Dear Friend,
Ambassador K. P Fabian writes the U.S.-North Korea confrontation has reached a perilous level and the risk of war is serious.
Lionel Anet writes we presently are using whatever we can, with little to no concerns for our children’s future, as they, on present trend have little prospect and less to no chance that their offspring will be able to survive. Yet the continuation of life is life’s primary concern. But not in civilisation, with the new socioeconomic system of global capitalism, education primary purpose is to increase the growth of its economy regardless of consequences.
K.P Sasi writes a brief sketch of one of the greatest activists tht India has ever seen. He writes , "Shankar Guha Niyogi was a leader with immense integrity and political purpose-fulness in life. And I am aware that I am not the right person to write about him. But since certain memories haunt me, I feel it may be good to relieve myself by writing about him."

Autopilot Wars: Sixteen Years, But Who’s Counting?
by Andrew J Bacevich
Consider, if you will, these two indisputable facts. First, the United States is today more or less permanently engaged in hostilities in not one faraway place, but at least seven. Second, the vast majority of the American people could not care less.
U.S. Public Don’t Care If ‘News’ Media Lie
by Eric Zuesse
To say that the U.S. public don’t care if ‘news’media lie, is shocking, but I shall here present evidence that it actually is true — not in some mere theory, but in empirical fact.
Revolution, Not Reform: Moral Courage, Redefining Progress, And The Myth of Social Democracy
by William Hawes
That’s not to say that winning an election isn’t worthwhile. If an electoral victory will seriously help your community, go for it. Yet, the Left should think deeply about how to go about this. If we are to beat The Powers That Be, we should use the element of surprise.
The Seeds of Agroecology And Common Ownership
by Colin Todhunter
The increasingly globalised industrial food system that transnational agribusiness promotes is not feeding the world and is responsible for some of the planet’s most pressing political, social and environmental crises. Localised, traditional methods of food production have given way to globalised supply chains dominated by transnational companies policies and actions which have resulted in the destruction of habitat and livelihoods and the imposition of corporate-controlled, chemical-intensive (monocrop) agriculture that weds farmers and regions to a wholly exploitative system of neoliberal globalisation.
Existence Of God(s) Or Not?
by Sally Dugman
I don’t care whatever god or gods bring your life meaning. My only hope is that you can help bring life forward with fervency on this planet regardless of your religious views.
We Need To Re-Educate Ourselves To Survive And Live Life At Its Best
by Lionel Anet
We presently are using whatever we can, with little to no concerns for our children’s future, as they, on present trend have little prospect and less to no chance that their offspring will be able to survive. Yet the continuation of life is life’s primary concern. From Mathura To Farooqui Rape Case: The Regressive Patriarchy Found its Way Back
by Adv Dr Shalu Nigam
The feminist jurisprudence and understanding of rape law and consent from gender perspective is shattered by the Farooqui’s decision in multiple manner. The situation reflects that the embedded patriarchy and the entrenched prejudice and bias regulates women’s access to justice. This must also be understood in the context of the overt and covert backlash against women who attempt to claim their citizenship rights, whether in terms of access to public spaces, education, the right to redressal, equal opportunities at the workplace, or to exercise their choice in marriage. This ongoing politics of backlash against women in law, society and polity call for introspection about how to make gender equality a reality.

Bangladesh, Myanmar, And The Rohingyas: Is Hasina Hopelessly Deserted By Her Immediate Neighbors?
by Jalal Uddin Khan
On this uprooting of the Arakanese/RakhaineRohingyas by the Buddhist Myanmar and pushing them homeless into Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina finds herself almost isolated internationally. No important player in the region is on her side. She has been cheated into cuckoldry by her ostensibly friendly (if not actually deceiving) India, China, Russia, Japan, and even America, who are all solely driven by their narrow, mechanical, and selfish mercantile theory of economics that is bereft of moral content and human as well as humanitarian concerns
Believe Me I Am Not A Braid Chopper
by Imran Khan
Now there are many theories regarding braid chopping. I don’t accept or refute any. However I do take the position that I don’t know. At least I am not presenting a false theory. My only point is that lets first study, investigate and understand all this mysterious phenomenon and then decide about a rational and reasoned action. I am expressing this opinion only with the intention to contribute towards the solution of braid chopping chaos. I have no sympathy for braid choppers and believe me I am not a braid chopper too.
India Can’t Afford To Ignore Mental Health
by Moin Qazi
According to an IndiaSpend report, the number of Indians suffering from mental illness exceeds that of the population of South Africa. At present, the mentally ill account for nearly 6.5 percent of the country’s population and it is estimated that by 2020 this number will increase to a staggering 20 percent. Further, the World Health Organisation estimates that nearly 56 million Indians — or 4.5% of India’s population — suffer from depression. Another 38 million Indians –or 3% of India’s population -suffer from anxiety disorders. Many of these people live with both. . Many of these illnesses can be treated, but access to treatment is often difficult, and stigma continues to scare individuals away from seeking diagnosis and appropriate treatments even when they are available.
Shankar Guha Niyogi – An Inspiration Of The Third Kind
by K P Sasi
Shankar Guha Niyogi was a leader with immense integrity and political purpose-fulness in life. And I am aware that I am not the right person to write about him. But since certain memories haunt me, I feel it may be good to relieve myself by writing about him.
