Middleboro to hold household hazardous waste collection

Middleboro to hold household hazardous waste collection

Middleboro will host the last of six South Shore Recycling Cooperative household hazardous waste collections this fall.
The collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at Middleboro Town Hall lot, 10 Nickerson Ave. Residents of Middleboro, as well as Abington, Cohasset, Duxbury, Hanson, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Rockland, Scituate, Weymouth and Whitman may attend this collection at no charge, with proof of residency.
Residents of Hanover, Hingham, Hull and Kingston must obtain a signed authorization form from their town’s DPW to attend at their Town’s expense. Those towns may limit subsidized quantities.
Residents from any town without authorization, and commercial generators, may attend with a check made out to Stericycle Environmental.
Latex paint is not hazardous, so is not accepted. Recolor Paint in Hanover accepts and recycles usable latex paint and stain for a small fee. Call 833-732-6567. Alternatively, absorb with kitty littler to prevent spillage and dispose with regular trash.
For details, including acceptable materials, go to southshorerecycling.org and click on “Hazardous Waste,” go to a Town Hall for a flyer or call 781-329-8318.
