The Giant Sucking Sound! Congressman Keating's Vote on Fast Track, as well as others

Trans-Pacific Partnership [TPP] and its disastrous step-child, Trade Adjustment Assistance [TAA]  were put on life-support!

Trade Adjustment Assistance [TAA] will use Medicare Funds to re-train Americans for JOBS Big Corporations ship overseas. Medicare is a solvent, self-supporting program that Republicans HATE and seek to destroy!

The fight's not over by a long-shot, but let's thank those who voted against it, like Congressman Bill Keating.

This is the Congressman's web site that offers an email subscription link to his newsletter:

This past Friday, Rep. Keating did the right thing by voting against the bill to Fast Track secret trade deals. But already, House Republicans are planning to try again with another vote to Fast Track the TPP as early as tomorrow.

Can you make a quick call to reinforce your U.S. Rep's opposition to Fast Track?

  1. Call 877-247-1820 to THANK Rep. Keating for voting NO on Fast Track.

  2. Once connected, tell the staffer your name and say:
"I would like to thank Rep. Keating for voting NO on Trade Promotion Authority last week and encourage my member to vote against any further attempts to Fast Track secret trade deals like the TPP.
We won a key procedural vote on Friday that stalled efforts to Fast Track secretive, pro-corporate trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership. This vote was a direct result of the tremendous public opposition to the TPP that Food & Water Watch supporters helped communicate to key members of Congress.

But House Republicans and their corporate allies will not give up easily. They are planning to hold another procedural vote to get the approval they need to send Fast Track to President Obama's desk — putting the green light on a deal that the public hasn't even been allowed to see.

We need every representative who stood up for consumers, workers and the environment to vote NO again on tomorrow's second attempt to Fast Track trade deals.

Call 877-247-1820 to thank your U.S. Representative or use this form to send an email.

Thanks for all you do,
