations are run by quack pseudo-journalists and scientifically illiterate morons -- keep in mind that Zika virus was weaponized and deployed against communist targets by the U.S. military.

Via The Free Thought Project:

At Fort Detrick, the military’s biological weapons base in Maryland, in great secret, Army scientists were considering how fleas, grasshoppers, and mosquitoes might be deployed against the Communist threat. These insects were harder to protect against than gas -- masks wouldn’t help. The threat they posed would last, as long as a population of insects remained alive. Plus, it would be very difficult to pin an insect-borne attack on the U.S.

Among these possible insect soldiers, A. aegypti was “the golden child,” writes Jeffrey A. Lockwood, in Six-Legged Soldiers, because the disease it carried, yellow fever was so terrible. The Army Chemical Corps, in a 1959 report, notes that yellow fever is “highly dangerous” and that “since 1900, one-third of patients have died.” There were parts of the Soviet Union that had never been exposed to the disease, which made them vulnerable, but which had the right climate to support mosquitoes. The Chemical Corps started to experiment with how a brigade of A. aegypti might be deployed and what sort of damage they might do.

They would load hundreds of thousands of mosquitoes into planes and, later, helicopters, then drop them over the field and see how far they could spread.

The mosquitoes apparently performed well enough: By 1960, the Chemical Corps was producing 500,000 A. aegypti every month, rearing them on sugar water and blood and letting them lay their eggs on paper towels. Scientists had found they could infect a new generation of mosquitoes with yellow fever by mixing the virus in the solution in which the mosquito eggs grew. Hundreds of thousands of mosquitoes were not enough to start a real epidemic, though. The corps proposed constructing a facility in Arkansas that could produce 100 million A. aegypti mosquitoes each week.

Are you grasping all this yet?

FOLLOW THE MONEY: Who benefits from a Zika outbreak and the mass chemical spraying of Americans

So the U.S. government breeds infected mosquitoes and drops them on population centers as a weapon. This isn't a conspiracy theory, it's U.S. history.

Now consider the question of who benefits from a Zika outbreak. Thanks to Zika, Obama has already funneled billions of dollars into vaccine companies. He also managed to redirect hundreds of millions of dollars in Zika research money to a United Nations climate change slush fund. (Hint: Obama plans to run the United Nations after ending his U.S. presidency.)

At the same time, DEET sales are exploding across America while local governments are carpet bombing cities like Miami with brain-damaging insecticide chemicals. The DEET, as we've documented here, contains AChE inhibitors that block brain function and causememory loss, irritation and confusion among the voting population. (Nobody can remember all the campaign promises Obama made and then failed to deliver, see?)

It's all just in time for the riots and elections, isn't it? The more people coat their skin with DEET and then get exposed to carbamates or OPs which are being sprayed on U.S. cities, the more confused Americans become, making them even more susceptible to theoutrageous lies of the mainstream media that's trying to get a racketeering criminal traitor elected to the White House.

In effect, the criminal government is already in the process of deploying binary chemical weapons against the voting population as a form of chemical cognitive engineering. The goal is to cause widespread fear, confusion, memory loss and cognitive weakness. This is all being done for the simple, obvious reason that if all the human minds across America were allowed to wake up and notice what's really happening, the criminal class of government liars and crooks would find themselves swinging by their necks from trees. Thus, keeping the masses dumbed down and chemically brain damaged is a necessary strategy for the corrupt political class to remain in power.

This is the biggest political science story in American history, yet there isn't a single news organization reporting it. Ever wonder why?

DEET, fluoride, SSRIs, lead in the water and mercury vaccines... what do they all have in common?

Now I ask you: What do all these things have in common? Consider the common biochemical actions of DEET, fluoride, SSRI drugs, lead in the water and mercury in the flu shots (yes, vaccines still contain huge concentrations of mercury... over 50,000 ppb in my lab tests, which is over 25,000 times the maximum EPA limit of mercury in drinking water).

The answer is: THEY ALL DAMAGE BRAINS and inhibit cognitive function.

What you are observing here, if you still have the cognitive capacity to understand it, is a deliberate, coordinated, multi-vector chemical assault on your ability to think clearly.

This is a whole new kind of warfare against the commoners (the sheeple). The deliberate dumbing down you're being subjected to isn't just an info-propaganda campaign launched by CNN and the NY Times. There is a very real, very deliberate chemical warfare componentto all this.

