The American Dream

EXCERPT FROM MY BOOK: Found on Amazon:

The Party of Scrooge -- History of American Politics

Since 2000 when the Bush admin put in the first of their Austerity measures we have seen this story over and over, in fact it was my story. Of course we all try to move on but it is never as easy as you think when all you have is stripped from you.

Here is one of my Quotes of the Day "The American Dream" BY: Bob Taft an Ohio Republican Party politician.

Robert Alphonso Taft was born on September 8, 1889, in Cincinnati, into one of Ohio's most famous political families. His grandfather, Alphonso, had been President Ulysses S. Grant's secretary of war. His father was William Howard Taft, later to become the 19th president of the United States.

"Everything depends on a good job - strong families, strong communities, the pursuit of the American dream, and a tax base to support schools for our kids and services for our seniors."
Bob Taft

It was right around my birthday I sat back and I had thoughts on the American Dream and I came across this Quote from Bob Taft. Taft a true conservative and comes from nothing but a long line of ultra conservatives.

This quote is the American Dream and then I realized everything in this Quote is being attacked, opposed and destroyed by the current Republicans / Tea Party / Party of Scrooge.

Shows you that even their own party members have no clue the damage they are causing to the current recovery and the opportunity for all Americans to have a shot at the American Dream.

Here is a Poem I wrote about the American Dream:

I ONCE WAS PART OF THE AMERICAN DREAM

I am no one, I am everyone, I am an American.
I once was part of the American Dream.

I had a good job with a corporation that had pride in its employees;
I was proud to be working for that corporation.

I owned a home where my kids could get a good education.
I watched them grow and wanted the American Dream for them.

Something Changed... and it was called 'Right Wing Ideology'.
At first it was subtle, but soon it was obvious; things were not right.

They called it 'Mergers and Acquisitions', but in reality, your once proud corporation was getting bought out by a even larger corporation.

Employees now work longer hours, no longer with pride, but with fear.
The new corporation is always looking to outsource your job.

Soon your job becomes a number, and that number will be getting sent overseas.
Your job is gone, your pride is gone, and soon, your home and your health are gone.

Thirty years of Right Wing Ideology has dismantled the middle class.
Right Wing Ideology has ended the American Dream for me my Kids and my Grand Kids.

I am no one, I am everyone, I am an American.
I once was part of the American Dream.
