Daily Kos: CHART: Obamacare’s successes hurting Republicans, Kochs try to register a cat to vote in North Carolina

Dear Tea Baggers:

Take note of the article below:

CHART: Obamacare’s successes hurting Republicans

The U.S. is the only Industrialized Nation that fails to provide Universal Health Care for its  citizens.

Many U.S. Health Care statistics equal those of Third World Nations.

Does that ever make sense? Why would you deny Health Care to your neighbor?

Obamacare is SUCCESSFUL!

If the U.S. continues to wage WAR at a steep price, UNFUNDED,  around the Globe, shouldn't we take care of Americans first?

One TEA BAGGER bragged that her son NEVER paid taxes, yet received a Massachusetts Taxpayer Funded Kidney Transplant. [You know who you are!]  Always the Double Standard!

[Scott Brown is a FORMER Senator for good reason!]

PALEEZE STOP ELECTING DIRTY ENERGY KOCH SOCK PUPPETS!

A REPUBLICAN VOTE is a VOTE FOR THE KOCHS!

Aren't we SICK & TIRED of listening to the same bogus campaign rhetoric?

Fleeing to New Hampshire

After watching the antics of Governor Rick Perry, it's hard to believe New Hampshire would rally 'round this guy, much less embrace the Koch Sock Puppet, Scooter Brown.

The message below from Senator Shaheen:

Stop Rick Perry and Scott Brown to keep the Senate blue!
Following his indictment, Rick Perry is fleeing Texas for New Hampshire TODAY to rally the Tea Party faithful behind Scott Brown.
This is the same guy who compared being gay to alcoholism – and the New Hampshire GOP is welcoming him with open arms. Just like they did for his fellow extreme Texan, Ted Cruz.
The Washington Post says a Republican Senate takeover is “more and more assured,” and POLITICO just exposed Leader Mitch McConnell’s plans for another government shutdown! We know New Hampshire is the last firewall protecting our Democratic Senate majority – and with a brand-new poll showing Brown just TWO POINTS behind Jeanne, we need your help NOW.
We CAN stop a GOP takeover – defeating Ricky Perry, Ted Cruz, AND Scott Brown – but only if we help Jeanne raise $35,000 by midnight.
Please, give every dollar you can spare before midnight.

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Perry and Brown have made their agenda clear – they’ll go anywhere to gain political points. But Jeanne is fighting for New Hampshire, and we know it’s time to shut these other guys down.
We cannot let crooked politicians and dirty money buy New Hampshire to take control of the Senate.
This grassroots powerhouse is the best bet at stopping a GOP takeover. Please, give now to help us raise $35,000 by midnight and have what it takes to defeat Scott Brown and save the Democratic Senate majority.

Wonder if anyone ever 'THINKS'

GOP clowns, like Scooter Brown invade New Hampshire, condemn the dastardly communist plot...OBAMACARE! intended to protect those with health care, those without health care, and Scooter Brown and the other Koch Sock Puppets can't think of anything better to do than campaign against OBAMACARE!

[OMG! That SOCK PUPPET kinda reminds one of the ALBANY TOYOTA attorney who can't find a barber or hairsylist.]

Scott Brown answers carpetbagging concerns: 'You know, whatever'

In Defense of Scott Brown, Carpetbagger

| Fri Mar. 28, 2014

Scott Brown has a carpetbagging problem. On Monday, the former Republican senator from Massachusetts—who is now running for Senate in New Hampshire—defended his Granite State bona fides by taking a page from Lisa Simpson: "Do I have the best credentials? Probably not. 'Cause, you know, whatever."

At this point, it's the rare Brown story that doesn’t at least allude to the dreaded c-word. "Carpetbagger or Comeback Kid?" asked the Washington Examiner's Rebecca Berg. "Scott Brown's first hurdle in the Granite State will be addressing the carpetbagging charge," argued US News & World Report's David Catanese. Respondents to a March poll from Suffolk University, a plurality of whom disapproved of Brown, used words like "carpetbagger" and "interloper" to describe the ex-senator. His opponent in the Republican primary, former Sen. Bob Smith, has even offered to buy Brown a road map to the state—although Smith has run for Senate in Florida twice in the last decade.