Yes, the U.S. government is currently waging covert chemical warfare on the American people. They are doing it using binary chemical weapons, in violation of international treaties against the use of weapons of mass destruction. And they are doing it to deliberately cause mass fear, confusion, memory loss and cognitive impairment.

Every media story you see that urges you to slather on the DEET is unknowingly participating in this binary weapons deployment. Don't blame your local news person for this; they are too stupid, incompetent and scientifically illiterate to know anything that's really happening in the world around them (that's why they have to read teleprompter scripts written by someone else... they can't even think for themselves anymore).

Now you know the real story on Zika and DEET and why they're being pushed so aggressively by the same subversive media that's desperately trying to overthrow democracy and install a totalitarian criminal in the White House. This is all connected. The timing of the Zika release is not a coincidence.

THIS IS ALL OUT WAR AGAINST AMERICA. And it's not just a propaganda war. It's a chemical war, and you have already been targeted for intoxication to make sure you never achieve the presence of mind to vote for anti-establishment candidates like Donald Trump who threaten to overthrow the corrupt, criminal government.

Newly released American drone policy explains how US citizens, other targets can be chosen | 06 Aug 2016 | The Obama administration has released a previously secret 18-page policy guidance document [President Policy Guidance, or PPG] that lays out how potential drone targets may be chosen and approved and the President's role in the decision-making process...If the target is a US citizen or someone living in the US, or if there is not unanimous agreement among the President's key national security officials regarding the nomination of the target, it will be submitted to the President for a decision. However, the head of the nominating agency themselves can approve lethal action against a proposed individual if all of the major national security officials unanimously agree it should be undertaken, but the President has to be apprised of the decision.

CIA Created 'Jason Bourne' Trained Killers in Disturbing Experiments --Secretive agency used drugs, guns and mind control in top-secret project | 04 Aug 2016 | Shocking documents obtained exclusively by RadarOnline dot com reveal the CIA used mind-control experiments to create trained killers in real-life scenarios frighteningly similar to the plots powering Jason Bourne movies! A top-secret project, launched in 1953, was known as MKUltra and involved 149 experiments. One involved administering LSD to a mental patient every day for 179 days straight. Others involved trying to program assassins and use mind control on foreign leaders.

Book claims CIA, state created SLA - possible psychosurgery in Vacaville | 07 Aug 2016 | The CIA and the California Department of Corrections created the Symbionese Liberation Army of the 1970s, contends a new book that also claims it's possible SLA leader Donald DeFreeze underwent psychosurgery at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville. Implementing electrodes into DeFreeze is speculation but not beyond the realm of possibility, author Brad Schreiber writes. Los Angeles resident Schreiber was interviewed Wednesday night on a national radio show about his book "Revolution’s End: The Patty Hearst Kidnapping, Mind Control and the Secret History of Donald DeFreeze and the SLA." The late Rep. Leo Ryan, who was killed in Jonestown in 1978, knew of CIA links to the medical facility in Vacaville, Schreiber said.

US-backed Syrian 'rebels' responsible for toxic gas attack in Aleppo - Russian military | 03 Aug 2016 | Syrian fighters from a rebel terrorist group considered 'moderate' by Washington are responsible for using toxic gas shells that killed seven and injured 23 in Aleppo on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense. "On August 2, 2016, at 19 hours 05 minutes militants from the Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki group, considered by Washington as 'moderate opposition', launched poisonous materials from the Sukkari district towards the eastern part of Aleppo," the ministry said. It added that the territory is under rebel control and that shells were fired towards "the residential area"of the Salah-Eddin district [aka war crime]. Moscow informed Washington of the use of toxic shells on Monday, Lieutenant-General Sergey Chvarkov, head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, said.

Iran says nuclear scientist executed for espionage | 07 Aug 2016 | Iran has confirmed that it has executed a nuclear scientist convicted of leaking the country's top secret information to the United States, the Iranian Judiciary says. Iran's Judiciary spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, told reporters on Sunday that Shahram Amiri had access to the country's top secret information and had linked up with the Islamic Republic's arch-enemy, the US. Amiri, who was a university lecturer, disappeared in Saudi Arabia in June 2009 and resurfaced a year later in the US. He returned home in July 2010 after spending 14 months in the United States.

