When IGNORANCE & FEAR rules REASON....WASH YOUR HANDS!

WBUR [our local NPR station] has offered numerous programs, in great depth, explaining the precautions required to prevent the spread of EBOLA....MORE IMPORTANTLY, to PREVENT THE SPREAD OF ANY INFECTION.

Driving in traffic, WBUR presented yet more irrational thinking and attempted to offer assuring information for the public. [One woman indicated that she had sanitized the play equipment of her child with alcohol. Folks, let's be sensible! Yeah! It should be periodically wiped down with chlorine and water for many other reasons.]

Folks, have we become so poorly educated and hysterical?

One of the statistics offered was that the FLU, the commonly spread FLU kills 28,000 in the US each year.

Maybe you can take the time, research the FACTS and CLARIFY.

Go into a supermarket, watch the infants and toddlers licking the handles of supermarket carts.

Watch the kids dropping their binkies, picking them up, putting them in their mouths.....

Watch that child press nose to glass.....collecting public germs....

You go to a restaurant, wash your hands, use the germ-laden handle to exit the restroom.

Do you think to take the towel to open the door?

You're in a public space. You use a handrail. Who has used that before you?

WBUR offered an interview of a journalist who traveled to West Africa to report.

He was instructed to carry a bottle of chlorine and water with him, wash his hand AFTER he touched ANY surface.

Several years ago, after a particularly brutal FLU SEASON, a doctors' office indicated that NOT ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE had contracted the FLU.

WHY? THEY WASHED THEIR HANDS!