If Brown wants to go back to Washington next winter, he should probably come up with a better response than "whatever." But his critics in Washington have it all wrong. For more than a century, carpetbaggers have gotten a bad rap for all the wrong reasons.

The term "carpetbaggers" traces its origins as a political cuss word to the 1860s, when thousands of Northerners moved to the occupied South during Reconstruction in pursuit of political and economic opportunities. (A carpet bag was a kind of luggage.) The war had left a vacuum: Hundreds of thousands of White Southern males had been killed; many of the survivors were former Confederate politicians, who were forbidden to seek political office. Along with "scalawags"—Southern whites who supported Republicans—the carpetbaggers were the villains of Reconstruction. But like a lot of what happened during Reconstruction, that historical narrative, reinforced by a century-and-a-half of Southern historians, is not quite right.

"Some northerners who went to the South were corrupt, most were not, and many were more willing to defend the basic rights of the former slaves than most white southerners—which is why they were vilified," says Eric Foner, a history professor at Columbia who specializes in the Reconstruction South. The label applied only to certain kinds of outsiders. As Foner puts it, "If you came South and joined up with the Democrats, you were a gentleman, not a carpetbagger."

So it's not that the carpetbaggers were simply relocating. The problem was that they were interfering with Democrats' attempt to act as if the Civil War had never happened. A good example of this is Albion Tourgée, a Civil War vet from Ohio who moved with his wife to North Carolina in 1866 and was immediately slapped with the c-word when he was appointed superior court judge. Among his sins: pushing for equal protection, free public education, and eliminating property requirements to vote. (Later in life, after retreating to New York state, Tourgée was the losing lawyer in Plessy v. Ferguson, the Supreme Court that enshrined the doctrine of "separate but equal" treatment for blacks and whites.)

The reaction to carpetbaggers was venomous. In 1868, the Tuscaloosa, Ala. Independent Monitor ran a cartoon depicting two white men with luggage marked "Ohio" being lynched by the Klu Klux Klan, represented by a donkey. Maybe we shouldn’t take seriously the character judgment of a people who believed carpetbagging was a sin but domestic terrorism wasn't.

If we are stuck with "carpetbagger" as a catch-all for political migrants, that doesn't mean carpetbagging is a bad thing. Politicians try their luck in different states because people know what they're getting. Robert Kennedy wasn't a native New Yorker when he decided to run for Senate there in 1964 (his roots were in Massachusetts), but he had been attorney general of the United States. That's a good person to have working for you if you want to exert political influence, and baseball rivalries aside, there aren't a lot of substantive differences between New York Democrats and their Massachusetts counterparts. Ditto for Hillary Clinton, who bought a house in New York to run for Senate after three decades in Arkansas and Washington, DC. Brown, who does own a home in New Hampshire, was recruited to run there because he is the rare Republican who has been elected to a statewide office in New England recently.

Besides, moving to a new state for work is the American way. New Hampshire's economic pitch is based on luring Massachusetts residents with the promise of a low tax burden, and (for some reason) the freedom to ride motorcycles without helmets. Some activists in the state are more explicit about their desire to attract carpetbaggers. The Free State Project aims to turn New Hampshire into a libertarian paradise through a mass migration of Ayn Rand acolytes—nearly a dozen of whom have already been elected to the state's 424-member legislature.

The good news for Brown, whose 2012 re-election campaign leveled the carpetbagger charge against the Oklahoma-raised Elizabeth Warren, is that his electoral fate will probably be decided by something other than his residency—such as the sizable policy differences between him and incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. So Brown should probably decide how he feels about expanding Medicaid coverage—a core part of the Affordable Care Act that's supported by two-thirds of New Hampshire voters—sooner rather than later.
Or, you know, whatever.

Sorry New Hampshire!