ISIS claims to have captured trove of U.S. military gear | 07 Aug 2016 | ISIS [I-CIA-SIS] fighters in Afghanistan claimed to have recently seized a trove of sensitive U.S. military equipment - including communications gear, a rocket launcher and the ID card of a U.S. soldier - but it remains unclear how the items came into the terror group's possession. There was no immediate information on when the pictures, posted to social media on Saturday, were taken, though the U.S. soldier's ID expires in 2017, a possible sign the photos are relatively fresh. The American soldier whose identification was pictured, U.S. Army Specialist Ryan Jay Larson, was not captured by ISIS, Brigadier General Charlie Cleveland told Fox News on Sunday.

Australian academic and US colleague abducted at gunpoint in Kabul | 08 Aug 2016 | An Australian professor and his US colleague have been kidnapped at gunpoint from outside a university in Kabul, local police said. The professors from the American University of Afghanistan were abducted on Sunday, reportedly by gunmen dressed in the uniforms of Afghan security forces. The university is the country's only private, not-for-profit and co-educational university and teaches more than 1700 students, according to its website.

Suicide bomber kills at least 70 at Pakistan hospital, ISIS claims responsibility | 08 Aug 2016 | A suicide bomber in Pakistan killed at least 70 people and wounded more than 100 on Monday in an attack on mourners gathered at a hospital in the southwestern city of Quetta, and Islamic State claimed responsibility. The bomber struck as a crowd of mostly lawyers and journalists crammed into the emergency department to accompany the body of a prominent lawyer who had been shot and killed in the city earlier in the day, Faridullah, a reporter who was among the wounded, told Reuters. Abdul Rehman Miankhel, a senior official at the government-run Civil Hospital, where the explosion occurred, told reporters that at least 70 people had been killed, with more than 112 wounded.

Terrorism wave in Germany forces Berlin to plan broad range of civil defense measures --Bild quotes paper: In case of an attack (nuclear, biological or chemical) hospitals are planned to be used as 'decontamination sites' | 04 Aug 2016 | Against the backdrop of terrorist attacks that rocked Europe - and Germany in particular - in recent months, the German government is set on updating the system of national civil defense for the first time in some 20 years, Bild reported on Thursday. Citing excerpts from the 69-page draft version of the new document which is expected to be adopted by ministers on August 24, the newspaper reports the proposed changes cover a variety of spheres, from increasing vaccine and basic supplies storage to stocking up on chemical protective suits to be distributed among the population in case of emergency. All German municipalities will be ordered to dig special water-wells to provide a minimum supply of drinking water for their citizens for at least two weeks, as well as purchase chlorine tablets for disinfection and organize water distribution across their land.

Rome tightens security at Colosseum as Isil threatens to attack Italy | 03 Aug 2016 | Italy will install a high security cordon around the Colosseum in Rome amid rising fears of a terrorist attack during the summer tourist season. Nicolo D'Angelo, the Rome police chief, has ordered a series of measures, including new entrance controls at the Colosseum, guarded by his officers. Security perimeters around the Vatican museums and St Peter's Square are also being extended. The tighter security comes after the emergence of a new 35-minute video from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) [I-CIA-SIS],repeating a specific threat to "conquer Rome".

Zika Mosquitoes Same as GM Mosquitoes Released Off the Coast of Florida | 01 Aug 2016 | In December 2011, I [Brandon Turbeville] wrote an article entitled "Releasing Genetically Engineered Mosquitoes Poses Unknown Risks to Florida" where I documented the Oxitec plans to release 5-10,000 GM mosquitoes near the Florida Keys. This program was presented to the public under the guise of an attempt to eradicate Dengue fever and is still awaiting approval from regulatory agencies despite widespread opposition from the public. So if it is true that there is a link between the GM mosquitoes and Zika virus, then Florida may soon be covered in ticking time bombs over its swamps, waiting to provide us with yet another public health emergency...Dengue fever has been of particular interest to the United States government, US Army, and CIA since at least the middle part of the 20th century. There is a great deal of evidence suggesting that the biochemical research facilities at Fort Detrick were conducting tests on Dengue fever as a bio-weapon as far back as 1942. It is generally known that in the 1950s the CIA partnered with Ft. Detrick to study Dengue fever and other exotic diseases for use as biological weapons.

