Dear Lowdowner,
Last month we whipped out the bullhorn and blared a “Call for Nominations” to Lowdowners across the nation: We asked for nominations for the extremely special July Gooberhead Awards issue of The Hightower Lowdown – and the people responded! We’ve received dozens and dozens of fine submissions.
But with the deadline approaching, we need your help to make the issue even stronger.
We need more local and state Gooberheads!
Tell us who you hear squawking anti-people nonsense in your own backyard. Most of the nominations we’ve received so far are for Goobers with well-established national reputations, and though no doubt we could fill an issue with such worthies, we’d like to spark it up by including some up-and-comers. For the sake of all the rest of us, sound an alarm about the dangers in your home district or state!
Not all Goobers are politicians -- not even close. Help us identify those corporados, TV personalities, financial barons, sports stars, and pop-culture divas whose comments and actions best exemplify brainless insensitivity to the needs, wishes and values of the American people. Think outside the political box!
Remember: The Gooberhead Awards are to recognize pre-eminent gasbags in all of public life -- public figures prone to spouting ridiculous, and/or self-important, and/or even dangerous pronouncements with no apparent awareness or shame.
