Sadie: Children glue puppy's

eyes shut for 'kicks.
In a disturbing act of animal cruelty, a ten-pound puppy suffered one of the most horrendous acts of torture imaginable. According to Stacey Silverstein, of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, the tiny, ten-month old puppy's eyes were glued shut. "A group of kids, we are told, glued both of her eyes shut for kicks! This is one of the scariest abuse cases we have seen in a very long time," stated Stacey.
The egregious act of cruelty occurred in Henderson, North Carolina; the offenders have not yet been identified. Luckily the Friends of Vance County Animal Shelter came to Sadie's rescue and contacted Rescue Dogs Rock NYC for help. Everyone who has met this little dog, comments about her sweet disposition.
Research has consistently shown that children's acts of animal abuse closely correlates with bullying, corporal punishment, school shootings, sexual abuse, and developmental psychopathic behaviors. Animal abuse can be an indicator and a predictor of other violent acts. Parents in the Henderson area are being asked to carefully watch their pets and their children.
We have partnered with Rescue Dogs Rock to raise the funds needed to care for Sadie. With every product purchased, we will donate $10 to give this baby the life she truly deserves and was always meant to have.

Joey: 7 month old with his hind paws severed off!
Joey is a tiny little baby boy who was in desperate need of medical care. We can't put into words how sad we are for this little baby. Joey is just 7 weeks old, and he has endured so much pain in his short life already.
Second Chance Rescue NYC was called yesterday about a puppy that was found in a yard with his hind paws severed off. It is unknown at this time of this was a sick act of blatant cruelty, or if little Joeys back paws were caught in a fence or some other object. They immediately accepted this baby into their rescue and rushed him their vet partner for immediate treatment.
Joey is receiving the medical care he needs to make sure infection hasn't set in, and Second Chance Rescue NYC are discussing options for him, to make sure he will have the best quality of life. There are many unknowns right now, all we can do is hope and pray that he will pull through and have a good quality of life.
Please consider making a purchase to help save him! We have partnered with Second Chance Rescue NYC to raise the funds needed to care for Joey. With every product pur

Oh, yes.

Elizabeth Warren Fan Club (TM)
Bernie Sanders issued this statement May 1, 2013 after President Obama nominated telecommunications industry lobbyist Tom Wheeler to head the FCC: “In 1983, the American media was dominated by 50 companies. Today, media ownership is overwhelmingly concentrated in just 6 corporations: [xxxxxx] In a move that would make a bad situation worse, the FCC is considering whether to allow even more consolidation. Under the latest proposal, one corporation in the top 20 media markets could own a major newspaper, 2 television stations, up to 8 radio stations and provide Internet service. I agree with the overwhelming majority of Americans who oppose more media consolidation because it would result in less local control, fewer outlets offering differing viewpoints and less ownership diversity."
“I also am troubled that President Obama would appoint the former head of 2 major industry lobbying associations to regulate the industry. The head of the FCC should be looking out 1st and foremost for the public interest and may have to stand up to some of our nation's biggest media and telecom companies."

***WARNING: Photos of Jade's injures are GRAPHIC***
Jade's burns are second degree and chemical in nature. She has been put under general anesthesia twice already to clean and treat these horrific burns. Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts and prayers.
We are getting inquiries about placement for jade, but that is premature for now. She will be hospitalized and treated for the forseeable future and she cannot have any type of behavior evaluation, so we have no idea how she is w other animals or kids.

If you can help out w her medical costs, please do so at www.nycsecondchancerescue.org/donate/ thank you!

Another happy before and after! Luke was one of our biggest medical cases of 2014. He spent 2 months at a SC vet before being healthy enough to travel up north to his forever home. Luke had been dragged and was a mess. His pads of his paws were all burnt thru and took many months to heal.

It is so rewarding to see him in a home where he is loved and cherished! We love you Luke!!