Deceased FBI Agent Found at Trump Tower With Silenced Pistol | 02 Aug 2016 | A source within the NYPD has reported that an armed 62-year-old man tried to sneak in to the Trump Tower late Tuesday night. Interestingly, the suspect who was found with a semi-automatic handgun fitted with a silencer has been identified as Barry Lee Bush, a former Newark, New Jersey, FBI agent who has been dead since 2007. A Secret Service agent discovered Bush after he had circumvented a security partition on the bottom floor of the Trump Tower. Questioned by Secret Service at the scene, Bush who initially identified himself as Barry Franklyn, remained silent offering no explanation for why he broke security at the Trump Tower. According to the NYPD source, Bush was arrested for trespassing and for illegally carrying a pistol fitted with an illegal silencer. During his booking at the NYPD Jail, Bush's fingerprints were submitted to the National Crime Information Center, which immediately reported Bush's true identity...According to a spokesman at the Newark FBI field office, Bush was killed in the line of duty in April of 2007.

NBC News reporter compares Donald Trump to woman-beater | 04 Aug 2016 | NBC reporter [sic] Katy Tur believes she has the perfect analogy for Donald Trump's relationship with the Republican party: Trump's an abuser and the party is the partner in denial. "I asked another (anonymous) party official about this today," Tur reported Wednesday. "I likened it to an abusive relationship basically. A girlfriend who keeps saying that despite the abuse her boyfriend is giving her - the attacks - that he's going to change. He really loves her and promises her this time it's going to be different. The RNC realizes this. They see that Donald Trump has promised that he would change and would pivot before and he hasn't done it. Their issue is that they just can't walk away," Tur said.

Clinton mistakenly refers to Trump as her 'husband' | 05 Aug 2016 | Hillary Clinton nearly called rival Donald Trump her "husband" on Friday in an embarrassing slip-up that drew laughs from the crowd and Twitterverse. The flub came as she addressed the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in Washington, DC. "I hope you will compare what I'm proposing to what my husb--... my opponent is talking about," Clinton said, urging the reporters to scrutinize Trump more closely. The correction, swift as it was, didn't go unnoticed. Audible laughs could be heard in the auditorium as Clinton came close to calling Trump her spouse.

Texas professors ask U.S. court to ban guns in their classrooms | 04 Aug 2016 | Three University of Texas professors asked a U.S. judge on Thursday to give them the option of barring students from bringing guns into their classroom after the state gave some students that right under a law then went into effect this week. The professors said academic freedom could be chilled under the so-called campus carry law backed by the state's Republican political leaders that allows concealed handgun license holders 21 and over to bring handguns into classrooms and other university facilities...Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican and a defendant in the suit, filed papers to halt the injunction, calling the professors' case a "frivolous lawsuit."

Chicago police may have violated policy in fatal shooting - official | 06 Aug 2016 | Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said on Saturday that videos of the police shooting of a black man in the city last month indicate three officers may have violated the department's policies. Johnson told a news conference it was against departmental policy to fire at or into a moving car when the vehicle was the only potential use of force by a suspect, and police were taking a hard look at training and tactics following the shooting. Authorities on Friday released videos that captured the moments before and after police shot Paul O'Neal, 18, on July 28, but not the shooting itself because a police officer's body camera was not recording.

North Carolina to seek Supreme Court stay of voter ID law | 06 Aug 2016 | North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) said his state will petition the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene and reinstate a voter identification law that was struck down by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, which said the law discriminated against minorities. After overturning the North Carolina law, which requires voters to show a form of state-issued photo identification before voting and also cuts down on the amount of time allowed for early voting, the Fourth Circuit also refused to stay its order pending an appeal to the Supreme Court. McCrory said the appeals court changing election law only months before the 2016 election will cause confusion.

Appeals court rejects NC's request to postpone voter ID decision | 04 Aug 2016 | An appeals court has quickly decided it won't delay enforcement of its ruling striking down North Carolina's photo identification requirement and other election restrictions, including reducing early in-person voting by seven days. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied the stay Thursday, one day after state leaders' attorneys requested that last week's ruling be set aside as they prepare to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to consider the case...Last week's injunction means no voter ID mandate and 17 days of early voting with same-day registration.

