Out-Of-Cotrol TOYOTA CAMRY hits house
It is unclear from published reports and inquiries if the TOYOTA CAMRY [in the article below] was struck by another vehicle before ACCELERATING UNCONTROLLABLY.
If the TOYOTA CAMRY was struck by another vehicle that caused its WILD ACCELERATION, this will be the 3rd such incident that has been documented and reported.
The TOYOTA SOLARA that caused the death of Lily Quintus was struck in the rear before careening uncontrollably into her Day Care Center.
...skid marks revealed that the TOYOTA SOLARA driver attempted to stop.....
This nice lady is Noriko Uno....
...after Noriko Uno's TOYOTA was struck by another vehicle, the TOYOTA took off accelerating uncontrollably.....
Is this another TOYOTA problem that NHTSA is ignoring?

Pottstown >> A driver lost control of her car Monday morning, causing her to speed through nearly one mile of Hanover Street and ending only as she crashed into a home at Third and Hanover streets, police said.
The incident began at 11:18 a.m. when the woman’s Toyota Camry was struck by another vehicle on the 422 off-ramp at South Hanover Street. Police said the impact cause her to hit a porch and lose the ability to brake.
“We are investigating whether it was driver error or mechanical,” said Sgt. Thomas McCloy of Pottstown Police.

The woman travelled at a high rate of speed up Hanover through busy intersections at Industrial Highway, High Street, King Street and Beech Street. Finally, she went through the parking lot at Third, hitting a grass embankment, launching into the air and hitting the porch and brick outer wall of a home on the 200 block of North Hanover, police said.
The 59-year-old driver took to the wrong side of the street to avoid traffic, driving northbound in the southbound lanes, police said.
When police arrived on the scene, the woman was out of the car and “was very upset,” McCloy said. Goodwill ambulance treated the woman for minor injuries and she was taken to Reading Hospital for evaluation, police said.
The accident caused extensive damage to the house, according to police.
Earlier version of the story:
POTTSTOWN >> A car that careened out of control for several blocks on Hanover Street crashed into a house at the corner of Third and Hanover streets Monday morning. No one was reported injured in the house.
The visibly shaken driver was being tended to by paramedics at the scene.
Witnesses said it appeared the driver had a mechanical problem with her car while driving on Hanover Street in North Coventry, causing her car to race forward across the Hanover Street bridge and through downtown Pottstown. The vehicle crashed into the house across from St. Aloysius Church, witnesses said.

Once upon a time.....
...the LEMON LADY had a car accident......
Cars don't fare well when they hit BIG TREES!
THE LEMON LADY conducted some research.....bored herself silly in the process!
At that time, FORD installed KILL SWITCHES in the trunk that SHUT OFF the electric fuel pump on IMPACT!
There were a number of other features that defined Ford's emphasis on SAFETY......until.....
.....the MERCURY SABLE came slowly to rest on someone's lawn because the KILL SWITCH shut off the ignition.
NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED, the MERCURY SABLE didn't hit the house [and there were people at home at the time ......
No accidents are planned and one can't anticipate every circumstance.....
There have been 2 HIGH PROFILE CASES in which it appears that TOYOTAS have ACCELERATED ON IMPACT.
This nice lady is Noriko Uno....
...Noriko Uno's TOYOTA was struck by another ......
..Noriko Uno's last minutes were filled with terror trying to stop her RUNAWAY TOYOTA.
After being struck in the rear, Albert Campbell's TOYOTA SOLARA slammed into KinderCare.....
Blood test results released in KinderCare crash
Winter Park, FL —
The Florida Highway Patrol released the Blood Alcohol test results taken from 61-year-old Albert Dean Campbell the day of the KinderCare day care crash. Campbell was the driver of the 2006 Toyota Solara that was forced into the day care center after being struck by a Dodge Durango.
Campbell voluntarily gave a blood draw at the scene of the crash that killed four-year-old Lily Quintus and injured 13 others. The results released Thursday showed there were no drugs or alcohol in Campbells system.

