CounterCurrents: The Approaching US Energy-Economic Crisis

Dear Friend,

Gail Tverberg is a TRUTH TELLER. But I doubt how many listen to her. Today she warns of an "Approaching US Energy-Economic Crisis". It is not just limited to USA. The crisis will consume the entire world economy. Perhaps even civilization as we know it.

Today is the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of Muammar  Qaddafi, revolutionary Pan-Africanist and champion of the Global South. This day also marks the sixth anniversary of the historic battle of Sirte, where Qaddafi, along with an heroic army, including his son Mutassim Billal Qaddafi, and veteran freedom fighter,  Abu-Bakr Yunis Jabr, fought until their convoy was bombed by French fighter planes. Wounded and demobilized, they were captured by Qatari scavengers and executed by Al-Qaeda operatives

Also more stories from around the world.

If you don't mind, and if you think the content of this news letter is critical for the dignified living and survival of humanity and other species on earth, please forward it to your friends and spread the word. The Approaching US Energy-Economic Crisis
by Gail Tverberg

A more likely scenario is that as the quantity of resources falls, wage disparity will increase. As a result, the incomes of many of the lower-wage workers can be expected to fall. The problem is that jobs that pay well require the use of resources; if there is a decrease in resources available, some jobs are likely to be eliminated. Today, such job elimination may come through added technology, eliminating what were previously low-paid jobs. Studies of past collapses support the view that falling wages for the working class played a major role in these collapses.

Western Silence As 20,000 Neo-Nazis March in Ukraine
by Thomas C Mountain

In one of the largest, if not the largest, Neo-Nazi demonstration in Europe since WW2, 20,000 facists marched through the streets of Ukraine’s capital Kiev last weekend under the silent gaze of the western media. Other than Russian state media RT and Sputnik News facists throwing Nazi salutes and parading in their tens of thousands in a European capital didn’t concern any of the major western news outlet. Nothing on BBC, France24, CNN, New York Times, The Guardian…

Anti-Indian Subversion Of Fiji By Apartheid Israel, Pro-Apartheid Australia & Pro-Apartheid America
by Dr Gideon Polya

In 2016 Fiji was devastated by Tropical Cyclone Winston that was the most intense tropical cyclone in the Southern Hemisphere on record. The intensity of such cyclones is now    increased by man-made global warming.  Yet Trump America has determined to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, and in  US lackey, climate criminal Australia there is bipartisan political agreement on a terracidal, unlimited expansion of coal and gas exports for which Australia is a world leader. In 2015 Fiji joined with other Island Nations in the Suva Declaration on Climate Change urging effective climate change action. Of critical importance for Fiji, Island Nations and the world will be the 2017 COP23 Climate Conference in Bonn under the chairmanship of Fiji.

The Trans-Tasman Spat Show: New Zealand-Australian Tensions
by Dr Binoy Kampmark

An Ardern-Turnbull relationship, to that end, will conform to cosmetics, keep up appearances and utter the necessary platitudes international, and often fictional friendships, thrive on. The rest of the time will be spent diligently ignoring each other.

Erdogan’s Insomnia And Safety of NATO’s H-bombs in Turkey
by Nauman Sadiq

Therefore, in order to preempt the likelihood of a nuclear Armageddon, Washington should either press upon its NATO ally to constitute a medical examination board to evaluate Erdogan’s psychiatric condition whether he is eligible to serve as president or not, or the US should recall those nukes and deploy them in a safer country like Germany, which is home to one of the largest overseas US airbase Ramstein, where 47,000 US troops have currently been deployed and which already hosts dozens of similar NATO’s nukes on its territory.

“Interview” with Caoimhghin O’ Croidheain on Our Popular Entertainment
by Annapurna Tosca Sriramarcel

The acceptance of violence in cinema today has become the norm. In almost every genre of cinema [even in comedies (Kick Ass) and musicals (Sweeney Todd)] today extreme violence can crop up at some point during almost any movie. Some film genres are based on violence: horror, war, westerns, crime, terror.

I Know Of None
by Rachel Oxman

But that’s impossible to do as long as no time is taken out to engage in leisurely discussion about HOW to radically transform education coast to coast and beyond. Beyond the borders of America — and within its own opioid-ruled realm — we are imposing American jazz that’s designed to end the world. All enabled by the educational dynamic I’ve highlighted here.

Holy Development Shit
by K P Sasi

To understand what a population can do to a forest and a river, Sabari Mala is classic study. What is great about Pampa river is that this river is filled with only male shit during the season. Because women are not allowed to enter into the temple. Once a woman reaches her age of menstruation, she can not enter the temple, since menstruation is `impure’ as per Brahminical findings. Feminists have raised their voices against this injustice in Kerala. I totally agree with the feminists. The pampa river should be filled with both male and female shit. Why should Pampa river be discriminated

Taj Mahal As Tej Mahal Once Again “There Is A Bee In The Bonnett”
by Subhash Gatade

It is now history how Oak had even petitioned the Supreme Court to rewrite the history of Taj Mahal as being built by a Hindu King during NDA’s first stint of power at the centre. Perhaps the then conducive political atmosphere might have prompted him to gain further legitimacy but he was sadly mistaken. A two member division bench of the Supreme Court dismissed the ‘misconceived’ petition with these remarks ‘Somebody has a bee in his bonnet, hence this petition’.

by Moin Qazi

The Indian film celebrity Aamir Khan is shepherding a very revolutionary campaign–making Maharashtra drought-free in five years. Khan is in the news in villages of Maharashtra for the last two years as conceiver of a revolutionary initiative that is galvanising the rural population to go back to fundamental lessons of water management taught by their ancestors.

It’s has been home to the families ever since they left Rajasthan in the early 1970s. Diwali being the bonanza period, witnesses rigourous work hours and changes the dynamics of the place.
