In case you missed the news last week: President Obama issued an executive order to keep taxpayer money from flowing to companies with labor law violations.
Congrats to the Good Jobs Nation campaign and everyone else who helped make this happen!
The elimination of the American dream, brought to you by greedy corporations their Republican allies and gullible Americans willing to work against their own interests.
San Francisco Bay Area activists have prevented a vessel belonging to Israel's largest shipping company from unloading in the Port of Oakland for the last four ...days in a row!
Workers with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 10 have honored the picket line and refused to unload the cargo from the ship.
According to the Electronic Intifada, this is the first time that an Israeli ship has been obstructed from docking for more than one day due to protest. Read more: http://cnif.us/1lg1Ivh

"Sweep it Under the Rug' Coakley refused to put anything in writing about the ILLEGAL INTER-STATE RAFFLE conducted for years by Plainridge....and IGNORED Sticky Fingers Piontkowski's Pilfering.
Whose toes was Martha afraid of stepping on? If Martha couldn't do her job as AG, who wants her as Governor?
Maura Healey is also ANTI!
Martha Coakley says she is "dedicated to the principles of opportunity, fairness, and equality for every person in our state" despite trying to keep Question 3 off the ballot in spite of thousands of Massachusetts signatures. Charlie Baker said he'd file legislation to keep a Springfield casino even if the people voted to repeal the casino law in November. And Steve Grossman calls himself a progressive despite having introduced a $30 scratch ticket.
In Massachusetts, Scooter Brown won election as an interim Senator to fill the vacated seat of Senator Ted Kennedy.
Scooter won that interim election after a lackluster career on Beacon Hill, running against a particularly bad campaigner, current AG Martha Coakley. The "WIN" was handed to Scooter, because of his 'regular guy' pick-up truck campaign and an arrogant opponent.
Anyone who followed Scooter's votes in the Senate and his rhetoric should have been quickly disenchanted.
Massachusetts voters had the common sense to toss Scooter out of office and elect a NEWCOMER who represents her constituents and ALL Americans, just like Senator Jeanne Shaheen.
At the top of this page is a 'SEARCH' feature and one can find the pathetic tales of Scooter's historic BAD JUDGEMENT that didn't just begin. You'll find the details of Scooter's connections to the New England Compounding Center that killed, sickened and injured so many across the nation because they were UNREGULATED.
Scooter, like a loyal Koch Sock Puppet favors deregulation.
Scooter returned from Washington to lobby for his BEST BUD, Sticky Fingers Piontkowski, caught with his fingers in the till at Plainridge.
Were it not for the flood of KOCH $$$$, this Carpet Bagger wouldn't be taken seriously.
To New Hampshire Voters:
You always seem to have more common sense than Massachusetts voters and we can only hope you have more sense than we did when we sent Scooter to Washington!
I hope you'll research and support the Senator who has worked for you and not believe the misleading attack ads funded by the Kochs' machine.
The GOP needs just six seats to claim Senate
control, and Nate Silver is calling it a pure toss-up.
It could all hinge on ONE SEAT – our Democratic
Senate majority hinges on whether we stop Scott Brown now.
If we don’t hit our midnight fundraising deadline
strong, we’ll be playing catch-up at a critical moment in the campaign – and
Jeanne won’t build the momentum she needs to win.
Don’t wait until it’s too late – give now. Put your
money on the side of a Democratic Senate and invest in our country’s future.
Defeat Scott Brown by donating whatever you can
spare – even as little as $5 – today. Jeanne Shaheen relies on grassroots
support, so EVERY dollar makes an impact.
If you care about defending our Democratic Senate,
we need you to take action – immediately.
If you've saved payment
info with ActBlue Express, your donation to Jeanne's campaign will go through
immediately:
Brown raised $44 million in his last two elections,
and we can count on the Kochs and Big Oil to pave his path to Election Day with
millions of more dirty dollars.
Jeanne is counting on US to make sure she has
what it takes to defeat him.
We can’t let Brown take over New Hampshire – and we
can’t let Republicans buy the Senate majority and turn the clock back on our
progress.
Sorry, New Hampshire! New Hampshire Tea Baggers rushed to embrace the Koch Sock Puppet with no due diligence.
We coulda told ya!
Ya think that's why Massachusetts elected a political unknown over Scooter?
Scooter Brown began his New Hampshire political attacks standing AGAINST OBAMACARE, now proving to be SUCCESSFUL. The national GOP can't tuck tail and run away fast enough.
