YOU ARE NOT DONATING THIS TIME - You donated in in May - we had a reasonable fundraiser. This is June and you're not donating. Yes one out of every one hundred readers will easily sustain the entire project. My vision is for shorter fundraisers. I hate fundraising and the time is far better spent on the mission. We need a lift here. / Marc Ash, Founder Reader Supported News

Galindez writes: "I will admit it, I went to the First Annual Roast and Ride, sponsored by our pig-castrating senator from Iowa, Joni Ernst, looking for that Michael Dukakis moment. You remember seeing him looking like a fool with his head sticking out of a tank. Well, Scott Walker and Rick Perry didn't look like fools on their Harleys, and those who would have were smart enough to avoid them. As far as looking like fools, they saved that for the stage."

Special note: Rick Perry and cronies attack anti-corruption group and more!

Rick Perry’s Spin Machine and Right-wing Tea Party Hate Machine are making a combined, all-out attack on an invaluable group called Texans for Public Justice.

Why are they attacking Texans for Public Justice? Because this small group is extremely effective at exposing politicians of both parties who are engaged in corruption. Republicans are furious (1) TPJ filed the official complaint that led to Tom DeLay’s conviction and resignation from Congress, and (2) the group also filed the criminal complaint that has now led to a grand jury felony indictment of Gov. Rick Perry.

Why does TPJ need our help? Because the group is besieged with hate mail, calls, and threats – completely overwhelming its 3 person staff and forcing them to fight off the devil’s rather than do its work. Dealing with the attacks is fast-depleting TPJ’s small budget, and the group needs immediate help with funding to stay in this important fight.

Also, Perry and his henchmen are in full spin cycle, preventing the national media’s coverage of the indictment into a “poor Rick” story, blaming TPJ an progressives generally for a “politically motivated” persecution. Here are some links that tell the real story of Perry’s abuse of power:

-- Austin American Satesman: Judge Warns Against Perry Grand Jury Threats

The dishonest, vituperative attacks on TPJ is the same tactic the right-wing has used to destroy other progressive groups, picking us off one at a time. This time, let’s stand up for our besieged ally that has an unmatched record of integrity and is being threatened only because it exposed Perry’s corruption, leading to action by a Republican judge and special prosecutor with solid Republican credentials.

What to do? Spread the word about Texans for Public Justice to your contact lists, and please donate any amount you can to sustain these fighters for truth and ethics in this critical time: http://www.tpj.org/1997/01/support-tpj.html

Thank you! And Keep Agitating!

Fleeing to New Hampshire

After watching the antics of Governor Rick Perry, it's hard to believe New Hampshire would rally 'round this guy, much less embrace the Koch Sock Puppet, Scooter Brown.

The message below from Senator Shaheen:

Stop Rick Perry and Scott Brown to keep the Senate blue!
Following his indictment, Rick Perry is fleeing Texas for New Hampshire TODAY to rally the Tea Party faithful behind Scott Brown.
This is the same guy who compared being gay to alcoholism – and the New Hampshire GOP is welcoming him with open arms. Just like they did for his fellow extreme Texan, Ted Cruz.
The Washington Post says a Republican Senate takeover is “more and more assured,” and POLITICO just exposed Leader Mitch McConnell’s plans for another government shutdown! We know New Hampshire is the last firewall protecting our Democratic Senate majority – and with a brand-new poll showing Brown just TWO POINTS behind Jeanne, we need your help NOW.
We CAN stop a GOP takeover – defeating Ricky Perry, Ted Cruz, AND Scott Brown – but only if we help Jeanne raise $35,000 by midnight.
Please, give every dollar you can spare before midnight.

If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Perry and Brown have made their agenda clear – they’ll go anywhere to gain political points. But Jeanne is fighting for New Hampshire, and we know it’s time to shut these other guys down.
We cannot let crooked politicians and dirty money buy New Hampshire to take control of the Senate.
This grassroots powerhouse is the best bet at stopping a GOP takeover. Please, give now to help us raise $35,000 by midnight and have what it takes to defeat Scott Brown and save the Democratic Senate majority.

To Jim: Hope you're watching! RSN: The Tax Code Is Rigged, Yes, Rick Perry Could End Up Doing Time

After the last election, I bumped onto a well-educated, misguided friend who supported a Tea Party Candidate with some pretty wacko views. [That Tea Party Candidate's Wacko views were posted here.]

In the course of conversation, I was asked 'What has Elizabeth Warren done?'

Well, maybe it's not front page news or even on the back pages of some of the local rags that offer News Max, FAUX News and other free horse manure on their pages.....

Massachusetts has an impressive delegation representing not only the Commonwealth, but ALL Americans! We should be proud!

In spite of the Koch Cash, voters have made wise choices!

Thanks!
