Call me cynical but I think that prolonged low oil prices will send us back to our wasteful ways. Even though we've had some drop in consumption, we're still using far too much energy per-capita compared to the rest of the world.
We need to get to real green renewable energy, preferable decentralized, so that consumption doesn't have the same ramifications on the environment and economy that it does today.
It's a good thing I dont have $$$ in utlities. Oh, but wait. My investments arent worth anything now anyway. Thanks again, Bush/Cheny. Cant wait till your gone

You may be correct about returning to our wasteful ways, but there will always be those who have finally gotten the message or realized that you can save money on energy costs without altering your lifestyle. Businesses, like WalMart, understand that it improves the bottom line, so you'll have smart companies working to reduce their energy. And then there will be others, like myself, who are just cheap.