This story about Scott Brown and “Global Digital Solutions,” the New JerseyCaliforniaFlorida-based beauty supplytelecomfirearms company on whose “advisory board” Brown serves, just keeps getting better. To refresh your recollection,
this company gave Brown 1.5 million shares of stock, which had a market value of over a million bucks at the time but now has declined to a little over $500,000, in exchange for … well, it’s unclear exactly what he’s done for them other than allow them to put him on their website. And, as the Globe has
previously reported,
Global Digital Solutions Inc. does not yet sell or make guns. It has no
revenue, no patents, no trademarks, no manufacturing facilities, and no
experience developing weapons, according to its most recent corporate
filings…. The company, instead of selling firearms, has churned out press
releases to attract small investors, including the one about Brown joining the
firm, and issued millions of shares of stock to fund its
operations.
Today, the Globe
reports that Brown has graciously agreed to comment on the story. Here’s
what he had to say.
“Yeah, it’s a legitimate company,” Brown said. “It’s filed the appropriate
paperwork. It’s doing what every other startup company does.”
Actually, whether this company is “doing what every other startup company
does” strikes me as … debatable. Filing the “appropriate paperwork” doesn’t
mean diddly, and real startups usually, you know, do stuff. They make things,
or they are developing things, or something. They’re not just cranking
out press releases about how they are going to acquire billion-dollar
companies with no obvious means of doing so. Brown says that his role at Global
Digital is to “offer guidance and advice and be a sounding board” to them. I
wonder if he advised them on the Remington “acquisition“?
So, in addition to everything else, Scott Brown apparently has no idea what a
real business looks like. The sooner New Hampshire Republicans wise up about
this guy, the better off they will be.
Scooter Brown returned from Washington to lobby for his Best Bud, Sticky Fingers Piontkowski.
Scooter Brown was forced to return campaign contributions made by the New England Compounding Center after so many were killed or injured by their product. Scooter Brown supports deregulation, corporations run amok.
Scooter's voting record is nothing to envy.
Could that be why Massachusetts voters had the sense to dump Scooter at their first chance?
Senator Shaheen's voting record reflects the importance of her constituents and the future of America.
...an independent for Shaheen
When it comes to spotting independent voices: It takes one to know one. And trust me, Jeanne Shaheen understands just how important it is to put politics aside to do what is best for our small businesses and our states.
As a political independent, I don’t endorse just anyone, but I’m behind Jeanne in her campaign for reelection.
I was thrilled to join Senator Shaheen in Concord this week at Granite State Candy Shoppe - which is really a model for small businesses in both New Hampshire and Maine. Throughout our careers, we've encouraged our colleagues to work together to do whatever we can to provide entrepreneurs with access to resources to grow, expand and create jobs.
Jeanne really is one of our very best, but no one – not even Jeanne – can do it alone. Will you join me today in standing with her?
Long before we started serving together in the Senate, Jeanne and I both served as governors together. It was then that we developed a great working relationship and friendship. This stemmed from something important to both of us: a shared commitment to our states, our small businesses and doing the right thing - regardless of politics - for all our constituents.
Jeanne is a pragmatic problem solver who, in the face of the most divided Senate for generations, finds common ground, puts politics aside, and puts New Hampshire first. She is a hardworking senator who makes a difference for businesses, for veterans and folks across the Granite State from Salem to Berlin and back again.
That's exactly why I'm asking you to help send her back to the Senate this year so that she can keep working with Democrats, Republicans and independents.
Maybe someone should look up Scooter's voting record....or his friends like Sticky Fingers Piontkowski, too sleazy for SLOTS in Massachusetts....or his best buds at the New England Compounding Center that injured and killed so many....or
Scott Brown has a carpetbagging problem. On Monday, the former Republican senator from Massachusetts—who is now running for Senate in New Hampshire—defended his Granite State bona fides by taking a page from Lisa Simpson: "Do I have the best credentials? Probably not. 'Cause, you know, whatever."
At this point, it's the rare Brown story that doesn’t at least allude to the dreaded c-word. "Carpetbagger or Comeback Kid?" asked the Washington Examiner's Rebecca Berg. "Scott Brown's first hurdle in the Granite State will be addressing the carpetbagging charge," argued US News & World Report's David Catanese. Respondents to a March poll from Suffolk University, a plurality of whom disapproved of Brown, used words like "carpetbagger" and "interloper" to describe the ex-senator. His opponent in the Republican primary, former Sen. Bob Smith, has even offered to buy Brown a road map to the state—although Smith has run for Senate in Florida twice in the last decade.
If Brown wants to go back to Washington next winter, he should probably come up with a better response than "whatever." But his critics in Washington have it all wrong. For more than a century, carpetbaggers have gotten a bad rap for all the wrong reasons.