Mr. Campbell testified that he APPLIED THE BRAKES ATTEMPTING TO STOP HIS TOYOTA.
If Mr. Campbell applied the BRAKES and his TOYOTA didn't stop, who is asking WHY?
Mr. Campbell is NOT charged and has no reason to lie or falsify his testimony. Does he?
Surely Mr. Campbell lives with the impact of the KinderCare accident.
Shouldn't we be wondering?
In TOYOTA's arrogance and pretense to produce 'SAFE VEHICLES,' why doesn't TOYOTA have a simple KILL SWITCH?

This little charmer, Lily Quintus was killed when a RUNAWAY TOYOTA SOLARA struck her day care.
After Mr. Corchado struck the TOYOTA SOLARA, evidence indicates that the TOYOTA SOLARA WILDLY ACCELERATED, leaving skid marks that photos indicate were measured.

Judge: KinderCare crash jury won't hear about earlier drug case
By Jeff Weiner, Orlando Sentinel
When Robert Corchado goes to trial in the April hit-and-run crash at Goldenrod Road KinderCare, prosecutors won't be able to tell his jury about another crash months earlier involving illegal drugs, a judge ruled this week.
Corchado, 29, faces several felonies, including leaving the scene of a fatal accident and heroin trafficking, in connection with the crash at the Orange County day care April 9.
The case is currently set for trial Dec. 1.
Prosecutors say Corchado rear-ended a Toyota Solara on Goldenrod Road. The car's driver lost control and drove into the day care, injuring a dozen children, including 4-year-old Lily Quintus, who died at a local hospital.
Authorities say Corchado abandoned the sport utility vehicle he was driving at a nearby house, leaving behind packages of heroin, cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle as he scrambled to evade a region-wide manhunt.
Prosecutors in the day care crash had hoped to use evidence from an earlier collision in the upcoming trial: In December, Seminole County deputies say Corchado crashed into a parked vehicle in a car full of drugs.
The state has to prove that Corchado knew, or should have known, that the day care crash had caused serious injury or death when he fled, and argued the Seminole County crash would help with that element of the case.
The reason: In the December crash, Corchado is suspected of trying to ditch the drugs before deputies arrived.
In the KinderCare crash, he left the illicit materials behind for authorities to find — because he was so "freaked out" by the chaos he'd just caused at the day care, prosecutor Ryan Williams argued in a recent hearing.
In an order this week, Circuit Judge Greg Tynan rejected that argument. He said the state's theory of why Corchado left the drugs behind is "too tenuous" to link the two cases sufficiently "to make such evidence relevant."

Toyota Corollas probed again...What is TOYOTA HIDING?
This nice lady is Noriko Uno.
Noriko Uno tried to STOP HER RUNAWAY TOYOTA.....
Instead of TOYOTA correcting their TOYOTA/LEXUS PROBLEMS, they toss their gaggle of attorneys .......
By Jerry Hirsch
Los Angeles Times

