State rests case in

KinderCare hit-and-

run trial

Once upon a time.....

...the LEMON LADY had a car accident......

Cars don't fare well when they hit BIG TREES!

THE LEMON LADY conducted some research.....bored herself silly in the process!

At that time, FORD installed KILL SWITCHES in the trunk that SHUT OFF the electric fuel pump on IMPACT!

There were a number of other features that defined Ford's emphasis on SAFETY......until.....

.....the MERCURY SABLE came slowly to rest on someone's lawn because the KILL SWITCH shut off the ignition.

NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED, the MERCURY SABLE didn't hit the house [and there were people at home at the time ......

No accidents are planned and one can't anticipate every circumstance.....

There have been 2 HIGH PROFILE CASES in which it appears that TOYOTAS have ACCELERATED ON IMPACT.

This nice lady is Noriko Uno....

...Noriko Uno's TOYOTA was struck by another ......

..Noriko Uno's last minutes were filled with terror trying to stop her RUNAWAY TOYOTA.

After being struck in the rear, Albert Campbell's TOYOTA SOLARA slammed into KinderCare.....

Blood test results released in KinderCare crash

Winter Park, FL —
The Florida Highway Patrol released the Blood Alcohol test results taken from 61-year-old Albert Dean Campbell the day of the KinderCare day care crash. Campbell was the driver of the 2006 Toyota Solara that was forced into the day care center after being struck by a Dodge Durango.

Campbell voluntarily gave a blood draw at the scene of the crash that killed four-year-old Lily Quintus and injured 13 others. The results released Thursday showed there were no drugs or alcohol in Campbells system.

Mr. Campbell testified that he APPLIED THE BRAKES ATTEMPTING TO STOP HIS TOYOTA.

If Mr. Campbell applied the BRAKES and his TOYOTA didn't stop, who is asking WHY?

Mr. Campbell is NOT charged and has no reason to lie or falsify his testimony. Does he?

Surely Mr. Campbell lives with the impact of the KinderCare accident.

Shouldn't we be wondering?

In TOYOTA's arrogance and pretense to produce 'SAFE VEHICLES,' why doesn't TOYOTA have a simple KILL SWITCH?

JUST MY OPINION AT THE MOMENT

KinderCare Crash Trial Update

The report below indicates that Albert Campbell, the driver of the RUNAWAY TOYOTA SOLARA that rammed the KinderCare building was accelerating the entire time.

That report fails to address why FHP Officers were measuring skid marks.

This is the second high profile case in which a TOYOTA was impacted and the driver was unable to stop the vehicle.

Deadly KinderCare crash trial continues Friday

Last Updated: December 05, 2014, 9:04 AM

ORLANDO --
Late Friday afternoon the state rested its case against the man accused of causing a deadly day care crash. That crash killed a four-year-old girl.

Prosecutors tried to paint a picture for the jury Friday for why Robert Corchado, 29, may not have wanted to stop after allegedly rear-ending another car, which was then propelled through a Winter Park KinderCare day care facility, killing Lily Quintus and injuring 11 others.

One by one crime scene experts said the evidence collected back in April showed Corchado knew he had been in an accident and should have known there were injuries.

To place Corchado as the driver of the Dodge SUV that crashed into a Toyota Solara that careened into the day care, experts first set out to prove the two vehicles made contact at some point.

Laura Marano, a senior crime lab analyst for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement told jurors, "I was asked to compare any paint found to the paint on the front bumper of the Dodge Durango."
She went on to testify the paint did match. Then other experts testified that DNA collected from the steering wheel of the SUV matched Corchado.

Cell phone records show Corchado's cell phone was making calls from the area near the time of the accident. And then there was the vehicle itself, found outside of one of Corchado's friends' homes.

Investigators testified they found a backpack full of drugs and items with Corchado's fingerprints on it.

"The first bag is an envelope containing a white substance removed from Bag D," said Vanessa Nylander, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "The second bag is 34 baggies containing white substance."

The defense contends that it was more than an hour and a half after the accident that the Durango was located and there was no proof the drugs were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Corchado's attorney told the court that Corchado will decide over the weekend if he will testify for his own defense.

Trial underway for man accused in fatal Winter Park day care crash

Robert Corchado charged with causing crash, trafficking in heroin

ORLANDO, Fla. -
The trial for the man accused of causing a deadly day care crash in Orange County began on Thursday with emotional testimony detailing the moments after the crash.

Robert Corchado is accused of hitting a Toyota Solara, causing it to crash into a KinderCare Child Day Care Center, and then leaving the scene in April.

The crash killed 4-year-old Lily Quintus and injured more than a dozen others.

Corchado, 29, was charged with leaving the scene of the crash, trafficking in heroin and other felonies. If convicted, he faces at least 30 years in prison.

Prosecutors began their case on Thursday saying that Corchado knew that he caused the crash and that he tried to cover it up.

Day care workers testified about the scene of the crash and jurors saw images from inside of the building.