The term "carpetbaggers" traces its origins as a political cuss word to the 1860s, when thousands of Northerners moved to the occupied South during Reconstruction in pursuit of political and economic opportunities. (A carpet bag was a kind of luggage.) The war had left a vacuum: Hundreds of thousands of White Southern males had been killed; many of the survivors were former Confederate politicians, who were forbidden to seek political office. Along with "scalawags"—Southern whites who supported Republicans—the carpetbaggers were the villains of Reconstruction. But like a lot of what happened during Reconstruction, that historical narrative, reinforced by a century-and-a-half of Southern historians, is not quite right.
"Some northerners who went to the South were corrupt, most were not, and many were more willing to defend the basic rights of the former slaves than most white southerners—which is why they were vilified," says Eric Foner, a history professor at Columbia who specializes in the Reconstruction South. The label applied only to certain kinds of outsiders. As Foner puts it, "If you came South and joined up with the Democrats, you were a gentleman, not a carpetbagger."
So it's not that the carpetbaggers were simply relocating. The problem was that they were interfering with Democrats' attempt to act as if the Civil War had never happened. A good example of this is Albion Tourgée, a Civil War vet from Ohio who moved with his wife to North Carolina in 1866 and was immediately slapped with the c-word when he was appointed superior court judge. Among his sins: pushing for equal protection, free public education, and eliminating property requirements to vote. (Later in life, after retreating to New York state, Tourgée was the losing lawyer in Plessy v. Ferguson, the Supreme Court that enshrined the doctrine of "separate but equal" treatment for blacks and whites.)
The reaction to carpetbaggers was venomous. In 1868, the Tuscaloosa, Ala. Independent Monitor ran a cartoon depicting two white men with luggage marked "Ohio" being lynched by the Klu Klux Klan, represented by a donkey. Maybe we shouldn’t take seriously the character judgment of a people who believed carpetbagging was a sin but domestic terrorism wasn't.
If we are stuck with "carpetbagger" as a catch-all for political migrants, that doesn't mean carpetbagging is a bad thing. Politicians try their luck in different states because people know what they're getting. Robert Kennedy wasn't a native New Yorker when he decided to run for Senate there in 1964 (his roots were in Massachusetts), but he had been attorney general of the United States. That's a good person to have working for you if you want to exert political influence, and baseball rivalries aside, there aren't a lot of substantive differences between New York Democrats and their Massachusetts counterparts. Ditto for Hillary Clinton, who bought a house in New York to run for Senate after three decades in Arkansas and Washington, DC. Brown, who does own a home in New Hampshire, was recruited to run there because he is the rare Republican who has been elected to a statewide office in New England recently.
Besides, moving to a new state for work is the American way. New Hampshire's economic pitch is based on luring Massachusetts residents with the promise of a low tax burden, and (for some reason) the freedom to ride motorcycles without helmets. Some activists in the state are more explicit about their desire to attract carpetbaggers. The Free State Project aims to turn New Hampshire into a libertarian paradise through a mass migration of Ayn Rand acolytes—nearly a dozen of whom have already been elected to the state's 424-member legislature.
The good news for Brown, whose 2012 re-election campaign leveled the carpetbagger charge against the Oklahoma-raised Elizabeth Warren, is that his electoral fate will probably be decided by something other than his residency—such as the sizable policy differences between him and incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. So Brown should probably decide how he feels about expanding Medicaid coverage—a core part of the Affordable Care Act that's supported by two-thirds of New Hampshire voters—sooner rather than later.
Or, you know, whatever.
'Scooter' Brown was more successful taking his clothes off than running for office on his abysmal record.
New Hampshire voters would be well served to review Scooter's connections to Sticky Fingers Piontkowski and his best buddies at the New England Compounding Fiasco that KILLED and INJURED so many while promoting DEREGULATION.....and then there was that THING about his brother.....
He played with the band for the second time this weekend
Most politicians end up moving to DC and becoming a lobbyist after they leave office, but former U.S.
Senator Scott Brown seems to be doing it differently - moving to New Hampshire to run as their U.S. Senator and playing for a rock band.
Click here or on the image on the right to see him playing with Cheap Trick again.
The Boston Globe reports that he has ended his contract with Fox News which increases the speculation he will run for the U.S. Senate again - this time from New Hampshire.
A spokeswoman for the network said in December that if Brown authorized an exploratory committee to be formed, his on-air agreement would be terminated.
Brown will now be free to take on the NH Democratic incumbent Senator Jeanne Shaheen.
