Bloated U.S. Military Budget

CLW

How many taxpayer dollars go toward Pentagon spending? And are we spending our dollars wisely?

Check out this chart that shows that the US spends nearly as much on defense as the next 15 countries combined:

While Pentagon spending is declining as a result of the drawdowns from Iraq and Afghanistan, there are still a lot of reductions in spending that could be achieved.

The U.S. military budget remains far higher than it was during the Cold War. And more spending doesn’t necessarily mean more safety. The Pentagon is still spending an unnecessarily high amount on Cold War weaponry, including nuclear weapons.

A smart, modern national security starts with smarter spending. It’s time for new priorities – sign our petition if you agree.

Thanks for your interest in this important issue.

Sincerely,

John Isaacs & Guy Stevens
