NORTH NAPLES, Fla. A Collier County Sheriff’s deputy was unhurt when a Toyota Prius hit his patrol car Sunday night.

The deputy was outside his car working a traffic stop at around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Immokalee and Livingston roads when he noticed the Prius coming right at him, the sheriff’s office said.

He tried to signal to the driver to stop, but she didn’t, and he jumped out of the way, according to the sheriff’s office. The patrol car had its emergency lights on when the crash took place.

Charges against the driver of the Prius, who sustained minor injuries, are pending a further investigation. Florida’s “move-over” law obligates drivers to move out of the lane adjacent to a stationary law enforcement vehicle if possible.

The wreck closed one of the three westbound lanes of Immokalee Road near the intersection.

The identities of the deputy and the driver weren’t immediately clear.

Three injured in Chinatown car crash downgraded from ‘critical’ to ‘serious’ condition

Patients admitted to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital following a car crash in Chinatown that injured 10 people on Friday were downgraded from a critical condition to “serious” condition Sunday, according to health officials.

“The three people we have left are in serious condition,” said Brent Andrew, a hospital spokesperson told the San Francisco Examiner on Sunday.

Five of the 10 crash victims were taken to San Francisco General following the incident.

The remaining victims at the hospital include three women, ages 95, 85 and 25, Andrew said.

Fire officials said 10 people were injured following the crash on Stockton Street between Sacramento and Clay streets reported at 12:37 p.m. on Friday.

Police Officer Robert Rueca said the driver of a gray sedan traveling north on Stockton Street struck two other vehicles, one of them unoccupied, before crashing into a Muni bus shelter midblock.

Surveillance video obtained by local Chinese language TV station KTSF shows the car as it barreled through the 30-Stockton Muni bus stop and sent glass flying across the sidewalk, as pedestrians nearby jumped back.

Fire Battalion Chief Paul Crawford said injuries among those struck included a number of broken legs and other broken bones, as well as head and back injuries.

Patients were taken to several different area hospitals, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.

Supervisor Aaron Peskin, who represents District 3, which includes Chinatown, was at the scene of the crash immediately — and said one of the victims was “actually my neighbor.”

Though the Examiner was unable to independently confirm before press time, Peskin said everyone identified in the crash so far is a San Francisco resident.

No arrest was reported Friday and police indicated the driver was cooperating with investigators. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Man seriously injured in Toyota truck & tree crash

Man seriously injured in Suffolk Route 58 crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded Saturday to a single-vehicle accident that left an elderly man seriously injured in the 4100 block of Route 58 and Holland Road near Pioneer Road.

Emergency Communications received the call at around 2:15 p.m. about an accident involving a Toyota pickup truck. Crews determined that the truck left the roadway and struck a tree.

Crews provided a medical assesment and the 80-year-old male was extricated from the truck and airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver’s name has not been released.

The roadway was closed while crews worked the scene and reopened at 4:35 p.m.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Lexus and Prius crash injures bicyclist

Bicyclist taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Officers with the San Francisco Police Department are on-scene, responding to an accident that sent a bicyclist to the hospital.

Around 8:18 p.m., officers were called to the area of 6th and Folsom streets in San Francisco after getting a call about a traffic accident.

Officers say that a Lexus and a Prius taxi crashed into each other. As a result of that crash, the Prius hit a bicyclist.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

This is the same intersection where 24-year-old Amelie Le Moullac was killed in 2013 when she was run over by a truck while riding her bike.

Through Twitter, SFMTA said that traffic is being impacted through that area.

FATAL TOYOTA CAMRY CRASH

Deadly accident on 215 at Decatur

LAS VEGAS-- Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say two women were killed Saturday evening after a crash on the west-bound off ramp of 215 and Decatur.

Troopers say it happened at 7 p.m. Two cars, a Toyota Camry and Mercedes, were exiting the beltway when the Toyota rear-ended the Mercedes.

The Mercedes was able to pull over and stop on the off ramp. The Toyota continued on the off ramp and crossed over both the north-bound and south-bound lanes of Decatur.

The car ended up in a parking lot where it hit a concrete barrier and caught on fire.

A 21-year-old woman from Wisconsin who was in the front passenger seat died at the scene. Another passenger, a 58-year-old woman from Las Vegas, was taken to University Medical Center where she passed away.

State troopers say the 21-year-old man driving the car is at UMC in critical condition, but is expected to survive.

Investigators say no one in the Mercedes was injured. They say the people in the Mercedes and Toyota knew each other. Preliminary investigations reveal speed was probably not a factor in the initial crash. No word on why the Toyota continued on the off ramp.

Lanes were not shut down for a significant period of time as the accident happened in a parking lot.

Passenger dies after family accident on Beltway

One person died after a two-vehicle crash on the 215 Beltway near South Decatur Boulevard Saturday night, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The call came in about 7 p.m. after a Toyota Camry traveling west on the Beltway rear-ended a Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes’ driver pulled over to the right, while the Toyota continued down the Decatur offramp. The Toyota traveled to a parking lot near Wagon Trail Avenue where it caught fire.

The female front-seat passenger of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The male and female passengers were taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

No injuries were reported for the passengers in the other vehicle.

The people in the two cars are family members, NHP trooper Loy Hixson said. They were on their way home.

The Beltway was closed for a short time, but Hixson said temporary closures may follow as the NHP continues to investigate.

KinderCare center reopens after car crashed into building, killing young girl

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

Children began returning to the KinderCare day care center on Goldenrod Road in Winter Park Monday, weeks after a car barreled into the building, killing a child and injuring several others.

Lily Quintas, 4, died in April when a car struck by a hit-and-run driver crashed through the wall of the day care as Lily and other children sat at a table waiting for afternoon snacks.