US considering closing parts of Stellwagen Bank to anglers
Would hurt tourism here, Cod fishing a big attraction
Charter fishermen on Cape Cod are expressing great concern about a proposed regulation's effect on cod fishing tours. Stellwagen Bank Charter Boat Association president Charlie Wade said the regulations could close a 73-square-mile area of the ocean to the hook-and-line ground fishing that “defines this area”.
The association is a made up of Massachusetts USCG Licensed Captains and Mates operating on Stellwagen Bank and the Western gulf of Maine.
A move made by several other recently sold newspapers
The Boston Globe's new owner and publisher, Red Sox tycoon John Henry, says he is selling the sprawling 16-acre newspaper's site on Morrissey Boulevard and will move the region's biggest daily newspaper to a smaller facility downtown. The newspaper was original there a half century ago.
Worth almost what he paid for The Globe
Henry paid $70 million for The Globe and the Worcester Telegram recently, and real estate brokers in Boston estimate the property is worth $68 million.
Henry told Boston Magazine that selling the Morrissey Boulevard site “will provide us with the ability to move into a smaller, more efficient and modern facility in the heart of the city. We believe that there is enough excess value there to fund very important investments in our long-term future, if the community supports development of the property".
This is a move made by several recently sold newspapers as their revenue falls and profits disappear, the land they sit on is more valuable than the newspaper itself.
The New York Times reported last December that the Washington Post, the Detroit Fee Press and the Detroit News as well as the Tribune Media Company's newspapers like the L.A. Times and the Chicago Tribune were putting their property on the block.
Cape Cod Times property worth over $2 million
We wonder when our local daily newspaper's new owners will put the Main Street Hyannis property on the market as well.
The sales price has never been revealed, but the Barnstable Assessor's website says it's worth between $2.5 and $3 million dollars.
Dow Jones got $82 million for the entire group that Cape Cod Times was in. I don't think the price was broken apart. Remember that they cut 17 positions there in November and dropped several features - you don't need as much room when you keep cutting the staff and content.
Scotty made a great centerfold and we all know many who vote based of appearances, ignoring that on Beacon Hill, Scotty was lack luster and his campaign claims ring hollow.
At the bottom is an article recently re-posted in CapeCodToday, that prompted a re-visit of Scotty's disappointing and fortunately short-lived Senate career.
Scott Brown epitomizes WHY voters need to pay attention to VOTES and not phony campaign rhetoric.
Beyond those votes, former Senator Brown securely tied himself to those he'd surely like you to forget - Sticky Fingers Piontkowski and the New England Compounding Center folks who sickened and killed so many around the nation. So much for his widely supported DEREGULATION.
Sorry New Hampshire to send this carpetbagger your way, but please base your support and your votes on performance and history.
Below is a list of some of the articles about the famous centerfold:
Now here are some facts and this is where the GOVERNMENT COMES INTO PLAY and are
the biggest of the thieves and conspirators. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND THE
TEA-PARTY HAVE VOTED DOWN THE ENDING OF GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES ALL FOUR TIMES IT
WAS FINALLY ALLOWED TO COME TO A VOTE. EVERY ONE OF THEM VOTED AGAINST THE
COUNTRY AND THE CITIZENS AND WENT ON TO JUSTIFY IT SAYING BIG OIL NEEDS THESE
SUBSIDIES TO SURVIVE AND PROVIDE JOBS.
[FOR
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PRETEND, FORMER SENATOR SCOTT BROWN VOTED
NO!]
FACE FACTS NOT BULL SHIT: $51,000,000,000.00 (that is FIFTY
ONE BILLION = that equals 9 zeros and 3 comma's after the 51. (PAY ATTENTION
KIDDIES) To help big oil to survive and provide jobs. Now lets check the BULL
SHIT METER; Jobs provided by any of the big oil companies ZERO. TAXES PAID ZERO
because of the subsidies. You can check for yourself and find the exact amounts
paid to who. I want to save reading here.
NOW IF THIS ONE DOES
NOT PISS YOU OFF, NOTHING EVER WILL!!!!!
America's parents need not worry, you can always read Brown's uplifting tale about how he overcame obstacles in his own life should you find your child similarly abused by the guy US Senator Brown refuses to expose.
