Karl Rove Gets Mocked on Fox News Over His Continued Benghazi Conspiracies
September 9, 2013 By
Karl Rove tried again to perpetuate the myth that the Obama administration simply sat by and did nothing, even though they knew our embassy was going to be attacked.
When the truth is we were made aware after the attack had already started, and orders weren’t given to send troops in because it wasn’t quite clear at that time what we might be sending our troops into.
Could you imagine the Republican backlash had President Obama sent troops in, resulting in numerous deaths? They would have screamed from the rooftops about Obama naively sending American troops into a dangerous situation, resulting in some of their deaths.
It’s like with everything Obama does. Whatever he did is wrong, because Republicans will always just support the opposite of whatever he does.
Well, Karl Rove (and to a lesser extent Brit Hume) felt the need to push Juan Williams on Fox News about these asinine Republican Benghazi conspiracies. Watch the video of the full exchange (if you can stomach it) below:

A Fox News Sunday panel erupted over whether Benghazi was a phony scandal ginned up by Republicans or a reasonable inquiry into the events surrounding the attack on a U.S. consulate one year ago this week, with Karl Rove yelling that the Obama administration had deliberated misled the American populace about the attack, and Juan Williams dismissing his and Brit Hume's continued outrage.
"The American people have a legitimate question: why were efforts not undertaken to save our people?" Rove asked. When Williams tried to rebut this, Rove shouted: "No assets were put in motion, and as you just admitted, U.S. military on the ground in Tripoli were told don't go to Benghazi."
"There was no stand down order," Williams said. "What we have is: don't go in after the fact, when we don't know what you're getting into, and it could result in more American deaths."
"You're all in the weeds here," Williams said, as Rove continued to scream over him. "You continue to prosecute this like there's some huge crime. Stop living in the past, and trying to get after Susan Rice or whoever. This has nothing to do with Ambassador Stevens."
"You may be comfortable with the American people being told a deliberate lie by the administration, but I'm not, and I think we need to get to the bottom of it," Rove said.
"The list of questions that remain unanswered to this day are what make this still a legitimate conversation," Brit Hume said in his calm baritone. "Juan, I'm sorry to say, this is simply not over."
"It's gone baby," Williams said, as the panel cracked up. "It's in your head. That's about the only place."

In true Fox News fashion, Rove continued to try to shout over Williams to perpetuate the nearly year-long right-wing lies about what happened in Libya.
Rove, speaking over Williams said, “You may be comfortable with the American people being told a deliberate lie by the administration, but I’m not, and I think we need to get to the bottom of it.”
To which Brit Hume followed with, “The list of questions that remain unanswered to this day are what make this still a legitimate conversation. Juan, I’m sorry to say, this is simply not over.”
So what did Mr. Williams have to say in response? ”It’s gone baby. It’s in your head. That’s about the only place.”
Which is absolutely true. Time and time again, the Republican “conspiracy” about Benghazi has been proven to be nothing more than their pathetic attempt to first attack President Obama, and now set up a future attack on probable Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Republicans need to keep this ridiculous conspiracy in the news somehow, since it’s about the only weapon they have against Clinton should she decide to run in 2016.
But just like with their other conspiracies such as fake birth certificates, microchips being required in the Affordable Care Act, death panels and a whole host of other right-wing fear mongering and rhetoric, Benghazi has been shoved to the far right reaches of their political party. It’s now mostly supported by the fringes of the conservative base which reside far outside the realm of common sense and reality.
But it was just nice to see someone sit on Fox News and openly mock Karl Rove’s attempt to perpetuate some ridiculous lie.
Personally, I still don’t think Karl Rove has mentally recovered from the fact that President Obama won re-election. I honestly believe he thought Republicans would buy that election, and when that failed, he’s been suffering from a complete mental breakdown ever since.
After all, the whole world is talking about Syria—and he’s still stuck on Benghazi.