VPK teacher Donna Brashears told jurors she was handing out snacks moments before the crash and said she gave 4-year-old Lily Quintus CPR.

Defense attorneys argue that Corchado had no idea of the destruction he left behind.

KinderCare case blames other driver

Click on Lily Quintus, KinderCare, Toyota Solara for additional information related to the article below.

This little charmer, Lily Quintus was killed when a RUNAWAY TOYOTA SOLARA struck her day care.

After Mr. Corchado struck the TOYOTA SOLARA, evidence indicates that the TOYOTA SOLARA WILDLY ACCELERATED, leaving skid marks that photos indicate were measured.

This seems similar to a TOYOTA ACCIDENT that killed this nice lady, Noriko Uno....

...this is her RUN-AWAY TOYOTA....

After Toyota Solara slams into KinderCare, Day Care Reopens

Narrative of KinderCare Crash offered below by Charlene Blake.

Feel free to share additional comments and information:
suddenunintendedacceleration@gmail.com

If one examines the two vehicles involved closely, it's easy to see that the damage incurred is out of line with the assessment that the Dodge Durango somehow catapulted the Toyota Solara into this KinderCare facility. First of all, the trajectory was anything but straight. The Solara angled back from the street toward the daycare in a virtual modified U-shape. The Solara careened over a median, over a curb, through mature shrubs, into an exterior wall and then traveled deep within the building into a second room. It came to rest not far for the back wall of the facility. There are numerous pictures of black skid marks within the building on the floor of the rooms the Solara came in contact with.

The Solara is NOT a billiard ball that was hit in such a way to send it plowing through a building at a very odd angle. Further, the rear of the Solara shows no significant damage. The Dodge Durango was driven away from the scene so the impact did not affect its function. From all signs of the two vehicles, it appears the accident was a fender-bender...but not just any fender-bender. The Solara driver reported that the vehicle continued to gain speed after the hit by the Durango and that the steering was not working. Both these statements coupled with the trajectory of the Solara fit a sudden unintended acceleration event possibility.

Was the Durango impact significant enough to trigger an electronic sudden unintended acceleration event in the Toyota Solara? How likely is such an event? Several world-renowned experts (ones who Toyota would rather you not know about for obvious reasons) have highlighted more than one way an ELECTRONICALLY-induced sudden unintended acceleration event can occur.

Toyota's electronic throttle control system software was found to have glitches that could cause such an event. Worse, such an electronic glitch could render the fail-safe (way to stop the SUA) INEFFECTIVE. Result? The Toyota could be a runaway stoppable only by impact. Even then, the engine will continue revving forward until something stops forward (or backward as the case may be) momentum.
What has Toyota admitted to regarding ELECTRONIC sudden unintended acceleration? Absolutely nothing, of course! It has washed its corporate hands clean of all things SUA-related since that huge $1.2 BILLION DOJ settlement. In the meantime, the NHTSA and Toyota have received countless complaints about Toyota and Lexus vehicles "taking off," "having a mind of its own," "going airborne," etc. Storefront crashes and crashes-into-buildings/homes continue with a disproportionate number attributed to Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

There's a HUGE push to show driver "pedal misapplication" and much reference to this being a problem with "elderly" drivers. Drivers own complaints (showing remarkable similarity if one compares notes among these types of accidents) are discounted. Worse, drivers are discredited...some say even targeted...by those who wish to keep the truth from surfacing.
Let's see...have we seen an automaker hide key safety-related information before? Have we seen any cases where the NHTSA has even covered for an automaker in such unconscionable actions? OK...you get the idea. THINK...why would an automaker wish to keep ELECTRONIC sudden unintended acceleration a secret? After all, isn't SUA history and just about pesky floor mats, sticky accelerator pedals, or better-yet driver error? NO! That's just what the automaker would like you to believe...and there's a HUGE economic reason for that, isn't there?
Unfortunately, what you do not know about ELECTRONICALLY-induced SUA can be an issue as many of the current SUA victims are learning the hard way. An electronic sudden unintended acceleration event can result (and has!) in jail time for the driver. Why? Speculation of "pedal misapplication" is all that is left when the historically-unreliable EDR (black box) shows no braking even when the driver has two feet on the brake and incurs foot damage (see Tanya Spotts Lexus case). The Toyota electronic throttle control system software glitch has been found not to leave a fault code. The vehicle brakes which did NOT function at the time of the ETCS-i software glitch show no signs of a failure mode. The DRIVER is assumed GUILTY and the vehicle is found fault-free. It continues to happen DAILY.
Absence of proof is NOT proof of absence. This electronic SUA problem is one that every driver should be concerned about. Drivers should be asking some tough questions of the automaker, Toyota specifically.
Let's not forget that these engines are complex and computer-driven. Electronics will have glitches. The important factor is how these glitches are handled within and what safety standards have been applied. An electronic software glitch which renders a fail-safe ineffective is totally unacceptable. Don't make assumptions that strict safety standards have been applied when they have not!