Against AllOdds Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown, hishandlers and Harper Collins seem to have most of the mainstreammedia in their pockets or at least under control as the PR Campaign to sell his book around the country rolls on. There has beenvery little critique of the book and rather limited inquiry into hismotives for refusing to name his alleged (i.e., imaginary?) abuser at CampGood News, a ChristianSummer Camp on Cape Cod. After his readingat the Reagan Presidential Library, Bostonist blog had the temerity to ask “Is Brown The New Reagan?” Whether they were blowing second-hand smoke to their readersfrom the deep inhale of the Brown camapign’s bong or merely pointing out hisTeflon coating I am not sure. One of my more moderate friends in Sudbury, Massachusetts remarked to me yesterday, “By the way, Scott Brown is the new Ronald Reaganaround here --- pure Teflon as far as I can tell.”
Certain folks, who have actually read and reviewedhis book apparently have not gotten the memo (i.e., his campaign talking points)and have concluded that “Scott Brown’s book lacks insight.” And further:
“It's one of the most egotistical books I'veever read. I know it's an autobiography, which implies a certain amount of ego,but this is essentially one anecdote after another demonstrating, alternately, how hard life's been on "The Cosmo Guy" and how because he was sooooogood at whatever he did, he was somehow able to overcome.”
The Teflon Senator: nothing may stick but it does not mean anything cooked in it is necessarily edible.
If your automatic response, is that anyquestions pertaining to Senator Brown’s candor or lack thereof re: Camp GoodNews and his refusal to name or prosecute his alleged abuser, are politically motivated, you just may wantto re-examine that position given the following. Bob Parks of ‘Black & Right’, aright wing blog, has published a blog entitled "Scott Brown ‘Abuse’ –Fake?", wherein he expresses a willingness to question whetherthe Senator is in fact being genuine. As stated therein:
“Many have questioned how Brown could let a pedophile run free instead ofstopping what could be a serial molester who may now have been at it forupwards of 40 years. Among the “believers” are many who are appalled that a U.S. senator would throw a literary grenade at arespected Christian summer camp and not disclose a name so that Cape officials can pursue the attacker and defend theirreputation.”
Ironic that this should all be happening as another sexual predator by the nameof Ed Foulk recentlyreceived 248years for his count 'em four decades of prolific child sexual abuse. How manydecades has it been since Scott Brown was allegedly abused? About four (4) tobe exact. So, pleaselet us not inconvenience or distract the busy Senator running for re-electionwith requiring that he expose his own “Ed Foulk” like character as he tours the countryand he uses his own campaign funds to bulk buy his own book on to the best seller list. That isfar more critical than bothering him with inquiries about an alleged criminalabusers identity.
So,a few "Convenient Christians" have to get thrown under the bus anddefamed all for the greater good of Scott Brown's political ambition. And if Brown's tale is to be believed than another Ed Foulk also roams freely at large. America's parents need notworry, you can always read Brown's uplifting tale about how he overcameobstacles in his own life should you find your child similarly abused by theguy Brown refuses to expose, although some might not realize that its reallyhard to identify imaginary abusers.
Yeah, that Scott Brown, he is such awholesome, straight shooter with so much damn integrity.
Teflon: nothingmay stick but it does not mean anything cooked in it is necessarily edible.

Both Sheldon Adelson and Steve Wynn were being investigated for FOREIGN CORRUPT PRACTICES ACT violations.....for some reason, BRIBING FOREIGN OFFICIALS seems acceptable in Massachusetts when it comes to Predatory Gambling....what more will Massachusetts residents, the Attorney General and other officials give a wink and nod?
The first license hasn't even been issued and even the Attorney General is ignoring the theft of $$$$ at Plainridge, just as she ignored the ILLEGAL RAFFLE conducted for many years. What else will we ignore?
Federal authorities have just obtained confidential documents on a program run by JPMorgan Chase, Wall Street’s biggest bank, to hire the children of China’s ruling elite in order to gain business with China’s state-owned companies. It's a serious offense, but how different is this from Wall Street’s ongoing program of hiring departing Treasury Department officials in order to grease the wheels in Washington? JPMorgan may face prosecution under the Foreign Corrupt Practices A...ct, which bars American corporations from making payoffs to foreign officials to get favorable treatment in their countries. But why isn’t there a Domestic Corrupt Practices Act barring American corporations from making payoffs to U.S. officials – campaign donations, payments into political slush funds, implicit promises of future employment – to get favorable treatment here? Why don’t we at least require full disclosure of all corporate political spending and all corporate hires of departing government officials? Because Washington is too corrupt to enact such legislation. Never before has so much corporate and Wall Street money poured into our capital. Never before have so many Washington officials taken jobs in corporations, lobbying firms, trade associations, and on the Street immediately after leaving office. Corruption is corruption and bribery is bribery in whatever country or language it’s transacted in.

Who is Martha protecting? What is Martha covering up? Why isn't Martha even doing the job she was hired to do?