Federal safety regulators are looking into complaints that Toyota Corollas can surge unexpectedly even when a driver is pressing the brake pedal.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it is examining 163 complaints from drivers of the small car to determine whether there is a problem that warrants the opening of a formal safety investigation.
The agency said it is responding to a petition for an investigation from Kathy Ruginis of Bristol, R.I., who claimed her Corolla surged forward into a Jeep even though she was braking as she parked the Toyota. Safety Research & Strategies Inc., a Rehoboth, Mass., consulting firm that frequently prepares testimony in auto-defect litigation, said information from the Corolla's event-data recorder backs up the woman's claim.
NHTSA said it will look to see if there is an unintended acceleration problem in as many as 1.7 million Corollas from the 2006 through 2010 model years.
Toyota said in a statement that "it will cooperate fully with any inquiry."
The automaker has faced previous probes into problems with unintended acceleration. They started after a horrific 2009 crash of a Toyota-built Lexus outside San Diego that took the life of an off-duty California Highway Patrol officer and his family. That crash was thought to have been caused by floor mats jamming the gas pedal.
Toyota subsequently recalled millions of vehicles to replace floor mats and fix a mechanical problem that might have caused gas pedals to get stuck on their own.
Earlier this year, Toyota admitted deceiving regulators [TOYOTA ADMITTED THEY LIED!!]and consumers about the two defects linked to unintended sudden acceleration and agreed to pay $1.2 billion, the largest penalty ever imposed on an automaker. The deal settled a four-year federal criminal investigation into whether Toyota properly reported safety complaints about sudden acceleration.
Toyota was formally charged with one count of wire fraud, but the Justice Department will dismiss the charge after three years if the automaker abides by the settlement terms.
As part of the agreement the Justice Department appointed David Kelley, a former U.S. attorney, to serve as the independent safety monitor at U.S. operations of Toyota Motor Corp.
Ruginis and her husband, Bob, have met with Kelley's staff to discuss their Corolla's crash, said Sean Kane, the president of Safety Research & Strategies, the firm that reviewed the collision data.
"The Toyota monitor has an obligation to address safety and whether Toyota is accurately addressing it," Kane said.
Toyota examined the car, gave it a test drive and reviewed the information from the event-data recorder and decided there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.
Ruginis had previously had the Corolla repaired for both the floor-mat and gas-pedal recalls but reported the vehicle still had a history of "briefly surging." She said it happened two to four times a month.
In the five seconds before the June 8 crash into the Jeep, the data recorder in the Corolla indicated that the accelerator pedal was untouched, the brake pedal was depressed and the speed of the car and engine power increased, Kane said. He said that was evidence of unintended acceleration.
However, Toyota said information from the data recorder shows that Ruginis was not braking until just a fraction of a second prior to the collision.
Last year, an Oklahoma City jury found that faulty electronic systems caused a Camry sedan to suddenly accelerate and crash, killing one woman and injuring another.

Toyota, however, has maintained that there was no electronic flaw that might cause its cars to accelerate unexpectedly.
PLEASE NOTE: EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE INCLUDES THIS TOYOTA PROPAGANDA WHICH IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE!
A 10-month investigation, conducted primarily by NASA engineers, found no evidence that electronic defects or software code errors could have caused the thousands of sudden-acceleration incidents reported over the last decade.

SUV crashed into Little Caesar's in Humboldt Park
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A woman was injured early Friday when another car crashed into hers in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, causing her car to spin out and crash into a Little Caesar's pizza restaurant.
A Toyota was stopped at a red light at the 3300 block of West North Avenue about 2:30 a.m. when a Suzuki collided with it, police said.
The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to spin around and crash into the Little Caesar's, News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
The 56-year-old driver of the Toyota was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was treated and released, Estrada said.
The 22-year-old driver of the Suzuki, Louis J. Griggs of the 100 block of N. Hamlin, was cited for driving too fast for conditions, Estrada said.

Let's not forget those who sacrificed their lives because of TOYOTA!
Is Toyota Telling the Truth About Sudden Acceleration?
Toyota says its problems with sudden unintended acceleration are in the rearview mirror, but newly disclosed documents raise questions that experts say have not yet been answered.
Ok... if the electronics were a significant part of the problem, then why have the reports of sudden acceleration in Lexus models stopped? Has the press lost interest? Have the attorneys stopped picking up the phone calls from affected owners? Has Toyota actually fixed an EMI problem on the sly, coming to all owner's homes at night with a repair kit?
While the article may document bad policies, procedures, and perhaps ill-will at Toyota, nothing in my scan of the article suggests that Toyota has successfully covered up a problem with the electronics, unless, of course, one of the options above applies.

This is a truly excellent article. David Hechler deserves great credit and congratulations for getting the story right.
I am a lawyer, but I do not represent either side. I have worked on these issues since late 2009; and I have dealt with many of those who have tried to ferret out the truth, which Toyota has done its best to bury.
See http://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2010/01/04/toyota-and-lexus-vehicles-are-unsafe/ ("Toyota And Lexus Vehicles Are Unsafe") (see also the extensive comments beneath the article)
What Toyota has done is a travesty. The company has engaged in probably the biggest cover-up in global business history, and it deserves to pay a very heavy price for it, including a worldwide boycott of Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Nothing less will suffice.
The lawyers on both sides of this fight have enriched themselves, but they have not ferreted out the truth nor served the public good!

