SIGNATURE NEEDED: Supreme Court issues anti-women and anti-union rulings, here's how we stop terrible court rulings

The Supreme Court decisions attacking unions and allowing corporations to undermine women's healthcare choices are absolutely terrible, but we can take immediate action to stop right-wing judges.

Two right-wingers are slowly making their way through the judicial nomination and confirmation process even though Democrats control both the White House and the Senate.

President Obama cut a deal with Georgia's two Republican senators to nominate Michael Boggs—a right-wing activist judge who is anti-choice, anti-civil rights and anti-marriage equality—in exchange for those two senators dropping their opposition to other judicial nominees.
This is unacceptable. Not only should a Democratic President never, ever be nominating someone like Boggs to serve on the federal bench, but after we won filibuster reform in November 2013, Democrats no longer have to make any deals with Republicans in order to get a nominee confirmed.
There is some hope. Michael Boggs spoke on May 13 at the Senate Judiciary Committee, and it was clear that Democrats on the committee were uncomfortable giving him a lifetime appointment to the federal district court. Even Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has now said he is likely to oppose Boggs.
Every Democratic senator needs to oppose Boggs, and make sure he never serves on the federal bench.

Sign the petition to President Obama: Don’t appoint Ward Armstrong to federal court

On the recommendation of Virginia's two Democratic U.S. senators, President Obama is in danger of appointing Ward Armstrong—a conservative who voted to end the Affordable Care Act, supported allowing handguns in bars, and voted to close Virginia’s abortion clinics—to the federal district court.

No way should this happen with a Democratic White House and Democratic Senate, especially after we did away with the filibuster for judicial nominees.