Italian police cook pasta for lonely elderly couple after neighbours heard them crying | 08 Aug 2016 | Kindly police officers came to the aid of an elderly Italian couple after neighbours called emergency services when they were heard crying in their apartment - because they were so lonely. Officers rushed to the flat in the Appio area of Rome after nearby residents heard shouting and crying coming from inside, and found and 84-year-old Jole, and her 94-year-old husband Michele. The couple said they had not been victims of crime, but were overcome by emotion after watching sad stories on the news.

US Drops Fleas With Bubonic Plague on North Korea

By David Swanson, David Swanson's Blog
06 September 15

his happened some 63 years ago, but as the U.S. government has never stopped lying about it, and it's generally known only outside the United States, I'm going to treat it as news.
Here in our little U.S. bubble we've heard of a couple versions of a film called The Manchurian Candidate. We've heard of the general concept of "brainwashing" and may even associate it with something evil that the Chinese supposedly did to U.S. prisoners during the Korean War. And I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people who've heard of these things have at least a vague sense that they're bullshit.
If you didn't know, I'll break it to you right now: people cannot actually be programed like the Manchurian candidate, which was a work of fiction. There was never the slightest evidence that China or North Korea had done any such thing. And the CIA spent decades trying to do such a thing, and finally gave up.
I'd also be willing to bet that very few people know what it was that the U.S. government promoted the myth of "brainwashing" to cover up. During the Korean War, the United States bombed virtually all of North Korea and a good bit of the South, killing millions of people. It dropped massive quantities of Napalm. It bombed dams, bridges, villages, houses. This was all-out mass-slaughter. But there was something the U.S. government didn't want known, something deemed unethical in this genocidal madness.
It is well documented that the United States dropped on China and North Korea insects and feathers carrying anthrax, cholera, encephalitis, and bubonic plague. This was supposed to be a secret at the time, and the Chinese response of mass vaccinations and insect eradication probably contributed to the project's general failure (hundreds were killed, but not millions). But members of the U.S. military taken prisoner by the Chinese confessed to what they had been a part of, and confessed publicly when they got back to the United States.
Some of them had felt guilty to begin with. Some had been shocked at China's decent treatment of prisoners after U.S. depictions of the Chinese as savages. For whatever reasons, they confessed, and their confessions were highly credible, were borne out by independent scientific reviews, and have stood the test of time.
How to counter reports of the confessions? The answer for the CIA and the U.S. military and their allies in the corporate media was "brainwashing," which conveniently explained away whatever former prisoners said as false narratives implanted in their brains by brainwashers.
And 300 million of so Americans more or less sort of believe that craziest-ever dog-ate-my-homework concoction to this day!
The propaganda struggle was intense. The support of the Guatemalan government for the reports of U.S. germ warfare in China were part of the U.S. motivation for overthrowing the Guatemalan government; and the same cover-up was likely part of the motivation for the CIA's murder of Frank Olson.
There isn't any debate that the United States had been working on bio-weapons for years, at Fort Detrick -- then Camp Detrick -- and numerous other locations. Nor is there any question that the United States employed the top bio-weapons killers from among both the Japanese and the Nazis from the end of World War II onward. Nor is there any question that the U.S. tested such weapons on the city of San Francisco and numerous other locations around the United States, and on U.S. soldiers. There's a museum in Havana featuring evidence of years of U.S. bio-warfare against Cuba. We know that Plum Island, off the tip of Long Island, was used to test the weaponization of insects, including the ticks that created the ongoing outbreak of Lyme Disease.
Dave Chaddock's book This Must Be the Place, which I found via Jeff Kaye's review, collects the evidence that the United States indeed tried to wipe out millions of Chinese and North Koreans with deadly diseases.
"What does it matter now?" I can imagine people from only one corner of the earth asking.
I reply that it matters that we know the evils of war and try to stop the new ones. U.S. cluster bombs in Yemen, U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan, U.S. guns in Syria, U.S. white phosphorus and Napalm and depleted uranium used in recent years, U.S. torture in prison camps, U.S. nuclear arsenals being expanded, U.S. coups empowering monsters in Ukraine and Honduras, U.S. lies about Iranian nukes, and indeed U.S. antagonization of North Korea as part of that never-yet-ended war -- all of these things can be best confronted by people aware of a centuries-long pattern of lying.
And I reply, also, that it is not yet too late to apologize.