There are some 300 product liability law suits waiting to be tried or settled. It will be interesting to watch this lengthy process unfold as these cases are moved forward by the Courts. Which will Toyota settle and which will they try? What information about the company and their revenue or costs, related to this defect, will be revealed?
No matter how it all concludes, the questions about how our society will deal with the clash of commerce and advancing science linger. When money is at stake regarding valuable scientific discoveries, who is responsible for the deaths that result? What is to be done for the uninformed consumer who is the victim? How important are people when great amounts of business and therefore money, clash, resulting in human sacrifice?
Questions for the ages and still no easy answers...but these questions keep coming up.

In this excellent and comprehensive examination of problems related to Toyota's SUA failures and NHTSA's questionable treatment of those problems, Ford Motor Company is quoted as follows:
"NHTSA has investigated alleged unintended accelerations many times over many years and has concluded that driver error is the predominant cause of these events/"
The key phrase in this statement is "predominant cause." By using it, Ford acknowledges the existence of other causes, including flaws in the vehicles' incredibly labyrinthine electronics systems. Drivers have no control whatsoever over defects imbedded [sic] in their cars' designs. The simplistic "driver error" catch-all, a favorite with manufacturers and even NHTSA when vehicle defects are at issue, simply won't wash.
As long as doubt exists as to the role of electronic-system glitches in causing crashes and their injurious outcomes - and as this article makes clear, doubt abounds - NHTSA is duty-bound to continue its investigations and refrain from declaring, as DOT Sec. LaHood did of the Toyota SUA issue, "The verdict is in and there is no electronics problem."
The verdict isn't close to being in and the problem can't be made to go away by wishful thinking or semantics sleight-of-hand; LaHood, who will shortly leave DOT, has bequeathed it to his successor, whoever that may be.

Ya buy a defective product, the manufacturer repairs or replaces it!
Not so with the AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY!
Once upon a time, Ford screwed up BIG TIME!
FORD produced the PINTO....the GAS TANK EXPLODED!
FORD ignored complaints....the problem was white-washed, much as the TOYOTA problems have been....drivers and passengers were killed or injured....
When enough people were burned to death, FORD was forced to recall the PINTO and modify the gas tank.
In this space, a few victims of TOYOTA'S SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION have been posted, names and faces, along with their crumpled or burned TOYOTAS.

You didn't know them.....
The crash on Nov.
5 killed Paul Van Alfen, 66, and his son's fiancee Charlene Lloyd, 38; Van
Alfen's wife and son were also injured in the wreck. Unlike similar crashes in
Toyotas later blamed on drivers mistaking the accelerator for the brake,
police say Van Alfen's Camry left skid
marks as it exited Interstate 80 near Wendover, Utah.
presumably from holding down the brake pedal. The Utah Highway Patrol said
Monday that based on statements from the passengers who survived, the
Camry's gas
pedal appeared stuck.
Van Alfen's Camry
had been covered by three recalls relating to sudden acceleration
problems, including floor mats and sticking pedals. While
investigators believe Van Alfen had brought his Camry in for the repairs, it's
not clear what fixes had been performed. Toyota has also said it was upgrading
2008 Camrys to include brake override systems designed to cut engine power if
the brake and accelerator are pressed simultaneously; and once again, it's not
clear whether that upgrade was performed.
This is Mark Saylor's family....they look like a nice family....they lost their lives when their OUT-OF-CONTROL TOYOTA LEXUS caught on fire on impact.....TOYOTA settled for $10 MILLION with a GAG ORDER [confidentiality agreement].....
Koua Fong Lee went to prison because his OUT-OF-CONTROL TOYOTA killed 3 people....
Did TOYOTA step up to the plate? Of course not!
There are more....many ...many more.....what is the number of injuries and deaths that will force TOYOTA to correct their problems....or attract public attention?
Good thing TOYOTA doesn't make toasters.....they'd be out of business by now because of their DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS....
Let's not forget those who sacrificed their lives because of TOYOTA!