Scotty made a great centerfold and we all know many who vote based of appearances, ignoring that on Beacon Hill, Scotty was lack luster and his campaign claims ring hollow.

At the bottom is an article recently re-posted in CapeCodToday, that prompted a re-visit of Scotty's disappointing and fortunately short-lived Senate career.

Scott Brown epitomizes WHY voters need to pay attention to VOTES and not phony campaign rhetoric.

Beyond those votes, former Senator Brown securely tied himself to those he'd surely like you to forget - Sticky Fingers Piontkowski and the New England Compounding Center folks who sickened and killed so many around the nation. So much for his widely supported DEREGULATION.

Sorry New Hampshire to send this carpetbagger your way, but please base your support and your votes on performance and history.

Scott Brown's Ed Foulk problem
Article | News |

America's parents need not worry, you can always read Brown's uplifting tale about how he overcame obstacles in his own life should you find your child similarly abused by the guy US Senator Brown refuses to expose.
“It's one of the most egotistical books I'veever read. I know it's an autobiography, which implies a certain amount of ego,but this is essentially one anecdote after another demonstrating, alternately, how hard life's been on "The Cosmo Guy" and how because he was sooooogood at whatever he did, he was somehow able to overcome.”

The Teflon Senator: nothing may stick but it does not mean anything cooked in it is necessarily edible.

“Many have questioned how Brown could let a pedophile run free instead ofstopping what could be a serial molester who may now have been at it forupwards of 40 years. Among the “believers” are many who are appalled that a U.S. senator would throw a literary grenade at arespected Christian summer camp and not disclose a name so that Cape officials can pursue the attacker and defend theirreputation.”

Republican Re-Treads!

Is this the best both parties can do?

Former Senator Scott Brown was NOT Senate material.....and Massachusetts voters made a mistake and sent him to Washington. Massachusetts Voters rectified that mistake. Who believes voters will re-visit that mistake? Senator Brown pretended he was an 'independent' candidate who voted in lock-step with Republicans and was mostly lack-luster.

Charlie Baker LOST his gubernatorial race.....for good reason based on ISSUES.

When Massachusetts Republicans whine about losing candidates, maybe they should re-think.

And Martha Coakley? Paleeeze!

Top GOP gov prospects lag Dems in handy cash

Friday, August 9, 2013
By: Erin Smith

Republican powerhouses Scott Brown and Charlie Baker — who are both mulling a run for governor — have almost nothing in the campaign war chests and are lagging way behind several Democrats vying for the Corner Office, records show.

Brown, who told the Herald on Wednesday he will make his decision by the end of summer, had only about $8,000 in his state coffers at the end of June, according to the Office of Campaign and Political Finance.

The former U.S. senator had $182,543 cash on hand in his federal political action committee as of June, but those funds can’t be used in a state election.

Baker, a former Harvard Pilgrim Health Care CEO, had about $29,000 in his state campaign account as of the end of May, reports show.

State Treasurer Steven Grossman leads the pack of Democratic hopefuls with more than $597,000 in the bank — including $47,400 in new donations in the second half of July alone, according to records.

Former Obama administration official Donald Berwick has raised about $263,000, while Attorney General Martha Coakley, who is considering a run, has more than $278,000 in her war chest, records show.

State Sen. and Cape Air founder Dan Wolf — who is contesting a State Ethics Commission ruling that his airline’s Massport contracts are a conflict of interest and should bar him from elective office — had about $23,000 in his campaign account at the end of June with $25,000 in outstanding liabilities from personal loans, records show.

Health care executive Joseph Avellone reported nearly $39,000, while Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone, a potential candidate, had $139,500 in his coffers at of the end of 2012 but more than $101,000 in outstanding liabilities.

Coy boy Brown says “there’s nothing wrong with a (GOP) primary” against Baker

MEN OF MYSTERY: GOP power players Scott Brown (L) and Charlie Baker (R), are keeping voters guessing about a possible run for governor.

Brown's will-he-or-won't-he moment is either the same coy move he made before declining to run for Senate this year, or the beginning of a massive GOP split

Scott Brown’s Brother Accused Of Impersonating Officer, Commandeering Boat

Curious!

