Not paying attention......

I'll probably never understand how folks, voters, continue to support candidates, parties and platforms that are against their best interests.

American Voters listen to the Think Tank rhetoric, 'Ooohhh...' and 'Aaahhhhh....' and ignore that too many elected officials and candidates don't support America's future.

Massachusetts Republicans who believed Senator Scott Brown walked on water and 'wasn't he wonderful' simply had no idea how he had voted, positions he had taken, yet blindly supported him.

When a history of his votes was offered, the reaction was shock.

In the case of Senator Udall of Colorado, he has stood for the future of his constituents, defending their values and voted for the future of America. Look at his record!

Senator Mark Udall is a candidate to support!

As the federal government shutdown trudges through its second week, most folks see the pain it’s causing and are working toward a solution. And then there are the extreme Republicans running for Mark's U.S. Senate seat.

After rooting on their tea party Republican counterparts in Washington, all three of Mark’s opponents have gone radio silent on the shutdown since it took effect.

While they duck the issue, Mark’s been working in Washington to fix it. He successfully passed bipartisan legislation securing military pay during the shutdown, and he’s been a consistent voice building awareness of the harmful effects of the shutdown on Colorado families, small business job-creators, and those trying to recover from recent flooding.

All over Colorado, people are feeling the harmful effects of the shutdown.

In Summit County, precious firefighting resources are unavailable during the shutdown. But state Sen. Randy Baumgardner has done nothing to help end it.

The farm bill lapsed when the shutdown started, and farmers and ranchers in Weld County have been forced to delay rebuilding after last month’s flood. But Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck has done nothing to urge House Republicans to end the shutdown and help these farmers who have suffered setback after setback.

The shutdown has hit hardest in Colorado Springs, which has the highest percentage of federal employees of any city in the country. Meanwhile, state Sen. Owen Hill hasn’t lifted a finger to urge the House of Representatives to vote on a clean funding bill to reopen the government and help the thousands of furloughed workers right in his backyard.

Demand Baumgardner, Buck, and Hill break their silence and call for an immediate end to the government shutdown that’s hurting Colorado.

Mark knows we need a functioning federal government now. But his right wing Republican opponents don’t get it and continue to hide from Coloradans. It’s up to us to hold them accountable.

Thanks,