Twelve others, mostly children, were injured in the accident.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers later arrested Robert Corchado, who they said struck the car that went into the building. They said Corchado then fled the scene.

Corchado turned himself
in to authorities the following day and remains in jail charged with leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving death, and leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving serious bodily injury.

On Tuesday, KinderCare officials said they have installed reinforced concrete planters in front of the building and added traffic barriers along the sides of the building to "provide peace of mind that this won’t happen again."

Suspect surrenders in deadly Florida daycare crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Florida man suspected of involvement in a hit-and-run car crash that killed a 4-year-old girl and injured 14 people at an Orlando-area daycare centre surrendered to authorities on Thursday, police said.

Robert Corchado, 28, turned himself in at the Orange County Jail....

Corchado is believed to be the driver of a Dodge Durango SUV that triggered the crash by rear-ending another car as it slowed to turn into the day care entrance near Orlando.

The second car, a Toyota Solara, jumped the curb before going through the parking lot and into the front of the KinderCare daycare centre, striking several children and stopping at the back of the building.

WATCH: Surveillance video captures multi-vehicle crash on Main Street in Trussville

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. -- One person was taken into custody Wednesday morning following a multi-vehicle crash in Trussville.

The accident, which involved five vehicles, occurred shortly after 8 a.m. near 154 Main Street. ABC 33/40 has obtained surveillance footage showing one of the vehicles -- a black Lexus sedan -- spinning and skidding down the highway as debris flies all around the area.

According to police, the driver of the Lexus was taken into custody. It's unknown if any charges have been filed at this time. There were no reports of injuries.

Luke Bigham, actor known for role in Talladega Nights movie, injured in 5-vehicle crash in Trussville

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. -- Luke Bigham, a Trussville resident and actor known for his role in the popular movie "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" in 2006, was injured in a five-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed to ABC 33/40.

Bigham, who played 10-year-old Ricky in the comedy starring Will Ferrell, was transported to a local hospital after sustaining injuries in a wreck on Main Street around 8 a.m., Trussville police said. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. Authorities didn't disclose which vehicle Bigham was in at the time of the incident.

ABC 33/40 obtained surveillance video showing a glimpse of the aftermath of a high-speed collision between a Lexus sedan and another vehicle. The Lexus GS350 can be seen spinning down the road as debris from the wrecked vehicles flies through the air. To watch the video, click here.

An investigation remains ongoing.

Driver at fault in Easter church crash

FORT MYERS - The investigation into an Easter crash at the Second Haitian Baptist Church is now complete.

The driver of a Lexus that drove through the structure and injured 18 people has been cited with careless driving.

Marie Masson told investigators that her brakes failed as she drove into the parking lot of the church located at 3660 Central Avenue suite #13

An inspection of the Lexus’ braking system by an ASE-certified mechanic found the system to be functioning properly with no evidence of a brake failure. Victor Medico, Fort Myers public information officer, said that a city mechanic was used to save tax-payers' money.

The decision to find Masson at fault was based on statements made at the scene, speed estimations, and vehicle inspections conducted during the follow-up investigation.

Masson will need to appear in court on the civil citation because the crash involved serious injuries.
The front of the building remains boarded-up, and parishioners say they continue to use the building for worship.

The driver lost control of the SUV on White Plains Road near Watson Ave. in the Bronx before hitting the barber shop and injuring a boy who was outside.

She cut a little off the front — of the barber shop.

A livery cab driver lost control of her Toyota Highlander and plowed into a Bronx barber shop Saturday — injuring a boy outside, officials and witnesses said.

The SUV veered onto the sidewalk on White Plains Road near Watson Ave. at about 7:15 p.m., clipping the child before slamming into the Hustler’s Barber Shop.

“I heard a couple of booms, crashes (and then) a loud noise,” said barber Steve Brown. “The next thing I know I see the nose of that truck coming through the front door.”

The child was taken to Jacobi Hospital with a minor injury, officials said. The driver was not hurt. Cops were investigating Saturday night.

THE BRONX - The FDNY says a car crashed into Hustler's Barber Shop in the Bronx Saturday night.

Employees of Hustler's Barber Shop say a woman driving a Toyota Highlander was trying to make a U-turn on White Plains Road when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes, sending her up the curb and into the shop.

Witnesses say there was a group of young boys in front of the shop, and one of them was struck by the SUV.

The boy was transported by EMS to Jacobi Medical Center. There is no word yet on his condition.

No one was injured after a car crashed into a home in Rochester, New Hampshire Wednesday night, according to police.

Police say first responders went to 22 Franklin Heights for a reported vehicle in a building around 9:45 p.m. There, they say they learned that as 38-year-old Mark Harmon of East Rochester attempted to park a Toyota Camry, the car went over a small retaining wall, through a fence and into the home through a sliding glass door.

Two other people were inside at the time, but they were in other rooms and were not injured, police say. Harmon also wasn't injured.

Rochester Police say the crash damaged the Toyota's front end and had to tow it away, and property management immediately attended to the residence's damage.

Neither speed or nor alcohol seems to be a factor in the crash, but it's still under investigation, according to police.

Government the "Toyota Way"

A government serving the interests of the public would be sending Toyota executives to prison. Instead, consumers are confronted with corporate-controlled thugs refusing to acknowledge - publicly, at least - compelling evidence of electronic defects in the Recall King's throttle control. So what if people get injured or killed? Isn't it ridiculous when taxpayers have reason to doubt the government's story of what the terms were when a crook like Toyota handed over $1.2 billion in payola to end a federal criminal investigation? Toyota is notorious for confidentiality agreements, and nobody can be blamed for wondering if an admission of covering up electronic defects associated with unintended acceleration was part of the deal Toyota cut with the feds.