Scott Brown’s Brother Accused Of Impersonating Officer, Commandeering Boat

Items allegedly seized from Bruce Browne’s car. (Photo credit: CT State police)

OLD LYME, CT (CBS) – The brother of former Massachusetts U.S. Senator Scott Brown was arrested Thursday night in Connecticut on a number of charges, including impersonating a police officer.

Police responding to reports of a man with a gun found Bruce W. Browne, 46, of Wolcott, Connecticut driving a blue Crown Victoria with what appeared to be a disc and antennas mounted on the trunk along with “hide-away” lights.

Browne was wearing military-style pants, according to police. Inside the car in plain view, officers say they found three loaded 9 mm handguns, a black nylon duty belt with two sets of handcuffs, a police baton, 12 fully-loaded magazines with a total of 101 hollow point and 102 ball 9 mm bullets.
Browne also allegedly had a black tactical bullet proof vest with the word “POLICE” embroidered on the front and back with a silver metal TSA badge attached.

Investigators say earlier in the day, Browne commandeered a boat by identifying himself as a “Police/Coast Guard” official.

He allegedly produced an expired Coast Guard identification.

TSA and US Coast Guard officials said Browne is not affiliated with either agency.

Officials are investigating whether this alleged incident is connected to other similar incidents.
Browne is charged with Impersonating A Police Officer, Breach of Peace, Interfering With A Police Officer and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon in a Motor Vehicle.

He was released on a $50,000 bail and is due back in court later this month.

It is not clear why Browne spells his name differently than the former senator.

What's Elizabeth Warren done?

Recently, a well-educated but uninformed person blabbered on about 'What's Elizabeth Warren done?' repeating all of the right-wing horse manure.

When I rattled off several issues about which the Senior Senator Elizabeth Warren has been outspoken, the sheepish response was 'I didn't know.' [information readily available with an internet search]

Then I rattled off several of former Senator Scott Brown's positions that are in lock-step with the Republican Right Wing platform and received a similar response 'I didn't know.'

And then my friend, Jim, as a Gabriel Gomez supporter,  was unaware of Rep. Ed Markey's votes, his opposition to re-licensing Pilgrim, Markey's opposition to the Dirty Tar Sands Pipeline, Markey's support of Cape Wind and historic advocacy for addressing global warming. My friend, Jim was also unaware of Gabriel Gomez's position on a number of issues, including those below.

That is not to single out Jim because he is representative of the blind support others have expressed.

And then there are multitudes of others who blindly accepted the '37 year' nonsense and voted for Gomez. Note of caution: That won't work in any other election.

Truth is where you find it.....

Just in case you missed it by the Tea Bagger in Disguise

 Gabriel Gomez: Repeating the Lies

Gabriel Gomez's Tax Deduction

Frankly, this got to me that the Spanish community refused to relate to Gomez's privileged upbringing --

State's largest Spanish language newspaper endorses Ed Markey over Gabriel Gomez

Massachusetts should be proud of Senator Warren who has repeatedly spoken out for Americans, for ALL of us.

Frankly, it's baffling that so many continue to vote against their best interests and against the best interests of the nation.

Why would you do that unless you were uninformed?

And so, this is the recent action of Massachusetts' Senior Senator, Elizabeth Warren. You should be proud!
The Congress of the United States has determined by inaction to let various people grift over America's college students, and the senior senator from Massachusetts would like to know why in the fk this kind of thing is allowed to happen.
On Friday, Warren sent a letter to the CEO of the student lender, accusing Sallie Mae of "piling on" government supported benefits while reaping "big fees" from students. "While Sallie Mae is finding unique ways to profit from government programs, its borrowers are paying interest rates that are far in excess of the low cost of funds supported by the U.S. taxpayers," she wrote. The latest letter marks the newest round in a lengthy back and forth between the freshman senator and the student lender. What began as an inquiry into a low-interest line of credit Sallie Mae received from a government-created bank that primarily exists to support housing, has broadened into a critique of high student loan interest rates in general. "If we are serious about investing in our future, we should help our students pay for their education - not find ways to squeeze more profits from them. I believe it is time to align priorities in Washington with those of the American people," she added in her Friday letter.

This has been an ongoing thing. One quibble -- this is not something that has "broadened into a critique." This is a continuation of all the issues that SPW has been fighting over her entire public career -- namely, the connivance of big banks and government agencies to jam it to all the rest of us.
On Monday, Warren set off the debate, sending a letter to the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which oversees the nation's housing enterprises. In it, she asked why Sallie Mae, a private student loan provider, had received a low interest, $8.5 billion line of credit from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. The nation's 12 Federal Home Loan Banks were created in the wake of the Great Depression, with the primary goal of ensuring access to low-cost funding for banks, which in turn could use them to offer affordable mortgages. The banks are owned by the nation's financial institutions, which buy into the banks in exchange for access to the low-cost funds, but are sponsored by the government.
Noting that Sallie Mae made $2.5 billion on student loan interest in 2012, Warren asked the regulator why it should get a 0.23 percent line of credit, while it was charging 25 to 40 times that amount on its own private student loans.

Good question. Do continue.
In a statement provided to The Hill, a Sallie Mae spokesperson said the line of credit was intended to service a leftover amount of federally guaranteed student loans it still had in its portfolio, although the lender stopped offering such loans in 2010 when Congress killed that program. The spokesperson added that the FHLB credit had "no bearing" on Sallie Mae's private lending activities. That claim resulted in Warren firing off a letter Tuesday to Sallie Mae itself, arguing that such a statement was contradicted by the lender's own corporate filings.

Dear Beltway Bureaucrats: do not attempt to bullshit Senator Professor Warren. This never ends well.

Toyota and the Tea Baggers: Did you ever notice......

...some folks willingly accept and repeat the Koch-funded Tea Party 'too many regulations,' ignoring that Dirty Energy wants to pollute at will and Corporate Moochers want bigger profits.

We used to be a nation that prided ourselves on protecting our citizens, but no longer.

Yet when a company ships death and injury around the nation, killing innocents, the knee-jerk response is to call for more regulation and search for blame, backing away as fast as possible as Senator Scott Brown did.

You don't want to pay for the cost of regulation, inspection and enforcement? How are we supposed to get there?

Framingham Pharmacy Contributed to Brown

NECC owner bought $2.4M home here this spring

Dirty shoes? How did steroids get contaminated?

This growing tragedy was not caused by too much regulation.

When the Republicans proclaim that regulation stifles business, remember these deaths.
These are Tea Party Deaths!

The owners of this company are Senator Scott Brown supporters and campaign contributors. Whose side was he on? Whose side are you on?

Patriotism

The irresponsible Republican owners of a Framingham laboratory raised funds for Senator Scott Brown and campaigned for deregulation, at the same time they shipped contaminated product around the nation killing and injuring innocent Americans.

From media accounts, their sanitary controls and conduct were criminal negligence.

Regulatory branches, such as NHTSA are grossly under-funded, under-staffed, lacking resources. What Big Corporation doesn't welcome less 'oversight' and regulation?

As this article indicate, Toyota LIED -- even as their cars were killing people --

Experts: Translated Toyota memo shows electronic acceleration concern

.....the best they could do was offer a spokeswoman who doesn't speak Japanese to deny the truth.

The video is worth watching. Would we reasonably believe that a woman pulling into a parking space would lift up her foot and place it on the accelerator which is elevated next to the brake pedal and drive into a brick wall? Let's be reasonable!

The reasonable explanation is that Toyota lied.

If you don't want to pay for good government, what do you expect?

Below, are a few of the many articles available about NHTSA, Toyota and government that needs a great deal of improvement and FUNDING - as in tax dollars.

My Toyota has NO BRAKES. Route 44 Toyota refused to fix it. Toyota denied it.
Your solution? If my Toyota with NO BRAKES killed your child, your solution?
